I really do go on about it but South America is such a fantastic continent to visit, I have been a few times myself and love it. I have been on a South American Sojourn all my life, I love the continent from Caracas in the North to Punta Arenas in the South, It is truly spectacular.

As I am sure those that have ever spoken to me will have noticed the accent and possible mistaken it for Australian?? But no, I am South African born and bred. South Africa has plenty to offer: game drives trying to spot the illusive big 5, perhaps a round of golf or two, even an Ostrich ride, deep sea fishing, shark cage diving, wine tasting, whale spotting, mountain biking, sand boarding, hiking.

Hawaii is a pain to get to, but don’t worry if you’re considering a Hawaii trip you can fly direct to Los Angeles have a night stay and then onto Honolulu if you wish.

I went to New York and it was by far one of the best trips I have ever done. As soon as you arrive in the big apple the excitement and buzz of the city hits you straight away. The Empire State building - Amazing! The views are sensational and just so bizarre to see the yellow cabs as small as ants below. Central Park stumbling across the park in such a busy built up city is surreal but very beautiful.

Holiday Highlights Bosphorus Cruise, Dolmabahce Palace and 2 Continents Tour Take a Bosphorus Cruise, the waterway separating the two continents of Europe and Asia, and enjoy the wonder of Istanbul as you sail by. Visit the remarkable Dolmabahce Palace, the recent residence for Ottoman Sultans built by two Ottoman architects Karabet and Nikogos Balyan on a 110,000m2 area composed of three sections; Selamlik allocated for state issues, the Harem (Seraglio) area designated for the private life of the sultan and his family, and the Parade Hall, the study and bedroom of Ataturk. Famous for its great collection of European antiquity, furniture and 4.5 tonne chandelier, this palace also has 285 rooms and 46 halls! You will also cross the Bosphorus bridge, a unique chance to step from one continent (Europe) to another (Asia) in 2 minutes. Also visit Camlica Hill or Yeditepe, exposing a panoramic view of Istanbul and Bosphorus from the best view point. Lunch will be served at a Turkish Restaurant.

Monaco Grand Prix Every spring, sports car fans from around the globe descend on the Principality of Monaco to witness the Monaco F1 Grand Prix. It is the one race of the year that every driver dreams of winning. Like the Indy 500 or Le Mans, it stands alone, almost distinct from the sport from which it was born. Spectators delight in the raucous noise of the roaring engines as they speed along the Boulevard Albert 1er up toward the Casino and around the hairpin turn in front of the Fairmont Monte Carlo. Overtaking is next to impossible so qualifying in Monaco is more critical than at any other Grand Prix. The Portier corner is key to achieving a good lap time around Monaco. It is preceded by the Loews hairpin, the slowest corner in Formula One, and followed by the tunnel, one of the few flat-out sections of the track. Some great names have ended their races in the barriers here, most notably Ayrton Senna and Michael Schumacher.

Independence Day is annually celebrated on July 4 and is often known as “the Fourth of July”. It is the anniversary of the publication of the declaration of independence from Great Britain in 1776. It is a day of revelry, of fireworks and parades, of barbecues and carnivals - in short, of all things American. People travel to New York City for the Fourth of July for many reasons - some to be with family, others to watch the awe-inspiring Macy’s 4th of July Firewords Show. Each year on the Fourth of July, millions of revelers journey to the banks of the Hudson River in NYC to watch the Macy’s Fourth of July Fireworks Show. At this stunning NYC event, first held in 1958, six barges will launch 40,000 fireworks over 1,000 feet in the air as smaller boats blast water jets of red, white, and blue.

Celebrate the American way

With your New York CityPASS you’ll be able to explore the best attractions – absolutely free! For the duration of your stay your CityPass includes: TM

• Includes entry into NYC’s six top attractions: Statue of Liberty, Empire State Building, Metropolitan Museum of Art, Museum of Modern Art, Museum of Natural History & Guggenheim Museum • No waiting in long ticket queues • Ferry ticket to Ellis Island/Statue of Liberty

alaskan wilderness

Oceania Cruises • Regatta 16 nights • 7th July 2013

From the ultra-modern Experience Music Project in Seattle to the multicolored hues of traditional Butchart Gardens near Victoria, you can see it all on this ten-day voyage. The isolation of dramatic Icy Strait Point is balanced by the small-town charms of Juneau, Alaska’s capital city. Sitka, where Russia transferred ownership of Alaska to the United States in 1867, still exhibits its Russian heritage in the historic Russian Bishop’s House and the onion domes of the Russian Orthodox Church. The still waters of the fishing village of Ketchikan are a prelude to the unspoiled beauty of the Inside Passage and the glories of unmatched Hubbard Glacier, which extends 76 miles inland.

Your Itinerary

Holiday Highlights Hoover Dam and Lake Mead Cruise

Hoover Dam

The first stop is at the Hoover Dam where you will learn all about the inner workings and history of the dam with a selfpaced, in-depth, educational tour which includes a special tour centre presentation, exhibits with unique perspectives and views of the Hoover Dam. This world-renowned structure tamed the Colorado River and created the largest manmade lake in the nation. After the visit inside the Hoover Dam you will be taken on a 3-level Mississippi-style paddle wheeler. This cruise will offer you unparalleled views of the Hoover Dam and the dramatic desert landscape that surrounds the lake from one of two enclosed, climatecontrolled decks or from the observation deck. The tour also includes lunch and either a visit to Ethel M. Chocolate Factory or a stop at the Boulder City Museum.

Read what our customers said about our recent March 2012 departure

What a fantastic holiday we had. The group of 22 people who met at Beijing really jelled which made our cruise even better as there was always someone to chat to. The China part of the holiday was excellent-nothing was too much trouble for the tour operator. The national guide Cynthia, and the local guides Jason, Beijing and Arran in Xian all spoke excellent English and were very informative. Strangely the day in Beijing most of us thought the best was the visit to the park for our Tai Chi lesson and to watch all the locals enjoy keep fit sessions. Kuala Lumpur has transformed over the last few decades into a thriving metropolis with spectacular architecture ranging from Menara KL to the iconic Petronas Twin Towers – the second-highest buildings in the world. Boasting some of Southeast Asia’s largest shopping malls and a colourful jumble of street markets, Kuala Lumpur is a retail paradise. Unlike many Asian cities, KL has retained a majority of its historical buildings and features numerous tranquil spots within the city centre itself including the lush green lung of Lake Gardens and the greenery of Tasik Titiwangsa. The city’s landscape is a blend of modernity and traditional charm, with hawker stalls and pre-war shop-houses alongside skyscrapers and sophisticated buildings. To put it briefly Kuala Lumpur is a gateway to a truly multihued Asian experience.

Wendy Wu and the Yangtze River

Terracotta Warriors

One of China’s must-see sights, the Yangtze River is one of the world’s largest and most famous waterways, flowing through China’s dramatic and varied scenery. From the extraordinary natural beauty of the Three Gorges to the bustling cosmopolitan city of Shanghai, the Yangtze River offers an experience not to be missed. And unlike many tour operators, most of the Wendy Wu Yangtze cruises sail upstream, giving you an extra day to see some of China’s most awe-inspiring sights.
