We’re establishing our interview line-up for our blog and local news stations for the 2017 year. We will sign-up interested businesses for interview slots shortly. Please let us know if we should cover any story pertaining to your businesses effect on the community. The 2nd issue of NewBlackWallStreet.nyc Newsletter will include a growing directory of local black-owned businesses. We will be soliciting you to upload a graphic of your business card to be included in circulation.
N
ew Black Wall Street was founded in
the Summer of 2016 by Ashante Hamilton, Owner, www.getyourtea.biz, and Christina Vickers, Owner, www.SocialPatois.com. Besides sharing a thirst for entrepreneurship, these two women realized that they also shared a thirst for improving the social, political, economic, and environmental state of Black people in society. There was a need to form strategic partnerships within their local community that would directly address issues pertaining to the black community that are often ignored or misunderstood by mainstream society.
We are a cause and a network. There are many other causes such as #blacklivesmatter and other groups by the moniker "black wall street;" and yet we consider ourselves a part of the whole. We support the efforts of these groups and we consider the work we do in our community to be in support of other groups. Everyone has a responsibility to mobilize their local community and plug into issues that affect us on local, national, and global levels. We know that politicizing, policing, lawmaking, and banking have an impact on the lives of Black people.
Our School Supply Drive for Teachers is scheduled for the first week of August 2017. Please save your unused supplies for collection.
