Niko (UK) Limited is unveiling a brand new concept at ISE 2010. bloom, a member of the Niko Group of Companies has developed a monitoring and response system for Residential Care Homes working alongside industry experts. This is a computerised system that provides a range of practical and user-friendly aids that makes the role of care-giver easier and the lives of residential home residents more comfortable. Explaining the new bloom concept, Niko (UK) Ltd. Sales Director, Stephen Calder said, "We have been working with bloom in Belgium for the last year refining the system to meet the demands of the UK market. We know from our conversations with care-providers that this is a much-needed and perfect solution for the care homes of the future. With new legislation and a growing need for easier and more accurate record-keeping, bloom holds the key for a better a more efficient operation of care homes in the future. "We are already talking to many of the leading providers and are looking forward to some exciting projects as we go forward in 2010." The bloom system integrates a range of functions including care-calling, electronic care recording; telephone systems, equipment control functions (light, heat, etc) and security and fire alarm systems. Calling and responding: a unit in the resident's room allows for easy calling of staff. These calls can be easily identified by staff for location and urgency - and the speed of response, and any actions taken, can be recorded for easy reference. Alarms: The bloom system can differentiate between the various types of alarm that may be necessary and automatically notify the correct department or personnel to ensure an appropriate and speedy response. Choice of technology: whether the equipment is hard-wired or wireless - that's up to the client and the application. With bloom, there is an infinite range of options all ensuring that the bloom system installed in any Care Home is bespoke and tailored to provide exactly the right amount of information and access in public and private areas to only the appropriate personnel. bloom is being introduced into the UK for the first time in 2010 and it is expected to help transform the way that care providers deliver best practice in residential and nursing homes.
