lotzamani kitchen. residential
introduction
The Lotzamani family presented the designer with the challenges of accommodating their different tastes in finishes as well as different opinions on budget. They were in need of a space that allowed for entertaining large groups of people as well as a feeling of luxury, while enjoying daily functions such as cooking, eating, and relaxing. State of the art appliances were a must have for this couple, to allow for a functional experience in their kitchen.
concept
Combining clean lines with warm tones, the Lotzamani kitchen is a mixture of both contemporary and traditional elements. Soffit ceilings above the workspace and dining area allow for an intimate and aesthetically pleasing environment for the clients to enjoy with family and friends. High-end appliances make for a functional work space and beverage amenities. Dining, Bar, and lounge furniture have been specified to allow for entertaining guests. Showcasing geometric form, the light fixtures create variety and interest, while the glass water feature and see-through fireplace set the mood for any occasion.
features
One of the unique features of this kitchen design is the three sided fireplace which can be enjoyed from several areas—including the lounge and dining space. Floor to ceiling windows allow for natural light and a feeling of openness while a centralized water feature creates a subtle delineation of areas within the design.

henson loft. residential
introduction

poker + dining
hot tub + patio
Middle-aged bachelor and father of three, Tom Henson, purchased a loft apartment in downtown Nassau where the designer was challenged to create the ultimate bachelor pad that would complement its location on the coast of The Bahamas. Providing a place to stay on weekends for his three sons and also a go-to hangout spot for he and his buddies was high on his priority list. Poker and pool tables, a jacuzzi and kegerators were all elements on his wish list for entertaining.

The style is a mixture of industrial elements—coordinating with the already present character of a converted factory. In addition, a nautical flare will complement the loft’s beautiful view of the Caribbean. Finish selections are both masculine and neutral, including chrome, leather, wood, and concrete. This space provides a range of functions that cater to two age groups--one being Tom’s children and the other being his bachelor pals. Specifically, a gaming center for his sons has been implemented into the living room, while on the other hand, several kegerators in the kitchen satisfy Tom and his friends need for craft beers in an instant. Overall, there is a feeling of freedom throughout the space as Tom ventures into a new chapter of his life—it was the designer’s intention to make that concept resonate throughout the Henson Loft.
features
In addition to the twenty feet tall windows, features include a large gas grill in the center of the kitchen island, a poker table that doubles as a dining table, and fish tank that also acts as a facade for the vent that runs through the middle of the loft. The second level showcases its openness with glass railing and includes a bridge connecting the master suite to Tom’s home gym and sauna.

kc ranch house. residential
introduction
The KC Ranch project challenged the designer to create a 2,500 square foot residence for a young couple relocating from the Houston area to the Texas Hill Country. The ability to entertain large groups of people was at the top of their wish list as well as a high-end look with a moderate-sized budget. The designer needed to generate a style that would accommodate the couples’ love for rustic and contemporary elements. Both form and function throughout the home were crucial in order to successfully meet the client’s needs.
concept
This homes’ layout is centered around the open concept kitchen and living room since these spaces will be primarily used for socializing. Careful selection of furniture style and placement will allow for both conversation and convenience for all users of the space. In terms of aesthetics, a neutral color palette with accents of natural and metallic finishes will fulfill the couple’s desire for a rustic and contemporary style and ambiance. Since the couple both work from home, organization will be woven throughout their home—eliminating both clutter and stress. Peering through large windows and glass doors, natural light will infuse the master bedroom, as well as the rest of the home—providing attention restoration as well as increasing the happiness, productivity, and wellness of the Ballard family.
features
The features that make this home unique lie within the natural elements and finishes throughout the design. Petrified wood sinks and the farmhouse dining table lend to the rustic style, while low-profile lounge furniture and the Carrara marble waterfall island lend to the contemporary side of the design as a whole.

element shelf. furniture
introduction
As defined by the designer, growth is the constant aspiration to break through the barrier of rules and limitations in order to create something with beauty and purpose. The designer was challenged to transform the word growth into a concept graphic which would later become a furniture design called the elementshelf.
concept
Both the form and function of the elementshelf were inspired by the concept of growth. Combining artistic and multipurpose qualities, this piece can be used as a sculpture, as well as a shelf for the display of different elements. Adding an implied principle of balance to any space, this unique and ergonomically designed piece reminds the user that growth is always within reach.
features
The tongue and groove joinery method has been used for construction as well as recycled wood in a walnut finish. Both the extruding shelves and openings within the design can be used to hold and display items such as accent pieces and books. The base of the elementshelf is hexagon shaped, symbolizing the structural foundation of growth.

introduction
One teacher, eighteen students, seven hours—all in one room, all in one day. The designer was challenged to accommodate both teacher and elementary students by creating a space where they could learn through collaboration. In terms of aesthetics, it was crucial to implement colors and shapes that would excite them about learning. Because students were required to change stations several times throughout the day, it was also important to create an easy transition for all users of the space.
concept
Focused on education and centered around collaboration, this design creates a contemporary and creative environment for learning. The open concept floor plan allows for easy transitioning as students change stations throughout the day. Group projects are made possible by state of the art technology and modular furniture. Taking into account the importance of the student’s senses, adjustable lighting and acoustical ceiling panels will allow the Collab-O-Learn classroom to achieve increased concentration by way of sight and sound. In the event of a hostile situation, the Safe Pod space serves a dual purpose of both protection and a personalized learning experience.
features
In order to create a centralized and collaborative learning area, curved partitions create delineation, flow, and interest while the student’s work. The teacher’s desktop is a dry erase surface which allows her writing to be projected directly onto the large white board adjacent to the students. All furniture within the Collab-o-Learn classroom is both mobile and modular—allowing for flexibility of learning activities throughout their day of school.

hotel agata. hospitality
introduction
Given the challenge to develop a concept and relative location, the designer chose to use the agate gem stone as inspiration for Hotel Agata located on the coast of the Ionian Sea in Sicily, Italy. The designer wanted to get away from the cookie cutter feeling that resides in chain hotels and instead give guests a unique experience to remember.
concept
Just as no two agate gem stones are alike, the concept of Hotel Agata is one-of-a-kind. The design combines raw and natural elements with elegant finishes. The design as a whole appreciates the existing structural cave as abstract sculpture protrudes from the curvilinear walls. Modern furniture form introduces a feeling of familiarity and sleekness throughout the lobby. Whether visiting the bar, front desk, or business center the consistent and symmetrical layout creates a smooth transition from one destination to the next.
features
Central to the lobby layout, is a circular bench which mimics the shape of an agate slice. Above this feature are staggered pendants to catch guests’ attention from all viewpoints of the space. Providing signage and branding, the custom art feature above the reception desk is a more literal approach to incorporating agate into the design.
