Exhibit of Acclaimed Wildlife Artist Aaron Yount at The Peck School MORRISTOWN, NJ. It could be considered the oldest form of art known to human kind. From prehistoric etchings in murky caves, to modern realizations, sought after by collectors around the world, wildlife art speaks to all ages and cultures. The language of wildlife art is universal, honest and pure. Select works by Aaron Yount, a rising star in the world of wildlife art, are now on exhibit in the Great Hall of the Lindenwold Mansion at The Peck School. For two years running, Yount’s work has been selected by the Timber Wolf Alliance for their annual Wolf Awareness Week Poster. His painting, “An Eye for Berries” received an award of excellence at the 2013 Society of Animal Artists, “Art and the Animal” exhibit in Vermont. His paintings and sculptures are displayed in galleries and private collections throughout the United States. In 2012, he was selected as Artist-In-Residence at the world-renown Hiram Blauvelt Art Museum in Oradell, NJ, where some of his paintings and sculptures are now on permanent exhibit. The works on display at The Peck School are on loan from this permanent collection. James Bellis, Board President at the Hiram Blauvelt Art Museum, and a 1967 graduate of The Peck School notes that Aaron Yount, “is an artist who works in a realistic style to depict wildlife and their habitats. Through his work, Aaron strives to establish an intimate connection between the viewer and his subjects.” The Hiram Blauvelt Art Museum selects artists based on their ability and promise and on their commitment to the museum’s ongoing efforts to promote wildlife conservation and habitat protection. The exhibit of select paintings by Aaron Yount is open to the public from 9:00am to 4:00pm Monday to Friday through September 30, 2015. The Peck School is also the benefactor of a life-size bronze lion sculpture by Aaron Yount that was gifted to the school by Mr. Bellis. The lion has been The Peck School mascot for many years and one of the school’s popular slogans refers to the school community as, “The Peck Pride.” The Peck School is located at 247 South Street in Morristown, NJ 07960.
