Whether you’re an individual, a family, a corporation or a foundation, we draw on our extensive experience to help you support your favorite causes and organizations across Europe and Africa. In addition to our work with American donors, we also partner with European and African nonprofits and provide them with cost-effective solutions to raise funds in the United States.
OUR SERVICES
Services for Donors Advised Gifts
Donor-Advised Funds
The process is simple: You make a gift to KBFUS suggesting that we use your funds to support a specific overseas nonprofit. We review the suggested beneficiary and make sure that your gift will be used for legitimate charitable purposes. After formal approval by our Board of Directors, we take care of every aspect of the grant administration.
Corporate donor-advised funds can receive funding from various sources, such as a corporate foundation or giving program. And individuals can use their donor-advised fund as an estate-planning tool by naming their fund as the beneficiary of a bequest, charitable remainder trust or life insurance policy. They can also invite friends and relatives to make gifts, for instance on theoccasion of an anniversary or a wedding.
Signature Programs
KBFUS Consult
A KBFUS signature program provides donors with a tailored solution to support the most innovative projects or the most talented men and women in the country, region or field of their interest. Signature programs reward initiatives through a competitive selection process. Potential grantees are invited to submit a project proposal, and the most exciting applications are then selected by an independent selection committee.
Through KBFUS Consult, we provide philanthropic advisory services to both existing and prospective donors. You can call on us to identify leading non-profits or research funding opportunities in the country, region or field of your interest. And we can help you design an effective giving strategy that reflects your personal philosophy and philanthropic priorities while also meeting local community needs.
Services for Non-Profit American Friends Funds At KBFUS, we manage over 100 American friends funds for European and African nonprofits. An American friends fund provides them with a cost-effective solution to receive tax-deductible donations from alumni, friends and other donors in the United States. You can read the description of each fund or to donate, go online.

European Program
African Program
As European nonprofits look to complement their public funding through private donations, they could gain much by drawing inspiration from their colleagues in the United States. To foster this exchange of knowledge, KBFUS organizes an annual intensive, four-day study visit to New York City designed to introduce a select group of 25 executives from European cultural institutions and universities to the factors and strategies that have helped their American counterparts succeed in fundraising.
The four-day program is aimed at strategic decision-makers in African higher education institutions. It gives participants a unique opportunity to engage in interactive discussions with the “best of the best” of New York City’s fundraising community. They can explore creative solutions to broaden and diversify their sources of funding, and draw inspiration from the experience of foreign universities that actively reach out to U.S.-based alumni, diaspora, corporations, and private foundations.
Corporate Philanthropy (Europe)
KBF Cultural Heritage Fund
The objective of this program is to enable U.S. corporations to see first-hand how corporate community involvement in Europe can be accomplished or improved. Taking advantage of the location of our parent foundation’s headquarters in Brussels, participants exchange views with local nonprofits and corporations that have developed strong local giving programs.
For more than 20 years, the Cultural Heritage Fund of the King Baudouin Foundation has been helping preserve Belgium’s cultural heritage by acquiring important works of art and historical documents. The Cultural Heritage Fund concentrates on purchasing works with major historical value that local museums lack the resources to acquire. Today, its collection comprises more than 4,000 works illustrating the diversity of the country’s rich artistic tradition.
