Cleaning and Conditioning The best way to clean your wig is when it is not on your head—if possible!
• In general you can use any shampoo, but do try and use something as gentle as possible.
• Hold the wig upright, or pin it to a wig head and use a shower head to rinse the hair.
• Condition the wig every couple of weeks, generously apply a conditioner and leave for as long as possible - overnight is good!
• Avoid swishing the wig in the bathroom sink. • Wash the wig like your own hair, but be a bit more gentle and be sure to rinse out all the shampoo.
• If the hair is getting dry and you need to really deep condition, then after shampooing add some oil to the hair, olive oil is good, then leave to condition • You can go one step further if necessary and put the wig into a bag, pour boiling water over a towel, and carefully (with gloves), wrap the hot towel around the wig (which is in a bag) and leave to steam for as long as you can.

• If you want a permanent part and you want it to look wider, then use your fingers and quickly pull out the hair in the part
Achieving a Flawless Part! What is our most asked question? How can we make the parting look realistic. The answer is always the same - you have to work on it, the wigs do not always come perfectly parted out of the box! • So firstly part the hair where you want it, then blow the hairdryer on a low heat over the part, • Smooth the hair down with a comb or brush as you are blowing the hair. After a minute or two, you should see your part is laying flat now.
• Do this a couple of strands at a time, you can’t go back and change it if you do too much! • Once the part is wide enough then you need to make it match your skin colour so get a thin makeup brush and use a little makeup to colour in the part. It really is that simple! • Ensure your hair underneath is as flat as possible so your wig lays flat at the front and your part comes to your forehead • If the wig is still not laying flat enough, then you may need to tighten the wig either with the adjustable straps or see our section on “Making a Wig Glueless”

Making the Wig Glueless You will need some elastic, to make the elastic band—try and get a wide one, about an inch thick and some wig combs • The elastic band will go around the back of the wig and be sewn in two places, just above the ear on both sides • Measure how much you need, first hold the elastic by one ear—pass it behind your head near the nape of your neck to the other ear, being sure to stretch it a little as you do it • This will determine how tight you want the wig to be—the shorter the elastic, tighter the wig, the flatter and snugger the look! − A tighter wig will also make your parting lay flatter
• Turning your wig inside out, sew one end of the elastic into the lace above where the ear goes on the wig, and do the same for the other side. Now when you try on the wig you should see that it fits very nicely • You don’t have to sew it above the ear - you can sew it around the temple area using the same technique - just remember that he elastic must pass behind your head and be tight • Don’t forget to sew those combs into the wig, you don’t want the wig to be slipping back now! Best to place a comb on either side at the top and the nape if you have a spare! • If you find the combs snagging on your hair, then use the material to cover the ends of the comb

STYLISH LACE WIGS Attaching the Wig with Glue Which Products to Use This depends very much on what you want to achieve and what hair type and texture you use. • If you bought virgin hair, then you do not need many products , if you want a shine, you can use a finisher, the product is a light mist containing a little oil, it is very nice! • Water works a treat on curly hair! So does a wide tooth comb, try not to use a thin one. Detangle curly hair when wet and use a light oil to moisturise the curls, try different curl definers out and see what works for you, Redken, Mixed Chicks and John Frieda range work well. • In all cases try to avoid using products that contain alcohol as it will dry out your wig. • A wig with yaki will need more tender loving care, be sure to deep condition it regularly and apply the oils when wet. • Washing your hair is your friend - so many of you ladies are scared to wash the wig, just pick a nice shampoo and a good deep conditioner and wash at least once every 2 weeks
With the advances in glueless lace wigs, there are not many people gluing down their wigs unless they have to. • If you are going to use knot sealer on the wig, now is the time to spray it. • Before starting, pin the hair back so it does not get in the way when gluing down. • A good attachment starts with good preparation - clean your skin with alcohol to remember and Lay the wig on your head and mark key points where the hairline ends, so you know the wig will sit right, use lip liner, or brow pencil - something that. • can be wiped off at the end. • Follow the manufacturers instructions depending on the adhesive you want to use, the trick in all cases is to wait for the glue to dry tacky on your skin before you put the wig down • Once applied, use a rat tail comb (or the blunt side of a knife), to really press the lace firmly into the glue - let it dry before you play with it too much! • Do not give up on glue because it did not hold as well as you thought - just try another one, different people get different hold times from a wig, it really does depend on your skin type • Tired of glue? Then why not give tape a try, you will not get as long a hold, but it quick and easy

Your New Wig! Just received your wig? Thanks for making your purchase with us. This booklet provides you with a few hints and tips, please keep it handy. • Wigs will flatten in boxes, take it out and put it on to have a good look at it. • Some wigs especially the straight ones, may need you to style the hair so you can see the style properly. • You may need to fix the parting, see the “Achieving a flawless part” section. • We are here to help you, so if you have any questions or queries, the please do contact us.
Wearing a Glueless Wig There aren’t even any really instructions for them! Just pop them on and go. • Use the adjustable strap at the back to make it tighter, if it keeps slipping off the hooks then take a needle and thread and sew the straps in place! • The combs stop the wig slipping back, but they can be cut out if you don’t want them as they are added after the wig is made, look at them and you can see where you would cut the hand sewn stitching. • If you want more combs, we sell them online, so you can add them to the wig. • When a wig does not sit flat, it may be that the wig is not right enough - so pull the adjustable straps tighter - or go for the elastic band method - if all else fails, then use some wig take to hold it in place. • Wigs that are made with ear tabs are good to hold the wig in place, but if they are too long and sit on your ears rather than above it, you can take a pair of scissors and cut the bottom off the tabs where they run on your ears.
