I understand architecture as a diverse academic and practical field that comprises and touches upon multiple disciplines. I am fascinated by the immediate, practical, and physical connection and relevance it holds to people’s lives, their psychology as well as cultural identity and social belonging. In the words of Glenn Murcutt, “life is not about maximising everything, it’s about giving something back - like light, space, form, serenity, joy. You have to give something back.” Architecture presents an opportunity to give back something beautiful and meaningful and I hold not only a strong motivation to be a part of it but a self-defining dedication, passion, enthusiasm and love.
