A SCHOOL TRADITION, A MEANINGFUL MOTTO

Every school year, we adopt a school motto that touches on valuable topics that are relevant to students’ daily school life. Here is an explanation of the thinking behind our latest motto.

LEARNING IN THE GREEN

Surrounded by the Singapore jungle and located in the green heart of Singapore, the Swiss School in Singapore is ideally suited to experience the learning in the green.

At the beginning of the school year, the students were introduced to their first project inspired by the new school motto. Each class planted their own class garden, leaving the method entirely up to the individual classes. During the first semester of the school year, beautiful and sustainable gardens were created.

DIVERSITY AND FRIENDSHIP

The values of our school are rooted in tolerance towards other opinions and lifestyles, and we encourage a genuine awareness of diversity in our school community. In discussing this topic, students have learned the value of being different and unique. The most important message our students take away from this part of the school motto is that everyone is special in their own individual way, and that friendship is a wonderful thing that needs to be nurtured by both sides.

We are looking forward to many more creative projects aligned with and in support of our school motto.
