ABOUT IT

We sat down with the inimitable Caesar Walkins to ask him about his journey so far and what drives him.

I grew up in a small town called Baltimore which is 35 minutes North East of Washington DC. I had a tenure in the US Marine Corps, and after that I came here to Australia, with no family or friends with a plan to start all over again. I was even homeless for 2 years in a suburb called Goodna. I had to rebuild my life. I actually drove taxis for 8 years and in that time I found out that I was a bit of a people person engaging the full spectrum of personalities. When I got into real estate back in 2016 I was quite content with just selling normal homes between Springfield and Browns Plains and never had any specific aspirations of selling prestige properties. However after a chance meeting with an unlikely owner of a penthouse in Palm Beach, I was inspired to take on a path of assertively pursuing prestige properties. The worst thing that someone can tell me is that I can't do something, so in the coming 8 weeks I basically cold called 130 builders and developers and was basically rejected from 98% of them. 2 things with me, hunger and persistence. When I started out with All Properties Group I didn't make any income for 8 months. I was door knocking, cold calling and family and friends were telling me that perhaps this pathway wasn't the best, but I knew that if other people could be successful, I could also. It would just take persistence and analyzing what I was doing wrong and practicing over and over. I became obsessed with the way I delivered my conversations and learning how to close a deal. It all enabled me to not only list prestige properties against all odds, but it fed my confidence. My motto in life is 'Love all, serve all' and that really drives me to be the best I can be.

Do you have any message to the haters and detractors out there that love to criticise you?

Keep bringing it! I love it. I am not one to shy away from a challenge, and I am determined to succeed despite any obstacles in my way. So keep doubting me, keep underestimating me, because with each negative comment, I only become more focused and driven to out-work and out-perform you. Thank you for fueling my fire!

If you had chosen an alternate career, what would it have been and why?
