Division Street Corridor Source: Flickr.com

The Proposed Project Area of Division Street, between California and Kedzie appears to be one of the key underdeveloped areas within Humboldt Park’s Healthy Corridor. The community, predominantly Latino, fall into the lower-economic income levels compared to other other community areas (Logan Square & West Town). The economic status, coupled with health concerns for the community area has allows us to explore the built environment as a means to improve, enhance, and ultimately solve the issues of quality of life within the community.

The maps below show green space is present, but the lack of bike lanes, and economic development along the Division Street Corridor (between California and Kedzie) have isolated this area from more developed areas east on Division Street. !
