1

MiBike An anti bike theft system that works by pinpointing its geographical location when the user NFC scans with their smartphone. If the bike moves after said scan then the user will be notified via their smartphone and can easily notify others with the app campus security/authorities.

IoT (Internet of Things)

“On average a bicycle is stolen every 67 seconds in the UK”.

Available with all NFC phones.

Creation

The design is inspired by cycling helmets, ďŹ tting with other cycling accessories and also attach on to a discrete location on the bike.

‘DayOut’ An app designed to encourage families to save energy, through the use of game mechanics. Campaign by Sponsored by

Why? “The younger generation do not understand the value of saving energy” “Children do not gain any incentives for saving energy” “As technology and social media progresses it is harder to keep the family together” Clare Pinches, 30, Mother of 2

User

How it works

Technology

The campaign has been designed to show families the importance of energy saving and how much they waste.

‘DayOut’ calculates your energy score by working out how many people are in the house and using a smart meter to record appliances used. The house hold with the lowest score on average at the end of the campaign will win a prize

The app is designed to work alongside a smart meter fitted into the users home.

Families with Children

Families compete against other households to gain incentives, such as going to events together/days out.

PLAY & WIN

This smart meter will measure the household and give the family an energy score in percentages, which are sent to the app.

Game Mechanics Spinning is a game aspect to engage children to win or lose derived from user research. The family will get spins if they complete challenges and have the lowest score at the end of each day.

TOGETHER

Challenges can be sent out by family members to each other, engaging and connecting them. Family also get notifications to emphasise the loss or gain from an event or discount.

Experience Prototyping “Make the competition with other households not family rivalry” “Have the app start to filter suggested content based on previous events and challenges used” Getting back from work.

Making a cup of tea to unwind.

Route Typical route the user will take which depicts them checking on new events and their house score. It also shows the user setting a challenge for one of their family members to do so they can lower the energy score and get the chance to win incentives.

BLACK TIE Design a desirable and unique perfume bottle for a high end market.

“Your model should aim to show that you can construct a number of complex 3D surfaces which are built on appropriate curves and edges and share common, appropriately related and constrained boundaries.

Product The product is inspired by the suit of a man to appeal to a classy, elegant market. It rests on a stand with the ‘body’ area acting as the bottle.

MODEL F To improve an outdoor eating experience on location with the brand ‘Tesla’. The location chosen is for boat drivers in water-sports such as wake-boarding. The problem being that boat drivers do not get time to eat their desired hot food or even the chance. Device needs to be hands free due to nature of job and provide a desirable meal.

‘Hooch’ Widget A promotional give away widget by the brand Hooch. I have designed an injection mould tool to produce the product.

A cork like lid that prevents people spiking your drink and the ability to close the glass bottle after it has been opened.

Widget On Solidworks a plastic ow analysis was done to show feasibility, warp, shrinkage etc. As its injection moulded it identiďŹ es the injection location
