Your role within the business As a Procurement Consultant at SwiftSwitch you will be expected to deliver high quality services to our business customers. Your main responsibility during the traineeship will be to learn and practice providing a high quality service to our customers and contributing to the business by: • Developing your communication skills and interpersonal skills to help businesses fid the best options available to them, by building relationships and profiling customers correctly. • You will answer questions and make recommendations, helping our business to save customers time and money, by matching the best utilities contracts to their business. • You will need to invest in yourself by building your knowledge base on us as business and the industry as a whole, enabling you to become a complete consultant, offering advice, guidance and support in meeting the business needs of our customers. • Showing a great personal organisation and attention to detail. • Learning to use systems and technology to meet customers’ needs and learn how to build a trust with your customer. • Be target driven and hungry to succeed, ready to build your skillset and career. • Learn how to demonstrate patience, work well under pressure and stay focused on your growth. • You will learn to operate and work within our business guidelines and procedures, being professional and respectful at all times. • Showing a willingness to learn and develop, working well individually and with your colleagues to enhance the working environment whilst hitting targets.
Career Pathways What is the Traineeship? At SwiftSwitch we believe in finding the right path for you, as everyone is different and one size doesn’t fit all. That is why we have multiple opportunities for us to assess and guide you towards: • Covering our core business as a Utilities Procurement Consultant, working in the Energy, Water and Telecoms Sectors building relationships and brokering contracts for a range of SME’s (Small to Medium size Enterprises) across the UK and US. • Working as a Merchant Procurement Consultant across the UK Merchant Services sector helping businesses with their Card Machines, Electronic Point of Sale Systems and Bank Contracts, brokering agreements with various Banks and ISO’s (Independent Sales Organisations). This is a growing part of our business and we have plenty of opportunity for you to grow as part of that too. • Working in the Tech Sector as a Resourcer supporting our Recruitment Team, helping to find candidates for our clients, and adding value to an already growing part of our business. • Working as part of our core Development Team, enrolling and on-boarding for our internal positions. Assisting with our Traineeship and Apprenticeship programmes across the company, helping to grow our multiregional business and build our brand for the future. • Working within the core Administration team, helping with integral day to day business functions, working with CRM and HR Systems, handling phone communications with various business stakeholders. Your traineeship consists of up to 14 weeks working alongside our training provider Central Training Group, with a minimum of 4 weeks of work experience, gaining a technical qualification and career building training within the business. You will be trained and assessed leading to a potential permanent role within the company. Each week will cover different levels of training, with group sessions, consultant shadowing, and independent work to get you ready to make an impact in the business.
Week One Will consist of fun introductions to areas of our business, Company Background and Company Ethos. Taking part in research, group work and presentations. We will also cover company expectations, set short and long term goals for your career and run sessions to help you build your mind-set and start with the right foundation.
Week Two Will consist of a deeper dive into our business processes, sector training and specific industry knowledge. We will cover understandings of the business world as a whole, diving into remuneration (how we are paid), scripts, pitching, role-play and structuring yourself as a business person. We will also cover in depth training across our CRM, telephone and business systems.
Week Three Will consist of making calls and finding prospective business opportunities using the skills you have developed over the first 2 weeks. Sessions on objection handling, deeper dive sales training, qualifying opportunities and pipeline management, how to be a consultant and how to qualify the business needs/requirements.
Week Four Will build on the success of the previous 3 weeks, focusing on maintaining consistency and hitting targeted goals. We will also help and assist with employability, CV Letter and cover writing to help kick start your career with us or in another opportunity. By the end of week 4, you will have a one on one interview with our Management Team by where we will assess all you have learned, looking at development, performance and KPI’s (Key Performance Indicators) to help us make a decision on your potential continued progression within the business.
