EDUCATION
Throughout my studies, I have been always seeking the answer to how environmental and social factors affect architecture and how architecture affects our daily life so that I can create a space most suitable for people. That is the motivation for me to find a suitable job and continue to contribute in this field. My strength is the ability to research and grasp natural, cultural and social issues to create a different and effective solution. In addition, I am motivated and forward-thinking person who is willing to share my enthusiasm and commitment to critical thinking and innovative design. I believe myself as reliable, responsible and organized person. I am glad to learn new things every new day and ready to challenge myself with new opportunities.

WELL-BEING AND PHYSICAL REHABILITATION: RESTORATION OF THE OLD SANATORIUM IN PELION Issues of reuse and intervention practices are investigated, aiming to transform the inhabited structure grid of the building into a residential area. The retaining of the primary function of the building as a sanatorium; a place, which will provide mental and physical relaxation to the visitors, has been proven to be a fundamental factor for the successful reuse of the building. The ambition of the project is to meet the need of the tenants and implement a therapeutic environment for them. The perception of the complex is considered as an enclosed community and not as a hospital clinic. Therefore, the main goal of the proposal is converting the abandoned structure into a functional and habitable place, while, emerging the need of expressing the architectural character of each building, as a new additional building was implemented. Initially, it is proposed to create a new building which will contain new programs, essential for the new sanatorium’s operation. The layout of the addition corresponds with the subsisted landscape as well as with the architectural characteristics of the existing buildings complex. The final designed complex is divided into three zones; the reception and living areas, the treatment and training areas, and the accommodation and isolation areas of the tenants. In addition, a key element for the design process is to redefine and modify the movement through the complex, and the accessibility into the different levels of the buildings, which is challenging due to the mountainous topography. Therefore, a ramp is designed, which develops along the entire length of the sanatorium, starting from the first building, connecting all the different areas.

THER.PO.S. FALIRO CENTER The Faliro Thermal Power Station is the first thermal-power plant to be built in Greece and its buildings are an example of industrial architecture. The preservation and promotion of this station as an organic part of the city and of the social life are the reasons that led to the creation of the highrise. Observing the existing elements of the plot and the wider area, it is decided to combine two circular buildings with the old linear ones in order to create a new complex, while saving the imprint of the existing building structures. This new complex consists of a hotel and a cultural centre. The program is complemented by the placement of a market in the first linear building of the old station and a historical wandering through the industrial equipment in the third one. The second structure of the old station is transformed into a patio space that acts as the main axis of connection and expansion of the programs. The cultural character of the new complex is made up of an amphitheatre, seminar venues, a library and exhibition halls that can be found on the first 3 floors of the highrise. On the second floor, the exhibition expands along the old structure, hanging from the roof. The highrise, besides rooms, also includes communal spaces aimed at enhancing the social life of its visitors.

MOTHERBOARDHOOD If one city could be considered as a computer, which receives stimuli and feeds its inhabitants with information and services, then it is possible to be said that it consists of the software and the hardware. The residents are considered as the software. The floor plan of the city block is treated as a computer motherboard, on which the hardware is placed. The motherboard is responsible for organizational, dataflow control, communication with other computers or users, and computer performance. For this reason, accessories are added and removed depending on conditions and needs. The processor of the computer is one of its most important parts, since it uses the motherboard as a central “nervous system” to control the other parts. This role is taken over by the mediateque library, which supplies the building block and users with information. For short-term or long-term storage and processing of information, the building block is equipped with storage rooms and data rooms. The essential role of powering this system with energy is taken over by the market, which is installed in new driveways and now consists of vending machines covering almost every need. The new living conditions in the concrete blocks of apartment require the creation of new communal spaces. Shared spaces, located in three abandoned buildings, are replacing the sound, graphics and network card with corresponding functions. Finally, as external devices, the housing capsules are placed, expanding the capabilities of the computer. Their feature is their ephemeral nature since they are not necessarily or irreplaceable parts of the computer or the block respectively. This ephemeral character is achieved by placing a metal skeleton and lining it with translucent skin.

CULTURAL OASIS The aim is the design of an open-air school, in which the lesson could be transferred from the inside of the building to an open space. At the same time, observing the lack of green of the surrounding areas, which is found only in the square of Psilon Alonion and in the uncovered areas around the building blocks, a need arises for the creation of a new park, able to accommodate the idea of an open-air school. In this way, a metal structure is created under which all the functions of the school are housed, while on top of it a new park is designed. This park constitutes a part of the urban tissue and at the same a green lung for the area while ramp-valleys connect the interior of the school with the park and the whole city. Both the interior of the building and the park are organized into functional lanes (classrooms, laboratories, gymnasium, library, theater).
