Full Circle Commercial Studio

Employee Lounge Perspective

For commercial studio we were given this location and space to open a new fictional company or branch of a large corporation. MGM Resorts International was the client I chose for this project. Full Circle is located at 3020 Market Street in Philadelphia, PA. As a class we surveyed the space. Full Circle is a company who promotes healthy work environments for other companies. The concept of the space is holistic harmony and promotes the idea of an open office environment.

Kitchen Perspective A

This is a contemporary townhouse in Old City Philadelphia made for two brothers who are recently divorced and their three sons. Both brothers were looking for a contemporary space that had a clean design. The concept of the space was to make the center of the home the central space for circulation. The opening in the center of the home allows light to flow into the house through the skylight in the roof. The house is filled with public and private spaces. Each person living in the house is able to get a good amount of private space to themselves, while also having a large amount of space for gathering and spending time together as a family.

Nalu, which means wave in Hawaiian, is an urban surf shop located in Northern Liberties in Philadelphia. The retail space features old versus new with all types of surfboards from wood to fiberglass. The concept of the space invites the shoppers through dynamic wave-like structures. The space contains a sense of movement to reflect the way a wave moves and the feeling of surfing. The environment features wood, frosted glass, and different shadesA of blues to make the viewers feel like they are surrounded by a body of water. The inspiration comes from the movement of an ocean wave, the characteristics of water, and the meaning of surfing. Surfers get this feeling of Zen and often referred it to a type of meditation and time to just focus on one thing - the ocean. The space is intended to create a relaxing environment, but also creating a showcase for the different types of surfboards sold.

Gallery Perspective

The concept / parti of the design was to create mystery within the space. In Carnivale De Venice the masks worn create a mystery to the audience. To accomplish this I created a maze throughout the gallery, which creates confusion and mystery. The main hallway that takes you into the living spaces have windows that are viewing into the gallery. Although you can not see the whole gallery from the windows you can see some. The boxes on the ceiling goes into multiple rooms within the gallery and living space to create mystery.

Hotel Lobby Perspective

PARTI

This luxury boutique hotel that has a restaurant, bar, and lounge. There are six guest rooms including two ADA rooms. The Propylaea is a luxury boutique hotel that brings the Mediterranean to busy city of Philadelphia. A Propylaea is any monumental gateway based on the original Propylaea that serves as the entrance to the Acropolis in Athens. Guests of the hotel will feel welcomed when entering the sleek, modern environment with a bright, bold statement of architectural details and grandeur of the entrance. The concept of the hotel is based on symmetry balance and elegance. Also the hotel will portray high quality service and a relaxed feeling you get when visiting Europe. The environment will create old world meets new through ancient Rome and Greece architecture combined.

Link to Hope is a pediatric outpatient rehabilitation center for children with brain tumors and brain cancer located in Philadelphia at the Smith Playhouse and Playground in Fairmount. This outpatient will be a medium-sized facility that will be a comfortable, fun, and therapeutic place for children ages three to thirteen years old and their families.
