1. Introduction + check-in

3. Tre tips om læring

#1 - PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT Dweck has studied the behavior of several thousand children, and finds that students taught a growth mindset learn and growth especially through difficult tasks, while kids who are praised for intelligence declines. (“Not yet”) -

Carol Dweck, The Journey to Children’s Mindsets, 2017 (Child Development Perspectives, 11(2), p139-144)

Two groups of kids were tested. First group was told they got compared with the classmates. The other group got told they got compared to their own progress since last test. Guess who did best -

#2 - PASSION “The science shows that the secret to high performance isn’t our biological drive or our reward-and-punishment drive, but our third drive - our deep-seated desire to direct our own lives, to extend and expand our abilities, and to live a life of purpose.” Daniel Pink, Drive, 2011, p145

Dr. Csikszentmihalyi uses the term ‘flow stage’ - a stage where you forget about your surroundings and immerse yourself in the activity you are performing in the moment and ads that “students who get into flow as they study do better.” Dr. Csikszentmihalyi (as cited in Goleman, Emotional Intelligence, 1996, p93)

3. Tre tips om lĂŚring

#3 - VARIATION Peter Lund Madsen has studied the human brain's activity level during a normal day and found that the activity level "in the wake state is remarkably constant".

Activity levels appear to vary locally, but the average level is unchanged regardless of whether the subjects perform gymnastics, concentrated brain work, rest or are exposed to mental stress. Peter Lund Madsen, Dr. Zukaroffs testamente, 2012, s198
