REGISTRY OF PHYSICIAN SPECIALISTS -OUR MISSION-
The Registry of Physician Specialists (RPS) provides medical and mental health care professionals to organizations with staffing needs. Since the establishment of our pioneering mental Health Providers of California in 1988, RPS has been successfully working in the challenging world of health care services. Currently, RPS provides fully credentialed primary and specialty medical and mental health professionals to state, county health centers and correctional facilities. The Registry was one of the first healthcare organizations to develop and implement individualized solutions for staffing needs. As RPS, we continue to offer prevention-minded and cost-effective care for short and long-term replacement staffing. The Registry’s Providers
The RPS provides primary care and specialty medical and mental health practitioners to community health centers and organizations serving the medically under-served population. Our practitioners are experienced with diverse patient populations and make valuable contributions to their individual communities and the many organizations they currently serve. The Registry’s physicians provide expertise in their professional roles as:
Active medical and psychiatric hospital staff members
Consultants to both the private and public sector in rehabilitative, industrial, law enforcement, administrative, and educational settings
THE REGISTRY FOUNDATION -OUR MISSION-
The Registry foundation is a 501 {c) {3) dedicated to learning, educating and rehabilitation. The pursuit of learning and educating involves various levels and crosses multiple populations and disciplines. Health care professionals, social service professionals, the judiciary, law enforcement, and the public all benefit.

COMMUNITY SERVICES DIVISION -OUR MISSION-
The Registry of Physician Specialists’ Community Services Division provides comprehensive consultative, educational and accredited training curricula for community health care centers and other nonprofit agencies. Providing consulting services on a broad range of leadership/management topics and sharing timely information on health care reform Sponsoring prevention and wellness training Creating accredited educational workshops that specifically address medical, dental, and behavioral health issues Developing partnerships with community-based non-profits The Community Services Division consultants and trainers will partner with your team to stay abreast of the continually evolving health care reform initiative and its implications for health care in our local communities. We work with a variety of professionals to meet the needs that arise from the community.
Samuel G. Benson, MD, Ph.D. President, Registry of Physician Specialists
Since Dr. Benson started his career as Medical Director at Charles R. Drew Health Center in East Palo Alto, he has focused his efforts on working with under-served populations. Dr. Benson founded the Registry of Physician Specialists over 20 years ago and his work continues to expand through the affiliated Registry Foundation and Community Services Division. His work addresses a range of urban and rural social, medical and behavioral health issues.
