Mission Our mission is to bring Biblical understanding in the Church and among the nations concerning God’s purposes for Israel and to promote comfort of Israel through prayer and action. Vision Our vision is to establish a global ‘Christians for Israel’ network having effective national impact, for the blessing of the nation of Israel, the Jewish people, the Church and the nations. Beliefs We believe that the Bible is the inspired Word of God, through which He reveals His loving purposes for all creation. God chose the nation of Israel as His instrument for the blessing of all nations. The Bible teaches us that although the nation of Israel has been ‘hardened in part’, God still loves His chosen people Israel. The Church has not replaced Israel. God’s covenants with the nation of Israel are everlasting. He is restoring Israel in the last days as part of His greater plan of creation and redemption. We believe that God will fulfil all His promises to Israel and all His promises to the Church.
INTRODUCTION We are living in momentous times. The rise of radical Islam in the Middle East and Northern Africa, financial instability, natural disasters, diminishing natural energy sources – these and other issues are presenting mankind with new and existential challenges. Yet, despite the challenges, we are also witnesses to a modern miracle: the Jewish people are returning to Israel, the land of their forefathers, and to Jerusalem, the city to which Jesus will return, and which God has said will be the centre of His Kingdom of peace. These issues present us with a number of important questions: • Is the return of the Jewish people to Israel over the last century a fulfilment of Biblical prophecy, and a sign of hope pointing toward the coming of the Lord Jesus Christ? Or is it merely a political phenomenon without any particular spiritual significance? • What responsibility, if any, do we carry as Christians today in light of the global rise of anti-Semitism, and the on-going threats to the existence of the Jewish state of Israel? In Matthew 24, Jesus states that the Gospel of the Kingdom will be preached to all the nations, and then the end of this phase of world history will come. He says that when the fig tree comes back to life, then the Kingdom is right at hand, and the next phase of world history will begin. We believe that we are in that phase of history now. In Romans 11, the Apostle Paul reminds Gentile Christians that we have been grafted by grace into God’s olive tree. We are the ‘wild branches’, the Jewish people are the natural branches. They have been cut off for a time, but will be re-grafted into their own olive tree. “Israel has experienced a hardening in part until the full number of the Gentiles has come in, and in this way all Israel will be saved. As it is written, ‘the Saviour will come from Zion; He will turn godlessness away from Jacob. And this is my covenant with them. When I take away their sins’. As far as the gospel is concerned they are enemies for your sake; but as far as election is concerned, they are beloved on account of the patriarchs, for God’s gift and call are irrevocable.” (Romans 11:25-27) The restoration of the Jewish people (nationally and spiritually) is therefore closely connected with the return of Jesus Christ as head of the Church, Messiah of Israel, and King of the nations. Christians for Israel seeks to bring a Biblical witness to the churches about the coming of God’s Kingdom; to warn the nations; to comfort Israel; and to help the Church to prepare for the Coming of the Lord. We are a network of national ministries, active in over 40 countries worldwide. National Christians for Israel Affiliates are established under the laws and regulations applicable in each nation. Christians for Israel International (‘C4I International’) is a non-profit foundation (‘Stichting’) established under Dutch law. Its function is to act as the ‘hub in the wheel’ of the international C4I network.

THE GLOBAL CHRISTIANS FOR ISRAEL MOVEMENT Since its establishment in The Netherlands in 1979, the Christians for Israel (‘C4I’) ministry has developed into a global movement of local Christians for Israel operations which are independent, yet share a common vision: to create a worldwide network of local C4I organizations and partners that are effective at the local level and financially self-sustaining, and which seek to fulfill the same mission, vision, values and beliefs. Each national C4I Affiliate, representative and partner is responsible for achieving the C4I Mission, Vision, Values and Beliefs in its own jurisdiction. The national Affiliates enter into an Affiliation Agreement with C4I International, confirming their commitment to the global movement, and the core Christians for Israel Mission, Vision, Values and Beliefs.

OVERVIEW OF ACTIVITIES (JANUARY 2014 – JUNE 2015) Regional and national ministry development The C4I International leadership team worked closely with the Regional Directors and national teams from January 2014 - June 2015 on a number of initiatives. Here are some highlights. Europe • About 300 people gathered on 13th January 2014 at the head office of the PGGM pension fund in Zeist, in the Netherlands, to show their opposition to PGGM’s decision to terminate their investments in five of the largest banks in Israel. A delegation of C4I Netherlands, including director Roger van Oordt and chairman Dick Schutte, was invited by the executive board of PGGM to talk about the issue. At the meeting Chief Rabbi Binyomin Jacobs of the Netherlands was present, to show PGGM that the matter is also a great concern for the Jewish community in the Netherlands. PGGM later reversed its decision. • On 7th January 2014, Christians for Israel Italy (Cristiani per Israele) organized a major event in partnership with other organizations to open the exhibition about Sports, Athletes and the Olympic Games in Europe during the Second World War. Through iconography and historical accuracy, the exhibition attracted a wide audience to the theme of sport as a focal lens to read and interpret the history of the rise of Nazism in Europe and the Second World War. Particular attention was paid to how sport during Fascism and Nazism has been used by regimes as a propaganda tool to spread racist ideologies, as well as an instrument of opposition and resistance by some athletes who challenged the dictatorships in the name of freedom of conscience. • In February 2014 Rev. Willem Glashouwer spoke at a number of events organized in Brussels by our partner Evangelos Evangelides. • In April 2014, Rev. Glashouwer taught at a conference organized by Ebenezer Operation Exodus in Tallin, Estonia for Ebenezer’s Nordic/Baltic region leaders. • On Saturday 15th April 2014, C4I Austria, organized a powerful seminar in Linz in cooperation with TOS ministries on the theme ‘breaking the veil of silence.’ About 300 people from nearly all the Austrian provinces heard excellent and touching teachings by Jobst Bittner, Head Pastor of TOS ministries Tübingen, and Austrian pastors, Helmuth Eiwen and Jakob Krämer, who taught on ‘Austria and the veil of silence – how has Austria dealt with her past unto these days’. The seminar was followed by the ‘March of Life’ on April 6, 2014. Contemporary witnesses, Holocaust survivors and their descendants participated in the ‘March of Life’, which was intended not only to be an act of commemoration and reconciliation, but also to voice a loud and clear ‘Never Again!’ against the rising modern anti- Semitism of our time and to express solidarity with Israel. • Together with C4I Ukraine, C4I International organized for a group of over 30 Christians from several nations to 07
participate in the March of the Living in Poland on April 28, 2014. The main purpose of this 3.5 km march from Auschwitz I to the Selection Point of Auschwitz-Birkenau was to proclaim: Never again! The March of the Living was followed by a very impressive Ceremony at Auschwitz to remember all those who perished during the Holocaust. Another group traveled to Poland to join the March of the Living on 16th of April 2015. March of the Living 2014

• Marie-Louise Weissenböck, Chairwoman of C4I Austria, was awarded the ‘Prisca Award 2014’ at a conference in Upper Austria on the 11th of October 2014. ‘Prisca’ is the ‘Forum for women in leadership’ of the Evangelical Alliance. Monika Faes of the EA and chair of the Forum stated: “We acknowledge Marie-Louise’s commitment to the Jewish people, which is biblically founded and thus also her endeavor to build bridges. Through her work she becomes a blessing for many people and again and again confirms the statement made in Romans 11:18: “It is not you who support the root, but the root supports you.” • In 2013, several Dutch Jewish organizations asked C4I Netherlands to cooperate in building the largest menorah in the world. In 2014, the menorah was erected in Urk, a former island in the Netherlands where the inhabitants traditionally have a strong connection with Israel and the Jewish people. The Menorah – a huge construction of about 12 meters high – was officially lit on the second day of Hanukah, Thursday December 18th 2014, by the Chief Rabbi of the Netherlands, Binyomin Jacobs, in the presence of several dignitaries. This unique event was a sign of friendship and appreciation of Dutch Christians with Israel and the Jewish communities worldwide. • Speaking tours were organized for Rev. Glashouwer by Ebenezer Operation Exodus in Russia in August/September and December 2014, and June 2015. During these intensive programs, Rev. Glashouwer spoke to hundreds of pastors and students at meetings from St. Petersburg to Vladivostok.

Glashouwer visited Denmark again in June 2015 for the launch of the Danish version of the book ‘Why Israel?’ by one of the biggest Christian publishers in Denmark. • For his outstanding commitment to German-Israeli and Christian-Jewish dialog, Harald Eckert was awarded the ‘Golden Olive Branch’ by the Jewish National Fund – Keren Kayemeth LeIsrael (JNF-KKL) e.V. – at the ‘Natürlich für Israel Kongress’ in Stuttgart in February 2015. The choice of Eckert for the award was made against the backdrop of the 50th anniversary of official relations between Germany and Israel, in recognition of Eckert’s public work on behalf of Israel for over 30 years. • The investigation report of the United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHCR) on the 2014 Gaza War and the alleged human rights violations by the Israeli army was presented on the 29th of June 2015 in Geneva, Switzerland. Together with members and supporters of more than 80 Jewish and Christian NGOs, C4I Affiliates from Germany, Austria, Italy and the Netherlands showed their solidarity with the Israeli people by going to Geneva on the day the UN investigation report was presented. With over 1,000 participants from around the world they protested in front of the United Nations building against the unilateral UN report, in support of the State of Israel.

Africa • C4I Regional Director – East Africa, Drake Kanaabo – an evangelist who has organized large-scale campaigns in many countries in Africa and all over the world – invited Rev. Glashouwer to join him on a three-day campaign in Ethiopia to bring the Biblical message about Israel. Meetings were organized in Addis Ababa from 31st March – 4th April 2014. During these two days, 100-150 pastors were totally surprised and immensely grateful and enthusiastic to hear about Gods everlasting Covenants with Israel and the fulfillment of Biblical prophecies. Following the conference, a committee was commissioned to establish Christians for Israel in Ethiopia. • Harald Eckert (Chairman C4I International) and Drake Kanaabo (Chairman Christians for Israel Uganda, Regional Director – East Africa) visited Zambia, South Africa, Swaziland, Uganda, Kenya and Ethiopia over 10 days, from 21st – 29th June 2014. The main purposes of this tour were to strengthen the C4I network in this part of the world, and to present the vision of prayer for Israel in general and of the Global Prayer Call 2015 in particular. According to Eckert: “We had a great sense of the historical, Biblical, spiritual and political almost unique significance of Ethiopia within the African continent. Putting these two dimensions together we were touched by a great sense of potential and purpose as for Ethiopia. This was confirmed to us by the meetings in Ethiopia where in the morning we preached at one of the largest ‘full gospel churches’ of Addis with about 1,000 attendees.” The response during the whole tour was overwhelming and the young C4I teams were strengthened. Eckert: “We had a great sense of God’s timing, and a great urgency and blessing to move things forward. All the local teams seem to have a high potential to spread the C4I vision and mission to the Church in their countries and to a varying degree also on a national/government level”.

er in Bangkok and Chiang Mai at the beginning of March 2014. This was his second visit to Thailand, where more churches open their doors for the important message about Israel and the End Times. Shortly before the tour, the printer finished the Thai edition of Rev. Glashouwer’s book Why End Times? Hundreds of copies of this book and the Why Israel? book were sold during these meetings, at which Rev. Glashouwer spoke to about 1,500 pastors, leaders and staff of churches. As a result of these meetings, many new opportunities were created to speak and teach about God’s purposes with Israel, the Church and the nations. • In May 2014, Willem Glashouwer Andrew Tucker and Rev. Two seminars were held in Jakarta and the other seminars took place in Jayapura and Biak, two cities in the province of Papua, Indonesia. The seminars in Jayapura were the first C4I seminars in Papua. We were overwhelmed by the enthusiasm of the people in those three cities, who listened attentively to the message about ‘Why Israel?’ and many are looking forward to hear about the next theme ‘Why End Times?’ The first seminar in Jayapura was attended by more than 800 participants, which was the highest number of participants in a seminar ever in that city. The seminar in Biak was hosted by Gereja Bethel Indonesia Rock and the other two seminars in Jakarta were hosted by Gereja Bethel Indonesia, Glow Fellowship Centre and Eben Hazer. Those pastors are part of a network of 80 pastors in the wider Hyderabad region under the leadership of Shalom-Ministries, led by pastor Sundar. The theme of both conferences was ‘Global Prayer Call for Israel’. The response was very positive and open and, at the end, pastor Sundar presented a strategic plan as to how Christians from all over India could be invited and ‘mobilized’ for this prayer campaign in 2015. • C4I Philippines leader Rev. Harald Eckert: “A very special topic has been my testimony as a German from the perspective of anti-Semitism but also from the testimony of the reunification of Germany. The reunification of Korea is probably the top prayer topic for the praying Korean Church. This was a very special connection on considering this issue from the perspective on how the Lord is dealing with the nations. I encouraged the participants: As they will continue and grow to bless Israel, God will bless them and reward them in their longing for national reunification”. • Rev. Glashouwer and Rev. Conrado Lumahan, National Director of C4I Philippines, were the guest speakers and lecturers for ‘Standing With Israel For Such A Time As This’ Conference that was held from January 29-30, 2015 at BCF Convention Center, Tabuk City, Kalinga, Philippines. In the course of four intensive days, they shared experiences, heard testimonies, visited several projects supported by Christians for Israel, prayed together, and made plans for the further development of the C4I ministry. Some highlights: • Rev. Willem Glashouwer introduced the new edition of his book Why Jerusalem? (part 2 in the trilogy Why Israel?, Why Jerusalem? and Why End Times?). • Harald Eckert and Andrew Tucker outlined the plans to consolidate the further growth of the ministry – this includes organizing regional and national training conferences and resources, further strengthening the international head office, and establishing a stronger presence in Israel. • Evangelist Drake Kanaabo (Regional Director – East Africa) explained how C4I leadership teams have now established in twelve nations in eastern, southern and central Africa. • Elemi Samson (Regional Director – Central/West Africa) described the difficult and challenging work of reaching intothese vast nations with the C4I message. A big problem is lack of physical and financial resources to do the work. • The team in USA is being consolidated, and plans are underway for establishment of regional hubs in different parts of the USA. • The ministry is spreading strongly in Asia. Regional Director Wilson Ng described the great hunger for teaching of God’s word in Korea, China, Indonesia, India, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, and Taiwan. Rev. Conrado Lumahan described how C4I has become well-known throughout the Philippines. The next Asian Leadership conference will be held in Myanmar in late November 2015. • Plans were launched at the Forum for the establishment of a new C4I office in Brazil, under able leadership of 13

Pastor Valerie Nogueira. • The strong delegation of C4I New Zealand (led by Graeme Lee) was accompanied by Lepani and Salote Mokupana, the new C4I leaders in Fiji. From the regional head office in Auckland, contacts are now being made with Christian leaders in several nations in the Pacific Islands, such as Solomon Islands. • C4I Australia leaders Ian and Mandy Worby explained that the ministry in Australia is growing steadily, partly thanks to the strategic partnership with United Christian Broadcasters (UCB). This is offering a platform for further outreach into South East Asia. There is much potential in Australia, but it will be necessary to engage additional staff in order to take the ministry to a higher level. • The C4I team from Ukraine described the humanitarian emergency arising from the critical situation in the eastern part of Ukraine. C4I is providing assistance to many Jewish refugees, and facilitating their emigration to Israel in close cooperation with the Jewish Agency for Israel. • The C4I teams in Europe (Netherlands, Germany, Belgium, Italy, Austria, Switzerland, UK) welcomed their newest member – Eduart and his wife Bona Demo from Albania, who were visiting Israel for the first time (with their two small sons). • In recognition of the need to further engage the younger generation, plans were launched to establish an international young adults ministry, together with the young adults ministries that have already been established in Netherlands (Isreality) and Germany (IsraelConnect). • Approximately 100 people attended the reception held on Thursday 7th May 2015 in celebration of the return of the Jewish people to Israel. Rev. Willem Glashouwer emphasized the importance of understanding the eternal significance of God’s covenants with Israel, as expressed in what Christians call the ‘Old Testament’. Israeli Rabbi David Brodman (Savyon Centre) expressed his joy and deep gratitude to Christians for Israel for its work in fighting anti-Semitism and raising awareness amongst Christians of God’s purposes with Israel and the Jewish people. Michael Freund (Shavei Israel), having described the return of the ‘ten lost tribe’ in accordance with God’s word, introduced by an inspiring traditional dance performance by members of the Bnei Menasse community. • The Forum participants were greatly inspired by visits to Aleh, Hineni, and First Home in the Homeland – some of the projects supported by Christians for Israel. • All were deeply touched by the Shabbat evening led so graciously by Benjamin Philip (Director – Hineni Jerusalem). • Analyst Jonathan Spyer (Director of the Rubin Centre and Editor of the Middle East Review of International Affairs (MERIA)) gave an extremely lucid lecture on the developments in the Middle East, and the external threats facing Israel. • Natan Sharansky (Chairman Jewish Agency for Israel) spoke about growing anti-Semitism worldwide, and the need to be ready for greater waves of aliyah in the coming time. He expressed deep gratefulness for the friendship and work of Christians for Israel, and the hope that we will work even more closely together in the future.
COMMUNICATIONS AND PR Websites and social media C4I websites are maintained in English, Dutch, German, Italian and Russian. An inventory was made of the current websites. We also analysed how we can present Christians for Israel in a uniform way in different nations and in new language areas. C4I International sends out a monthly newsletter ‘The Messenger’ which includes news from the C4I network. Fifteen editions of this newsletter were sent in the reporting period to 3,500 email addresses. S ocial Media: Christians for Israel International is active on Facebook (over 2,500 active users) and YouTube. Several national affiliates are active on Social Media as well. www.facebook.com/c4israel | www.youtube.com/c4israel Newspapers In January 2014, a new editorial team took over responsibility for the English-language edition of our newspaper, Israel & Christians Today. C4I New Zealand Leader Graeme Lee assumed the role of Publisher and C4I International Director Andrew Tucker as Editor-in-chief. The goal of Israel & Christians Today is to help Christians to take God’s Word seriously, and study current events in the world in the context of the Bible. First published in The Netherlands in the early 1980s, the English, Dutch and German-language editions of Israel & Christians Today are now published by the various C4I Affiliates in the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Australia, New Zealand, USA, UK/Europe and Africa. Together, each published edition of the newspaper was delivered in 2014/2015 to about 100,000 addresses worldwide. Why Israel - website and newsletters The website www.whyisrael.org is updated daily, containing a selection of current articles and videos that have to do with Israel. The website has four categories: Opinion, Bible Study, History, Prophecy. The website can also be used as database to search on specific themes. Each week, the ‘Whyisrael?’ e-newsletter was sent in 2014/2015 to about 3,800 email addresses. In 2014/2015, a new French language version of the whyisrael.org website was prepared and launched under leadership of C4I International and coordinated by a team based in Brussels: www.pourquoiisrael.org. EDUCATIONAL RESOURCES AND MEDIA C4I International develops and publishes a core package of teaching and educational materials. This includes books, brochures, DVDs, PowerPoint presentations etc. All of these materials are available for the national Affiliates to produce and disseminate in their country. The Regional Directors, together with the International office, are
responsible for ensuring that these materials are translated into new languages available (printed and distributed) in each region. In 2014 we released the new DVD teaching series Why Israel? (10 episodes of 25 minutes) with presenter Rev. Willem J.J. Glashouwer, including an accompanying Study Guide. We have also welcomed some new language versions of the books Why Israel? (Albanian, Korean and Telugu) and Why End Times? (Thai). The book Why Israel? (written by Rev. Glashouwer) is now available in over 30 languages. The book Why End Times? (also written by Rev. Glashouwer) has about ten different language versions. In 2015 we released the book Why Jerusalem?, and thus completing the Why Israel? Trilogy. Another book that was added to the C4I International Resources Catalogue was ‘Israel, the Nations and the Valley of Decision’, authored by C4I Chairman Harald Eckert. This book was written in preparation of the Global Prayer Call campaign (early 2015) as a challenge and encouragement for people to pray for the nations and the churches in the nations to act fairly towards Israel and bless Israel. It has been translated into several languages, among which German, French, Italian, Spanish, Rumanian, Russian, Swedish, Dutch and Polish. In addition to the release of the DVD series and the books, C4I International has produced several brochures on different topics. During his worldwide tours, Rev. Glashouwer was invited as a guest speaker in several TV programs around the globe, thus also expanding the C4I international media network. In February 2015 Rita Quartel, Manager Media & Resources, attended the NRB (National Religious Broadcasters) Convention in Nashville, USA, to enlarge the (media) network in order to optimize the marketing possibilities of all resources available.
PRAYER • C4I International Chairman Harald Eckert was the Initiator in 2014 of the Global Prayer Call – a unique prayer initiative marking 70 years after the liberation of Auschwitz (January 1945) and end of the Second World War (May 1945). The Global Prayer Call (GPC) is a joint initiative of Christians for Israel, Ebenezer Operation Exodus and the European Coalition for Israel. • In 2014, several editions of the Christians for Israel Prayer Letter were published and distributed in English, Dutch and Russian. Global Prayer Call Conference in Krakow January 2015 - 70 years after the liberation of Auschwitz Concentration Camp Approximately 300 participants from over 20 different nations on 4 continents gathered from January 25-29, 2015 in Krakow, Poland to commemorate the Holocaust and to launch 100 days of prayer for Israel, the nations and the Church. Under the leadership of Harald Eckert (Germany) and Henryk Wieja (Poland), the first half of the conference was focused on the history of 1,800 years of Christian anti-Semitism in Europe. Special attention was paid to the indifference of European nations in the face of growing Nazi persecution in the 1930’s and their culmination under Nazi leadership in the Holocaust. This was followed by a visit to Auschwitz con16
centration camp – for some a first-time experience, and for all a deeply moving and challenging experience. C4I International President Willem Glashouwer’s message on the ‘Kingdom of God’ and the ‘holy remnant in the end times’ contributed powerfully to the kick-off of the conference. This provided the basis for the second full day of the conference, which included intensive worship and prayer and the launching of the 100 days of prayer. On the evening of 27th January, the European Coalition for Israel and the Jewish Community of Krakow jointly invited the participants to a concert of commemoration, which was attended by several Holocaust survivors, members of the diplomatic world, and representatives of a number of churches as well as the Mayor of Krakow. A deeply moving evening!

Global Prayer Call Conference – Jerusalem, 10th – 12th May 2015 From 10th to 12th May 2015, about 400 participants from over 35 nations of all continents came together in Jerusalem in order to look back to the 100 days of prayer and (partial) fasting, bring this period to a close and ask the Lord for how to keep up the prayer momentum for the nations in their relationship to Israel in the future. During these days, there were many presentations, times of corporate and group prayer, and worship. It was great to experience the different leaders and speakers blending together so well. Willem Glashouwer (Christians for Israel) and Antti Hämäläinen as Bible teachers, Henry Wieja and Pete Stucken (Ebenezer) as moderators, Tomas Sandell and the team from the European Coalition of Israel as those being in direct dialogue with political leaders and decision makers, Rick Ridings as worship and prayer leader from Jerusalem and Harald Eckert as visionary and initiator of the GPC. The general sense of the leadership as well as the participants at the end of the conference was that the prayer momentum in prayer for Israel and the nations must continue to grow and expand. In the final message Harald Eckert called for the praying Church around the world, to understand the signs of the times and continue to seek the Lord as to how to keep the momentum on prayer for Israel and the nations alive and growing. Special emphasis was given to the need for the different giftings in the Church coming into greater unity as well as the three generations moving forward together in mutual respect and unity.

SUPPORTING ALIYAH AND HUMANITARIAN PROJECTS IN ISRAEL Christians for Israel International partnered with the national Affiliates in 2014-2015 to raise funds for the following projects: Bring The Jews Home - Aliyah and integration • Ukrainian Olim C4I Ukraine Leader Koen Carlier leads a team of dedicated workers who help Ukrainian Jews who want to emigrate (make aliyah) to Israel, to be at the right locations, so they can collect and fill in all the necessary documents. Most of the olim are elderly people, living far away from the city, without means of transportation. Koen and his team drive these olim to the embassy in Kiev and finally to the airport. When Koen and his team say farewell at the airport they always say: “We want to pray with you, that the Lord may plant you and bless you in the land of you forefathers”. • India: Bnei Menashe The Bnei Menashe (sons of Manasseh) claim descent from one of the Ten Lost Tribes of Israel. After wandering for centuries, their ancestors settled in what is now north-east India, near the border with Burma (Myanmar) and Bangladesh. Throughout their sojourn in exile, the Bnei Menashe continued to practice Judaism, including observing the Sabbath, keeping kosher, celebrating the festivals and following the laws of family purity. And they continued to nourish the dream of one day returning to Israel. C4I works with Shavei Israel, led by Michael Freund, who in recent years has brought some 1,700 Bnei Menashe back home to Zion. Another 7,200 still remain in India, waiting for the day when they too will be able to return to Israel. In 2014, donations raised by Christians for Israel enabled Shavei Israel to bring 850 Bnei Menashe home to Israel. • Former Soviet Union (Ebenezer Operation Exodus) Since 2004, Christians for Israel has a strategic partnership with Ebenezer Operation Exodus (‘Operation Exodus’). Operation Exodus assists Jews to make aliyah to Israel, and has operations throughout the world, including the Former Soviet Union. Funds raised by C4I Affiliates worldwide in 2014 enabled the Ebenezer bases to visit almost 7,000 potential olim families, bring 1672 olim to visit the Israeli consul in their country, 3923 olim to make aliyah, and 4048 food parcels to be distributed. Education • Study Center for Jewish education in Savyon At the Center for Jewish Studies in Savyon Rabbi David Brodman aims to teach the children of Israel about their own identity and history, to promote unity and to change behaviour for the good. Each month the center teaches a thousand children about Judaism. The children come from all over the country. Not only do children come to the center, students and groups of army soldiers also come to Savyon to learn more about Judaism. And the 18
number of applications for courses is still growing. • The Jaffa Institute Christians for Israel has been supporting the Jaffa Institute for three decades. The boarding school of the Jaffa Institute in Beth Shemesh provides a home to children who come from an extremely difficult home situation. Many children come from families with only one parent or an absent father, deceased, sick or in prison. All children at the Beth Shemesh boarding school are referred to the school by social workers. Most parents are very poor and cannot pay for education. In the past 28 years, thousands of young people received their diploma through the Jaffa Institute and with that a chance to succeed in life. During the six years that these children are in the school, they make a huge step forward to become responsible adults, to have their own families, loyal to their faith and loyal to their country. The Jaffa Institute currently provides accommodation and schooling for 4,500 children. Christians for Israel helps the Jaffa Institute to provide food for these children. Survivors of the Shoah • Amcha The Second World War ended more than seventy years ago. But for most survivors the Holocaust never ended. They struggle on a daily base with massive trauma, despite all the good help. Amcha provides psychological support to survivors of the Shoah. • Monuments in Ukraine Throughout Ukraine more than 1.7 million Jewish people were buried alive or shot by special SS troops during the Holocaust. One still finds unknown mass graves. C4I Ukraine cooperates and contributes financially to place Holocaust Memorial Monuments at Jewish mass graves where there is no memorial or reminder. Jewish Communities in Judea and Samaria Christian Friends of Israeli Communities (CFOIC) enables Christians to connect with the Jewish communities (settlements) in Judea and Samaria - the birthplace and heartland of the Jewish people. Christian Friends of Israeli Communities was established in 1995 in response to the Oslo Process. Christians around the world were deeply troubled by Israel’s major territorial concessions and felt drawn to the people that stood on the forefront of Israel’s territorial battle – the people of Judea and Samaria. CFOIC provided a much-needed vehicle for Christians to become better informed about events in Israel, particularly with regard to the Jewish communities in the heartland of Biblical Israel, to visit these areas and become personally connected to the people living there, and to provide practical support for vital community needs. CFOIC aims to build bridges of love and mutual respect between Christians and Jews. CFOIC brings unconditional support to the Jewish communities and partners with the dedicated pioneers of Biblical Israel to fulfil Biblical prophecy. Christians for Israel assists CFOIC to build the communities in the heartland of Israel. Food support for the hungry and poor Israel is known for its prosperity, economic stability and high standard of living. What we often don’t realize is that there is another side to Israeli society. Hundreds of thousands of Israeli’s live in harsh conditions of poverty and hunger. Many of them depend on charity projects to help them. Christians for Israel provides meals for the homeless and hungry, through its partnership with the Jaffa Institute headed by Rabbi David Portowicz and the Hineni Center in Jerusalem headed by Benjamin Philip. Arab Christians Pastor Naim Khoury, together with his wife, is the founder of the First Baptist Church
(FBC), with Arab congregations in Jerusalem, Bethlehem and Jericho. Pastor Khoury’s son Steven is now also one of the leaders of the ministry. The FBC has many different ministries, including: choirs, children’s ministries, education and feeding the hungry. The FBC is one of the few Arab Christian churches that teaches openly about God’s faithfulness towards Israel and the Jewish people. As a result, Pastor Khoury and his family and congregation have suffered much persecution at the hands of those who hate Israel. It is not easy for Christians to live in Bethlehem (Christians are now only about 10% of the population). For many Arab Christians the FBC is a hiding place, especially for those who believe in God’s faithfulness towards his people Israel. In 2014, Christians for Israel donated almost US$30,000 for the work of FBC, and US$30,000 for poor families.
