MEDIA ALERT Basking Ridge Youth Receives National Music Award WHAT:

Basking Ridge resident Megan Wu, a grade six student at The Peck School in Morristown, has received the National Gold Medal (the highest mark in the country) from the Royal Conservatory Music Development Program for her flute playing. Each year The Royal Conservatory Music Development Program awards Certificates of Excellence and National Gold Medals to recognize the outstanding achievements of top-scoring students. Ms. Wu achieved the highest mark in her examination center (Center Certificate of Excellence), the highest mark in the state (State Certificate of Excellence), and the National Gold Medal. The National Gold Medal is awarded to students who achieve the highest mark in the country and who have also completed the theory co-requisites for their respective level and discipline. These awards are an exceptional distinction. They are the result of hard work, dedication, and commitment. They also represent a national standard of musical achievement that is upheld by support provided by Megan’s family and teacher. Megan will be joining other 2015 Tri State Certificate of Excellence winners for a recital in Carnegie Hall on February 21 & 22, 2016.

Megan Wu is a sixth grade student at The Peck School in Morristown, NJ. She is the daughter of Bedminster dentist Dr. Yulan Wu and Mr. Eric Wu, Regional Head of Credit, Asia Pacific Investment for Metlife.
