OrganaMag Empower Mama Issue 2
Premae Skincare Beeutiful Two Fingers Clean HEVEA Baby
Note from Editor A warm welcome to the second issue and box of OrganaMama! So glad to have you back. The goodies this month are again true to our natural, organic, ethical and sustainable ethos. This month’s theme encompasses what we think every woman should feel and do for her daughter, sister, mother, friend or indeed any other female she comes across - EMPOWER. The month of March is a special celebration of women with International Womens Day bringing awareness to the inequalities and rights of women around the world and Mothers Day on the 30th honouring and appreciating mothers in the UK. As women we should be proud of what we achieve on a daily basis - the small victories keep us going through the tough times (and sleep deprivation, ha!). So before the month is over I urge you to find another mother (or two!) and give her a big squeeze and let her know how much she’s loved and what she means to you.
Each month we’d like to feature a mama on our blog and in the mag. We want to hear from our subscriber mamas on your experience. So if you would like to answer a few questions please send an email titled ‘Mama Feature’ to hello@organamama.com
Reuse your box The box is the perfect size for a miniature dolls house. Simply paint the inside (adding any detail like furniture, windows etc) and some scrap fabric for wallpaper or curtains and gather the mini toys around for a tea party! Put the lid on when it’s tidy up time and your baby will have his/her own little dolls house.
I think this quote describes exactly how non-tangible our achievements can be on a daily basis - but remember how they mean much more in the bigger picture. “A person who has ‘tidied up’ has both the words and a tidy area to show for it. It is much harder to find a word that describes the giving-up-things mode of attention a mother is giving to her baby.” Naomi Stadlen, What Mothers Do: especially when it looks like nothing
Your OrganaMama box Your OrganaMama box is filled with hay, dried leaves and maize for its Eco friendly travels to you. The natural scents and colours lends itself to reusing as pot pouring with some essential oil top ups every now and again. It can also be used as compost. Proudly produced by Leavs limited on a Norfolk farm. As tempting as it may look this filler is not suitable for human consumption.

Hevea Baby
RRP
£9.99
If ever a product were borne out of the love of a mothers heart Hevea is one. A series of discoveries of natural rubber pacifiers and the high toxicity levels in celeb mums led Terese (Hevea’s founder) to creating her famous pacifiers and then rubber duck and teethers. The rubber is just the right texture for sore gums to make baby happy. Mama’s bound to be happy too because they are produced using real rubber and without the levels of chemical toxicity that other famous teethers have and come in recycled packaging! The Panda is obviously designed with a ‘everything in mouth’ baby in mind - it looks just like a cracker! And the Alfie duck would make a great yet simple toy for bath time swimming along on bubbles with baby. Its easy to see why parents and babies alike adore Hevea baby products and why they have won so many awards, they are designed beautifully yet made with just one ingredient. Don’’t forget to tell us what you think of yours! Natural, Ethical, Sustainable

Vital Voices In 2012 the world held its breath when a 15 year old girl was reported to have been shot in the head by the Taliban. No one expected good news. But tragedy turned into victory and this young girl became an inspiration for many old and young all around the world. Her message was simple. Everyone deserves to be educated. She has used the global platform that her story has garnered and set up a fund to achieve just that - education for all - but specifically for those who too often do not receive it by default - girls. Having a daughter myself I am reminded how messages throughout society can be demeaning to women and how equality continues to be a struggle both in developed and developing economies.
It is so important as the leaders of the future that we empower our children and equip them with the tools and principles that will sustain them into adulthood. So this month OrganaMama will be donating ÂŁ1 from every monthly subscription to this wonderful fund that aims at doing just that starting with 40 girls in Pakistan whose families no doubt will benefit more in the long term by their education than in the short term by their employment. If you would like to make a personal donation you can do so by going to http://malalafund.org/ Education empowers girls to raise their voices, to unlock their potential, and to demand change.
