“Low-level employees who have no call in the daily running of or larger decisions of a workplace should be expected to bear the brunt of the problems. If you can’t positively change or affect the workplace, you can’t be held responsible for its failings.”


“Employees should be given all the tools and training needed to be successful. If an employee is not given the tools or feels they have been set up for failure, the employee should be able to voice that and expect it to be addressed.�


“At a minimum, managers should be personable people who understand and respect lower-level employees. If a manager can’t empathize or listen and react properly to concerns, he/she has no business managing other people.�


“Instead of being run in a punitive manner, a workplace should be run in a positive manner. Instead of punishments or “if you do this, then you get [insert consequence]” a workplace should feel like a team effort that you have a vested interest in.”


“If part of leadership is knowing when to say ‘no,’ a ‘no’ should be acknowledged and respected as a response to a request.”


“An inability to properly manage and schedule does not indicate that a valued employees training time should get cut short.�


“Employees should be treated as individuals and families need a little more leeway in absenteeism and family matters.�


“A company should spend more time walking the walk than continuously reiterating positive rhetoric. The rhetoric should always match the conditions, not insist that they exist.�


“Managers must keep their opinions of other staff a secret from lower-level employees. Under no circumstances should a low-level employee know what a manager things of their coworkers.�
