August 2017 Tuesday 1 August
Pray for Prime Minister Netanyahu, for the Commander-in-Chief of the army Eisenkot and President Rivlin. All three of them bear a great responsibility as representatives of the only democracy in the Middle East.
Wednesday 2 August
The four key words to your times of intercession are time, silence, reading, and chutzpah. Take your time – God will make this time extra valuable. Be still – then God’s silence will settle you down. Read the Word – God speaks through His Word. Show chutzpah – daring and courage – to listen and act accordingly.
Thursday 3 August
Pray for the north of Israel, where the population is quite diverse. The area is inhabited by Jews, Arabs (Christians and Muslims), Druze, Christians and new immigrants from various countries working at the holy sites. Pray for their safety and harmony among them.
Friday 4 August
Since the Revolution in 1979, we have not seen any changes in Iran concerning their attitude of enmity towards Israel and the western world. On the contrary! This is difficult to accept, as we have been praying for changes for so long. May we continue to look forward in faith to God’s sovereignty and give thanks that He is bringing His people home. (Ezekiel 28:25-26)
Saturday 5 August Sabbath
David calling out to the Lord is an example of how, we as Christians, can pray for the Jewish people. (Psalm 59:9-12)
Sunday 6 August
Thank the Lord God for His Word and His promises to His people: ‘He is good; His love to Israel endures forever.’ (Ezra 3:11a)
Monday 7 August
Thank God for the Jews making Aliyah to Israel from South America. Five months ago Ben Gigi from Venezuela made Aliyah: ‘I can say that this is the best step I ever took. Here in Israel, I can wear a kippah without problems and be fully Jewish.’
Tuesday 8 August
Pray for the French Jews who have made Aliyah in recent years. Many have difficulty integrating into Israeli society because people feel very different about religion and politics, for instance. France is such a different country compared to Israel.
Wednesday 9 August
Anti-Semitism and anti-Zionism continue to be a many-headed monster, especially in social media, as well as in remarks by politicians in their speeches or articles by journalists. Pray that the Lord God will bring to nought this power of lies and deception.

Thursday 10 August
Pray for the international team of Christians for Israel in Albania, who want to start spreading the message of God’s plan with Israel in Albania. Many have heard about Jesus for the first time in recent years. Pray that the message about Israel will be the necessary supplement for the young Christians to understand God’s Word entirely.
Friday 11 August
In several Arab-Islamic countries, the population of Jews is small – sometimes only a few hundred. Leaving these countries is almost impossible for them. Pray for protection and for the possibility to make Aliyah.
Saturday 12 August Sabbath
There is enmity against the Jewish people, there are lies and smear campaigns, threats of war and terror attacks, false accusations and falsification of history, but the miracle remains: Israel is Alive! Thank God by Lamentations 3:22-23 ‘Because of the Lord’s great compassion we are not consumed.’
Sunday 13 August
One expert from an Italian study centre for religion stated: ‘There are many places on earth where “being a Christian” is the most dangerous action.’ This is certainly true of Christians in the Middle East. Pray for them – they are our brothers and sisters.
Monday 14 August
Pray that the Aliyah from the east, west, north and south (Isaiah 43:1-8) will be successful. Thank God by Psalm 126: ‘The Lord has done great things for them.’
Tuesday 15 August
Thank God, that in the past month the number of tourists visiting Israel has increased by 20-40%. This is not only good for tourism, but also for Israel’s image in the world as tourists get an entirely different impression from what is presented to them in the media.
Wednesday 16 August
Because the Dead Sea is falling dry more and more, fresh water from underground springs bubbles up, which mingles with the salty water. Is this a foreshadowing of Ezekiel 47:1-12? Thank God for His Word.
Thursday 17 August
The battle against the Jewish people is fierce! Psalm 83:14-19 speaks about this. We may pray that Israel’s enemies will become ‘like chaff before the wind... so that men will seek your name, O Lord!’
Friday 18 August
Through financial and logistic support Shiite Iran gains more and more influence in Lebanon and Syria. They are even at the border of Israel. Pray that the Lord will stand up for His people. (Joel 3:16-17)
Saturday 19 August Sabbath
Pray for the politicians and authorities of Israel, that they will be men and women after God’s own heart (Jeremiah 3:15). Pray that God will revive His people (Psalm 85:6).
Sunday 20 August
Pray that authorities in Israel will make correct decisions in agreement with Tanakh (Hebrew Bible). There is so much social unrest in the country, including political and religious opposition. Opinions are squarely opposite.
Monday 21 August
Give thanks the eyes of the Lord your God are continually on Israel from the beginning of the year to its end. (Deuteronomy 11: 11-12) Even though we do not understand all current developments, we can trust that He knows what is necessary to reach His goals.
Tuesday 22 August
Pray for the Jewish communities in Jerusalem, Judea and Samaria, the ‘heartland’ of Israel and Biblical territory. Also, pray for the other inhabitants of these areas. It is a complicated situation, and that is the very reason to intercede.
Wednesday 23 August
In Israel, there is freedom of religion, including for the Messianic Jews. Unfortunately, certain Orthodox groups sometimes disturb their services because of the difference of opinion on who is Messiah. Pray for protection of the Messianic congregations.

Thursday 24 August
Pray that the three initials of the BDS-movement will be turned around by business people into ‘I.I.I.’: Inclusive – do not exclude Israel; Invest – do business with Israel; Interest – be involved with Israel.
Friday 25 August
Behind many great miracles and blessings in Israel’s recent history is the invisible power of interceding Christians. It is inspiring that as intercessors we can share in this. May the Lord bless you in your intercession!
Saturday 26 August Sabbath
It is important as Christians to pray for: 1) the Jewish people; 2) the State of Israel; 3) the peace of Jerusalem. Find information, tune into the Holy Spirit and ask the Lord God what to pray for and how.
Sunday 27 August
The frustration of politicians all over the world about matters they can’t get a grip on often shows itself in anger and ill-behaviour towards Israel. Pray that they will investigate facts first and base their honest judgment on that.
Monday 28 August
Pray that more and more trainers will be educated to spread God’s plan with Israel across the U.S.A. and in the countries of Asia. Thank God, that by doing so, people will start to understand the complete message of the Bible.
Tuesday 29 August
The first Zionist congress was held in Basel, Switzerland, exactly 120 years ago today. The age-old longing for Zion, the City of Jerusalem, was an important source of motivation. (Psalm 137:5-6)
Wednesday 30 August
The enmity between Iran (Shiite) and Saudi Arabia (Sunni) dominates and divides the Middle East more and more. This conflict touches Israel as well. Pray for Israel for wisdom and firmness in making decisions, when they are faced with these conflicts.
Thursday 31 August
Let us have compassion with all inhabitants of Israel and the Middle East, and know who is our adversary when we intercede. (Ephesians 6:12)
September 2017 Friday 1 September
A verse from the Psalms, as you pray for Israel today: ‘Oh, that salvation for Israel would come out of Zion! When the Lord restores His people, let Jacob rejoice, and Israel be glad!’ (Psalm 14:7).
Saturday 2 September Sabbath
The Sabbath is a day of rest after a busy working week, but in the south of Israel, the threat of terror at the border with Gaza is never far away. Pray for the inhabitants, for the children, for the soldiers at the border. Pray for congregations where there is preaching about the restoration of Israel, where there is interest in Biblical prophecy, and where there is an explanation of the books of the Old Testament. Pray for your own congregation as well. Pray for the representative of the USA in the United Nations, Nikki Haley. She is a woman who has a clear stand on Israel on behalf of the Trump administration and substantiates her opinion with facts. Pray that this will have an effect on the departments of the United Nations. There is a clear relationship between the Bible, the restoration of Israel and the second coming of Jesus. This will also become clear in the future – not only for us but to all nations. Jesus will be seated on the throne of David in Jerusalem. Thank God for this future. Praying for Israel is often exhausting, because of the continuous attacks on Israel that affect us too. May we take encouragement from the words of Jesus: ‘Peace be with you! As the Father has sent me, I am sending you.’ (John 20:1923)

Thursday 7 September
Pray for the speaking tour of Rev. Willem Glashouwer in Thailand, 7-18 September. Pray that he will see a harvest after his previous tour in September 2016 and that he will reach many new preachers and pastors with his preaching about Israel. Friday 8 September Almost every Israeli has some warm and precious feelings on the eve of Sabbath. Pray that this will bring them closer to God and His Word and that they will long for His presence. Saturday 9 September In America it is said about ‘Replacement Theology’: ‘They cut the root and stole Sabbath the fruit!’ Pray that believing Christians will turn away from this false teaching. Sunday 10 September In recent years the persecution of Christians has increased at an alarming rate, particularly in the middle east; the Copts in Egypt and the Maronites in Syria and Iraq. Pray for them, knowing that God watches over His Church. (Matthew 16:18) Monday 11 September Prime-Minister Netanyahu is in a politically tricky position. Pray for him as the head of the Israeli government. Pray also for President Rivlin and commanderin-chief Eisenkot. We often do not realise the great responsibility they carry on a daily basis. Tuesday 12 September The Word of God is encouraging when you pray for Israel: ‘I am the Lord, the God of all mankind. Is anything too hard for Me?’ (Jeremiah 32:27) Wednesday 13 September Just outside Metullah, across the border with Lebanon, there are visible banners saying: ‘We are coming!’ On the banners, there is a photo of the Dome of the Rock in Jerusalem and one of Ayatollah Khomeini. Pray that God will defend His people. Thursday 14 September Through political and military influence in Lebanon, Syria, Iraq, Sudan and other countries Iran surrounds the State of Israel with a ring of aggression. Pray that God will intervene and surround Israel with a heavenly guard of angels! Friday 15 September Because of the high cost of living, high taxes and low-income many Israelis have great difficulty to make ends meet monthly. Pray for this by Matthew 25:35a ‘For I was hungry, and you gave Me something to eat.’ Saturday 16 September Pray for the Israeli soldiers for guidance, when they are attacked by a terrorist Sabbath with a knife or when a terrorist drives into them with a car, have to decide in a split second how to counter this attack (Psalm 86:14-17) Sunday 17 September Pray for the inhabitants of Israel who need help. Give thanks that the Lord God will take care of them, of the oppressed and the hungry, of the prisoners and the blind, of the widows and the orphans. (Psalm 146:5-10) Monday 18 September Through UNESCO the Palestinians attempt to rewrite the history of Jerusalem. Not only Jewish history is being rewritten, but Christian history as well! Pray that all Churches will be alerted to this and take action against it. Tuesday 19 September A well-known scripture for you as intercessors is Isaiah 62:6-7. ‘I have posted watchmen on your walls, O Jerusalem...’ These verses time and again summon us to pray for Jerusalem! With all recent developments in Israel, it is certainly good to heed this summons. Wednesday 20 September Turkey, Saudi-Arabia and Iran each strive for power and influence in the Middle East. People play a significant role in the Bible. It is good to know that whatever they do, in the end, they will all be confronted with Jerusalem (Zechariah 14:1619). Thursday 21 September As IS (ISIS) are suffering even more losses in countries of the Middle East, they direct their terror at Jerusalem and western nations. Pray for protection, and give thanks that we can always trust in the God of Israel. Friday 22 September Today and tomorrow, please pray for the yearly conference of Christian Friends of Israel in Great Britain. Rev Willem Glashouwer will speak there about ‘Why Israel?’, and Andrew Tucker about ‘Israel and International Law’. Pray that hearts will be touched.

Saturday 23 September Sabbath
Pray for the elderly who survived the Holocaust and for those who have experienced terror. Give thanks that the Lord God is close to them and they can take shelter with Him. Sunday 24 September Pray for a spirit of humility in the churches, so that Christians learn to bless Israel. In this time of severe spiritual and ecclesiastical crisis, this is badly needed. (Romans 11:11-24) This may be even more necessary for the Church than for Israel. Monday 25 September Thank the Lord God for today we will start working from our new C4I headquarters in the Netherlands. It is a miracle how everything has developed in the last year! With many people cooperating and with thanks to a few Christian businessmen an affordable lease construction was found. Thank God by Psalm 128:1. Tuesday 26 September Today, please pray for the field workers of Christians for Israel in Ukraine. They often have to do their work in exhausting and dangerous circumstances. Pray also for the groups of volunteers that distribute food parcels. Wednesday 27 September Also thank and pray for the many speakers and co-workers of C4I around the world, who work for Israel’s good day after day. They take their inspiration from Scripture, and thereby inspire many other Christians and non-Christians to acquire a vision of Israel. Thursday 28 September Pray that cyber attacks aimed at Israel will not reach their target and that the computer systems of security agencies and military installations will continue to work. As you notice, this month praying for Israel really means fending off the enemy and trusting that God will watch over His people (Psalm 121:4-5). Friday 29 September War against Israel can easily break out over control of territory, the water supply, the status of Jerusalem or because of terrorism or anti-Zionism. Pray for the peace of Jerusalem (Psalms 122 and 130). Saturday 30 September From sundown yesterday evening till sundown today it is Yom Kippur – the Day Sabbath of Atonement. Thank God, that the majority of Israelis fast during this whole season, visit all services in the synagogues, and seek God earnestly.
