J-STD-001 CERTIFICATION
This certification is the industry standard and will teach you all the specifics for a wide range of topics regarding electronics production. TOPICS INCLUDES:
• Soldering Wire and Terminal connections. • Soldering Through-Hole components. • Soldering SMT components, including Fine Pitch. • Identifying and using the correct tools. • Understanding industry vocabulary. • Inspecting and recognizing the criteria for all solder connections. • Selecting the right solder, flux, and solder paste.

• The proper way to clean equipment. • Electrostatic Discharge (ESD). • Hands-on soldering and inspecting of five types of terminal connections. • Using Lead and Lead-Free alloys. After completing this course, you’ll have a sharp eye and all hands-on techniques for producing highly-detailed, highly-technical electronics. COURSE DESCRIPTION The certificate course consist of Modules 1, 2, 3 and Modules 4 and 5. Each Module builds on to the next, as each knowledge and skills learned. Students must completed Modules1,2 and 3 with passing score of 70 before taking Modules 4 and 5. For each modular training 1-5, the certificate will include endorsement blocks for each module of instruction. The Certified IPC Trainer will initial and add the date for each module that is successfully completed with a passing score of 70 on each exam. TSC will issue two certificate to its student. The first certificate issue will be TSC’s school certificate of completion for each session. The second certificate issued will be the Certified IPC Specialist (CIS) certification.
The Certified IPC Trainer will teach students the basics: everything from recognizing specific parts to the daily routine of working in an electronic company. This hands-on training will help not only with becoming certified, but will also help with securing jobs. The course includes instruction on: • The structure and layouts of a typical electronic production plant. • The types of products currently being manufactured. • How to handle and protect ESD (electrostatic discharge) products. • How to read blueprints and follow technical instructions. • Recognizing electronic products such as components, diodes, transistors, etc. • How to form and prep electronic components. • Setting up, operating, and cleaning tools. • Techniques and skills practice to become an efficient and practiced solderer.

The Certificate from IPC for session A and B have the same title (Certified IPC Specialist) only the endorsement blocks will show which category the individual has been trained and certified on. Session A: Module 1, 2, 3 are offered in the evening from 4 pm to 8 pm week days. This course consist of 4 weeks to be completed. For each modular training, the certificate will include endorsement blocks for each module of instruction. The Certified IPC Trainer will initial and add the date for each module that is successfully completed with a passing score of 70 on each exam. Students will receive two certificates: one from TSC for completing 80 hours of IPC course and the second certificate from IPC for successfully passing module 1, 2 and 3. The first 18 hours course will cover the basic terminology, structure and layouts. You will learn in-depth details of types of manufactured products produced and IPC standards procedures used in prepping electronic components, set up, operating and cleaning tools. The remaining 52 hours will cover hands on training where you will learn soldering procedures and technique; and how to Identify tools, and inspect terminal connections. (Non-credit) In order to register for Module 4 and 5, student must complete Modules 1-3 with a passing score of 70. Session B: Module 4 and 5 are offered on Saturday 8 am to 12pm. This course meets four Saturdays for 4 hours for a total of 16 hours. Module 4, students will spend 4 hours of class instruction and 5 hours of lab time. Module 5, students will spend 4 hours of class instruction and 3 hours of lab time. For each modular training, the certificate will include endorsement blocks for each module of instruction. Students who completed modules 4 and 5 with a passing score of 70 percent will receive two certificates: one from TSC for completing the 16 hours of IPC course and the second certificate from IPC for successfully passing module 4 and 5. (Non-credits) *Students may register for both session at the same time.

FEES AND MATERIALS Session A: Course module 1, 2 and 3—80 hours cost:$1,500 Session B: Course module 4 and 5 —16 hours cost: $1000 *Prerequisite requirement: Module 1 (TSC do not offer distance learning course) The tuition cost covers all materials and equipment used during instruction. The course book is available in Spanish, Chinese, Russian, and more, though instruction will be conducted only in English. Applicants should be able to speak and read basic English.

REFUND POLICY REGISTER AND NOTIFICATION ALL STUDENTS MUST COMPLETE AND SUBMIT REGISTERATION FORM AND PAY THE COURSE FEES IN FULL TO BE ACCEPTED PRIOR TO THE STARTS OF A SESSION. A STUDENT ACCEPTANCE OR DENIED WILL BE NOTIFFIED IN WRITING WITHIN TEN BUSINESS DAYS OF SUBMITTING REGISTRATION FORM. IF A STUDENT IS DENIED ALL FEES WILL BE REFUNDED, CANELLATION
FOR A REFUND, A STUDENT MUST MEET THE FOLLOWING CRITIERIAS: Refund Policy/Buyer's Right to Cancel Each student will be notified of acceptance/rejection in writing. In the event a student is rejected, all tuition, fees and other charges will be refunded. Notwithstanding anything to the contrary, if a student gives written notice of cancellation within five business days of the execution of the contract or day on which the student is accepted, then a complete refund is given regardless of whether the program has started. If a student gives a written notice of cancellation after five business days of the execution of the contract or day on which the student is accepted, but before the start of the program by the school, then all tuition, fees and other charges, except 15 percent of the total cost of the program (15 percent not to exceed $50.00) shall be refunded to the student. If a student gives written notice of cancellation after the start of the period of instruction for which the student has been charged, but before completion of 75 percent of the period of instruction, then student is assessed a pro rata portion of tuition, fees and all other charges based on the number of days in the term plus 25 percent of the total program cost (25 percent not to exceed $100.00.)

Any notice of cancellation shall be acknowledged in writing within 10 business days of receipt of such notice and all refunds shall be forwarded to the student within 30 business days of receipt of such notice. This refund policy is not linked to any student conduct policy and any promissory instrument shall not be negotiated prior to the completion of 50 percent of the course, Written notice of cancellation shall take place on the date the letter of cancellation is postmarked or, in the case where the notice is hand carried, it shall occur on the date the notice is delivered to the school. The date of execution of the enrollment agreement shall be presumed to be the date of delivery of the notice of acceptance: and if delivered by mail, the postmark date of the letter of acceptance.
