TO MY DAD ON MY WEDDING DAY Today is finally the day That I will be the Bride, I look up at you to see A father gleaming with pride. But first there are a few things, That I would like to say, I love you more and more With every passing day.
23-08 2013 I remember as a little girl I felt comfort in your arms, And hoping that someday I’d find, A man with all of your charms. I’ve found that man in Lewis, Dad, That I do love so, But know this ‘Chief Old Geezer’ That my love for you will never go.
So when Adam walks me down the Aisle today, We won’t shed any tears, We’ll remember all the good times The love and laughter through the years. I may be the Bride today But in my eyes you’ll see, That some things never change ‘Daddy’s Little Girl’ I will always be.
I Miss you Dad, All My Love Helen xxx

23-08 2013 BRING ME SUNSHINE
read by Alison Clark and Sarah Baker
Bring me Sunshine, in your smile, Bring me Laughter, all the while, In this world where we live, there should be more happiness, So much joy you can give, to each brand new bright tomorrow, Make me happy, through the years, Never bring me, any tears, Let your arms be as warm as the sun from up above, Bring me fun, bring me sunshine, bring me love. Bring me Sunshine, in your eyes, Bring me rainbows, from the skies, Life's too short to be spent having anything but fun, We can be so content, just outside in the sun. Be light-hearted, all day long, Keep me singing happy songs, I'll make you smile when I sing along, Bring us fun, bring us sunshine, bring us love.

The Promise - by Eileen Rafter Read by Antony Burns
published with the authors permission
"The sun danced on the snow with a glittering smile, As two lovers sat quietly, alone for a while. Then he turned and said, with a casual air, (Though he blushed from his toes to the tips of his hair) “I think I’d quite like to get married to you.”
23-08 2013 “Well then,” she said, “well there’s a thought, But what if we can’t vow to be all that we ought? Can you promise me, say, you won’t grumble and shout If I’m late yet again when we plan to go out? For I know I can’t say that I’ll learn to ignore Dirty socks and damp towels strewn all over the floor. So if we can’t promise to be all that we should, I’m not sure what to do, though the idea’s quite good.”
But he gently smiled and tilted his head Till his lips met her ear, then softly he said, “I promise, to weave my dreams into your own. That wherever you breathe shall be my heart’s home. I promise, that whether with rags or with gold I am blessed, Your smile is the jewel I shall treasure the best. Do you think then, my love, we should marry, do you?” “Yes,” she said smiling “I do.”
Victor Hugo (1802-1885)
Les Miserables
You can give without loving, but you can never love without giving. The great acts of love are done by those who are habitually performing small acts of kindness. We pardon to the extent that we love. Love is knowing that even when you are alone, you will never be lonely again. And the great happiness of life is the conviction that we are loved. Loved for ourselves, and even loved in spite of ourselves.

Why Moët et Chandon? Champagne is the essence of Celebration. In November 2012 Helen and I took a trip to Epernay via Paris to celebrate our 1 year anniversary. By this time we were no longer neighbours, we were living together, very much in love and planning this wedding. We were off to explore the world of Champagne, and booked a tour of the Moët et Chandon house and cellars. We knew we loved Moët but didn’t know much about the history surrounding the most popular champagne in the world…..
23-08 2013
Claude Moët, bless him dearly, founded the Moët & Co label in 1743 in Epernay. In 1792 his son Jean-Remy, with the help of his good friend and neighbour, a monk named Dom Perignon, perfected double-fermentation for creating the sparkling wine we know now. On inventing Champagne, Don Perignon shouted “Come quickly I am tasting the Stars!” Soon after Jean-Remy was made mayor of Epernay and had opened the lucrative account of supplying Napoleon and his entourage with champagne…
Jean-Remy’s relationship with his neighbour reminded Helen and I of life in Lime Tree Court. Sharing, celebrating and drinking together with our neighbours, family and friends. Jean Remy was once described by Napoleon in words befitting both Helen’s and my father: “As soon as Monsieur Moët enters a room, boredom disappears”. In 1830, Adélaïde Moët, Jean Remy’s daughter, much like Helen, fell in love with her handsome neighbour Pierre-Gabriel Chandon. Within two years the pair were married. A story very close to our own. In 1833 Jean Remy retired leaving the Moët label in the hands of his son, Victor Moët and son-in-law Pierre-Gabriel Chandon. This brought the new world famous name of ‘Moët et Chandon’.
Et Viola…. A theme for two Champagne drinking neighbours who fell in love emerges. Lewis Dommett.
