Happy Valentine’s Day!
Beloved, Companion, and Friend! There is a Companion who loves us with an Everlasting, Immeasurable Love. His Sacred Words speak a timeless message to our souls: “Let the Beloved of the Lord rest secure in Him, for He shields him all day long, and the one the Lord loves rests between His shoulders.” (Deut. 33:12)
Like a Good Shepherd, our Divine Soul-mate (Jesus) supports us, whispering gently, “Cast your care (on Me) for I will sustain you.” (Psa. 55:22)
Tenderly, our Beloved calls us intimately by Name and steadily leads us by “still waters.” We follow Him because we know His voice. Our Savior, the Gateway to our dwelling, bids us enter; and when we do, we are cleansed, and we rest securely. Freely, we go in and out of His pastures and are nourished for He has come that we might have life and have it to the full! (John 10) If even now one of us is lost, Christ, the Good Shepherd, is earnestly searching…. calling our name. And when He finds that one, He will joyfully put His dearest on His shoulders, holding His beloved closely to His Heart. Then our Shepherd will happily call out, “Rejoice! with Me; I have found My lost sheep.” “Find rest, O my soul, in God alone.” (Psa. 62)
was not there. I searched everywhere, inside and outside of the apartment and the building. He was nowhere to be found. I cried and cried because my apartment was so empty without him. Being determined to find him, I decided to wake up the next morning and begin looking at 9:00 a.m. sharp because that was when the apartment office opened. Well, at 9:00 a.m. I opened the door and there my little kitty sat- on the steps - waiting for me. My theory is that someone had taken him in for the night and then let him back out that morning, but I didn’t care because there he was safely back home. My love and commitment to finding my precious kitten has reminded me of God’s love and commitment to us. We are His children and in the same way that I was torn when my kitten was lost, God is torn when we, His children, are lost. In the same way that I was determined to do whatever I had to do to find him, God is determined to find us. In the same way that He led my little kitty back to me, God leads His children back to Him. And in the same condition that my kitty came back to me tired, hungry, cold, and alone, we also return to God - tired, hungry, cold, and alone.
Two Miracles from His Heart We think of Christmas as a time for giving, joy, love, family, and friends. Yet, for me that is often not the case. I am 20 years old, go to school full time, work full time as a waitress, and live in my own apartment. I have little to no financial support and my closest family lives two hours away. I don’t have a lot of money for presents or decorations and my friends all go home for Christmas. To be honest, Christmas break is often lonely and depressing. Two years ago on January 01, 2006, I was granted a second chance by God to live the life that He wanted me to. I took that chance and have never looked back. Sometimes though I struggle and forget why I took that chance, it is in those moments that I see God in ways that I never imagined. This Christmas break was like every other; I once again was alone without family, friends, or money. In the past, I have gone to my grandma’s which has been very helpful; even so, I usually just get one day to visit before having to return home. One day is not enough to fill the emptiness. This Christmas, I was sitting on my couch one afternoon when someone knocked at the door. When I answered the knock, there stood a deliveryman with a package. The package had come from Kanakuk, a Christian camp, I worked at last summer. My supervisor, Gina, had sent a Christmas present to me, and I was really surprised! As I opened that package, very slowly, I started to cry. One tear after another fell down my cheeks when I saw what was inside - a leather-bound Bible. This was not just any Bible; it was the exact Bible that I had been wanting all summer but was unable to purchase because of needing to pay bills. What made this gift even more amazing was that the only One who knew I wanted that Bible was God Himself! This was definitely a Christmas miracle! A few days later another miracle happened. One morning, my kitten got out the door of my apartment. It happened when I was on my way to work and somehow, I did not notice it until coming back home. The little kitty always came to the door to greet me when I arrived home but that night he

asking that he stop and give back the ladder. Instead, he walked on; in fact, he walked clear to the pawn shop to get money for the ladder. Pastor Israel and friends followed but the man would not respond. At the pawn shop, they surrounded the hostile, combative man, and the ladder was retrieved. Believing in accountability, the Pastor and friends prevented this man from leaving until the police were called and he was on his way to jail. In addition to this theft, it is believed this same person stole two valued guitars which were used in the tent revival. Although Pastor Israel and friends are not interested in filing charges, they are very interested in getting back those two guitars. As of now, the man has not made restitution. Please help us pray for this man’s soul and also for the guitars to be found. And, in a way, we thank God for the publicity this sad event brought! The story is not over yet! The persons working at the pawn shop – and their families – came to the tent revival! + Dear Father, Whatever happens this day, Let me be a reflection Of your love, Wisdom and mercy.
Two Miracles from His Heart (Cont. from Page 2) In the same way that I scooped my little kitty up and brought him home, God scoops up His children and brings them back Home. So far this has been the best Christmas I have had in a long time because God gave to me what no one else could: Two Miracles from His Heart. Approximately 100 people attended, even the 20 little girls (and their parents) who have been coming to Christian Triumph Mission. Vitalina Hernandez, Elena (the Pastor’s sister) and members of the local Bible Spanish Institute donated their time and money to prepare a Bar-B-Q dinner for all the people. One evening, the church fasted and held a prayer meeting from midnight to 4 a.m. Anyone who would come and pray was welcome. God certainly answered these prayers! Only God knows how many persons made decisions to follow Christ as well as to become more dedicated Christians. (Information proved by Diana (Hernandez) Beletic) +
His Shoe Touched My Soul. (unknown author)
I showered and shaved. I adjusted my tie. I got there and sat in a pew just in time. Bowing my head in prayer, As I closed my eyes, I saw the shoe of the man next to me Touching my own. I sighed.
CHRISTIAN TRIUMPH CHURCH ON TELEVISION
With plenty of room on either side, I thought, "Why must our soles touch?" It bothered me - his shoe touching mine, But it didn't bother him very much.
Advertisement? Yes, but in a unique way! Some of the Christian Triumph family noticed an older man grabbing a ladder on the mission grounds and walking off with it. Someone called to him, 3
A prayer began: "Our Father," I thought, "This man with the shoes has no pride. They are dusty, worn, and scratched; Even worse, there are holes on the side!"
He was old and his skin was dim; His hair was truly a mess. But I thanked him for coming, And for being our guest.
"Thank You for blessings," the prayer went on. The shoe man said a quiet "Amen." I tried to focus on the prayer But my thoughts were on his shoes again.
He said, "My name’s Charlie. I'm glad to meet you, my friend." There were tears in his eyes But he had a large, wide grin.
“Aren't we supposed to look our best When walking through that door? Well, this certainly isn't it," I thought, Glancing toward the floor.
"Let me explain," he said, Wiping tears from his eyes. "I've been coming here for months And you're the first to say 'Hi.'"
Then the prayer was ended And the songs of praise began. The shoe man was certainly loud, Sounding proud as he sang.
"I know that my appearance Is not like all the rest, But I really do try To always look my best."
His voice lifted the rafters. His hands were raised high. The Lord could surely hear The shoe man's voice from the sky.
I always clean and polish my shoes Before my very long walk. But by the time I get here, They’re dirty and dusty, like chalk."
It was time for the offering, And what I threw in was steep. I watched as the shoe man reached Into his pockets so deep.
My heart filled with pain, And I swallowed to hide tears As he continued to apologize For daring to sit so near.
I saw what was pulled out – What the shoe man put in. Then I heard a soft "clink" As when silver hits tin.
He said, "When I get here, I know I must look a sight. But I thought if I could touch you, Then maybe our souls might unite."
The sermon really bored me to tears, And that's no lie. It was the same for the shoe man Because tears fell from his eyes.
I was silent for a moment Knowing whatever was said Would pale in comparison. I spoke from my heart, not my head.
At the end of the service, As is the custom here, We must greet new visitors And show them all good cheer.
"Oh, you've touched me," I said, “And taught me, in part That the best of any man Is what is found in his heart."
Well, I felt moved somehow And wanted to meet the shoe man. So after the closing prayer, I reached over and shook his hand.
The rest, I thought This shoe man will never know. Like just how thankful I really am That his dirty old shoe touched my soul. 4
paid to His followers by commanding them to be like Himself (the Light of the world). Be encouraged: we are not left to produce our “own” light; instead we shine with the reflection of God’s radiance and with the presence of Christ. What is the meaning of “the Light?” First, it is something meant to be seen, visible to all men, without secrecy. It is to be noticeable within and without the Church and even more visible in the daily activities of life. How do we treat others – such as – the waiters and waitresses in a restaurant? Do we remember their hourly wages are small and that they depend upon tips for their livelihood? Are we fair with employees or our employer? Do we act out our anger, such as in road rage? Are our vocabulary and actions representative of Jesus? In sports and recreation, do we remember that Jesus is our Companion? And, finally, at home, do we honor our family by words and behavior? The personal space surrounding an individual is - his or her world; are we “the Light of the world?” A light is also a guide, a channel to safety. It makes clear “The Way” as one stands firmly and courageously, doing the right thing, regardless of circumstances. A light also warns us of impending danger, telling us to stop if needed. Although we love those “green lights,” it is the red ones which save us from a shattered existence. Persons have been heard to say, “I don’t care what is said, I am going to do it my way.” Ignoring warning lights is a quick way to disaster, physically and spiritually. Jesus’ words of caution and counsel are often left unheeded as will be our very own at times. Yet, warnings must be given - in love, without condemnation, if we wish to follow our Savior. A light illuminates the darkness yet the Word of God reminds us: “This is the verdict: Light has come into the world, but men loved darkness instead of light because their deeds were evil. Everyone who does evil hates the light, and will not come into the light for fear that his deeds will be exposed. But whoever lives by the truth comes into the light, so that it may be seen plainly that what he has done has been done through God.” MARCH FM: Matthew 5:16
SPANISH TRACTS IN COLOR We recently mentioned that there is a need to print Spanish tracts; however, God answered the present need through a visiting messenger from San Antonio. A kind man brought a large box of colored Spanish tracts as a gift to Christian Triumph. Pastor Israel and his sister, Elena, read the tracts, confirming that they are Christ-centered and that they use simple language. There are six large boxes and even more if we wish to get them. The name on the bottom of the tracts is: Fellowship Tract League from Lebanon, Ohio, with the statement “All tracts are free by provision of God.” This wonderful gift will save our ministry printing, cutting, and folding costs and allow more funds for postage. The Portuguese tracts have needed printing, also, but in searching the old buildings at Christian Triumph, Pastor Israel found several sheets printed, uncut, useable Portuguese tracts. We rejoice in this discovery as Pastor Israel cuts and prepares these tracts for sending. Almost 30 requests – every other week come in from Brazil, and Diana is hoping to use the M-Bags which hold about 20 # and are much cheaper in postage. Praise God for all these extraordinary blessings! (Unusual and remarkable!) +
A LOOK AT THE BOOK OF MATTHEW SERMON ON THE MOUNT Chapter 5 (Reference for this study comes from the Holy Bible as well as the book, The Gospel of Matthew, Volume 1 By William Barclay) Matthew 5:14 & 15, “You are the light of the world. A city which is situated on the top of a mountain cannot be hidden; nor do people light a lamp and put it under a bushel, but on a lampstand; and it gives light for all who are in the house.” Jesus said, “As long as I am in the world, I am the light of the world.” (John 9:5) Therefore, what a noble and splendid mark of respect Jesus 5

A TRUE-LIFE MIRACLE My name is Harold. I don’t really remember much. What I do remember is on August 28, 2006, I was coming home from taking my 16 year old daughter to her band practice at her high school. A vehicle in front of me came to a stop, and I slowed down also, but a man in a pick-up behind me was not watching closely while reaching down to get a food item. He slammed into my vehicle, leaving me unconscious. As I said, “I don’t remember much.” Everyone told me that when the Police and Fire Department arrived, the door was ajar, leaving a way to get me out and then they flew me to the hospital. I had a stroke and brain injuries. The doctor told my family that my brain was swollen so badly that I was not going to make it. My family prayed, and I pulled through. It has been a rough ride, but I am still living (on earth) today because of God’s mercy. There are people who not believe in God, but I ask: “If there was not a God, then who opened the car door for the others to get me out and who kept me alive when the doctor said that I was not gong to make it?” I believe God really taught me something through this – that He is there for us, and He also taught me more patience. There are even Christians that do not know that God is there when we really need Him; He is there, and He will come and save us! Love in Christ, Harold
GOD DOES EVERYTHING RIGHT By Jo In the 40th chapter of Isaiah, the scripture tells us that “those that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength.” When we are patient, our Father God (our Companion) sends the right people into our lives helping and encouraging us. As we wait upon the Lord, He will direct even our thinking, and He is never wrong because He knows us better than anyone. He will even show us where our right place of abode is for the Lord speaks the truth, “I the Lord speak righteousness; I declare things that are right.” (Isaiah 45) As we listen and wait on the Holy Spirit, we will find the right provisions that God has reserved for us. The Psalmist writes in chapter 51, “renew a right spirit within me.” If our dependence and focus is on God, He tells us that He will refresh us. “We shall mount up with wings as eagles; we shall run; and not be weary; we shall walk and not faint.” God’s ways are right. His mercy is everlasting to those who remember His commandments and do them. In love, One of God’s Grandmas.

Jesus is the greatest Restorer of all time, and He loves each of us; our value to Him far exceeds even our greatest hope. “Come unto Me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest…” (Matt. 11) Jesus’ Blood can make the vilest sinner clean. + THE OLD PIANO By Anita I have looked at that old piano many times; it lacks a lot to be desired. The tone quality is in desperate need of a tune-up, and even the music rack is missing. Maybe if one would strip the paint and do a lot of sanding, etc., it would become a piece of elegance again. Just a patient piano tuner could do it a lot of good. Why would a person cherish this bulky old item; yet it is not for me to question – the piano is not mine. Step inside this fashionable home and hear the dear elderly person, characterized by good taste, tenderly speak of this instrument, and then one would discover sentimental value far exceeds materialism. We too, like this piano, need a make-over, for God’s Word tells us that “all have sinned and
