2022 CHRIST PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH

REMEMBER THIS— a farmer who plants only a few seeds will get a small crop.

BUT THE ONE WHO PLANTS GENEROUSLY WILL GET A GENEROUS CROP.

You must each decide in your heart how much to give. And don’t give reluctantly or in response to pressure. “For God loves a person who gives cheerfully.” And God will generously provide all you need. Then you will always have everything you need and plenty left over to share with others. -2 CORINTHIANS 9:6-8, NLT

WHY DO WE GIVE?

here are a lot of ways a person might respond, depending on their circumstances. But for those of us who follow Jesus, I believe that giving teaches our soul that God will provide. How beautiful is that? Because of who God is and what He’s done for us, we can trust in Him. Giving allows us to experience in a tangible way His great, abundant care for us.

As you look through these pages, you’ll get to witness how God is at work here at CPC. We’re celebrating how this community is making an impact within our walls, in our local community, and in the greater world. But we’re also casting a vision on where God is leading us. We want to be a community that proclaims the good news of the Gospel—impacting lives with the grace and love of Jesus .

We want you to be a part. Will you join us?

OUR FUTURE IMPACT Wedon’texistforourselves...butforthosewhoaren’thereyet. HERE’S HOW WE FEEL GOD LEADING: We’re not inherently good at evangelism. Alpha is a tool for people to walk toward faith . . . a safe, welcoming space for those asking questions. WE’RE SEEKING GREATER IMPACT THROUGH: CPC is committed to building Alpha for the long run as a proven outreach tool and invitation ideally suited for CPC. • 3 Alpha series this upcoming year • Alpha training for CPC staff leaders • Growing our Engagement team ALPHA 10 IMPACT REPORT 2022

A rich history of women’s ministries has always existed at CPC. We’re sensing renewed energy as God moves in our community to create new opportunities for women of all stages of life.

WE’RE SEEKING GREATER IMPACT THROUGH:

and evening options

Pathways for firsttime engagement and deepening discipleship

CPC desires to create on-ramps for women to engage in the life of the church, own their faith, and extend invitations.

WORSHIP

WE’RE SEEKING GREATER IMPACT THROUGH:

• Building a bigger worship team to create a communal worship experience for all

• Empowering young people to lead on and off stage

• CPC Music: writing own music to make a distinct, unique worship experience

Knowing that worship is the front porch for those new to CPC, we want it to authentically speak to the next generation.

We desire to attract new and younger worshipers through contemporary worship, while uniquely committing to continued excellence in traditional worship.

With a heart for those who don’t yet know Jesus, we want to grow our giving to empower missions around the world. MISSIONS We want a commitment to missions that is pervasive for the whole church–in how we equip, send, and give. WE’RE SEEKING GREATER IMPACT THROUGH: • Growing meaningful partnerships through support and trips • Growing our budget so that 10% of our giving goes out the door to missions • Offering more ways for people to be involved in missions outside of our walls Total Missions Giving Annual Budgeted Giving Christmas & Easter Offering Crisis Relief & Missions Fund Giving FY22 $1,159,529 $383,250 $277,903 $498,376 FY21 $716,858 $365,000 $99,846 $252,013 FY20 $815,675 $365,000 $295,101 $155,574 FY19 $769,683 $355,000 $191,000 $223,683 GIVING TO MISSIONS PARTNERS
WE WANT MORE PEOPLE FINDING HOPE AND PURPOSE IN JESUS. We don’t want to be timid. We want to go after this with our time, our skills, our resources. And you play a part! Together, we can trust a God who is able to do far more than we can imagine. Consider how you might start or increase your giving between January 1 and May 31, 2023: We’re looking for: people/households to give40 $3,000 more ($600 monthly/$150 weekly) people/households to give100 $1,500 more ($300 monthly/$75 weekly) people/households to give200 $500 more ($100 monthly/$25 weekly) people/households to give300 $100 more ($20 monthly/$5 weekly) Our total giving budget is $5,044,000; any giving that comes in above this total will go back out the door to our mission partners. 14 IMPACT REPORT 2022
WHAT’S YOUR NEXT STEP? FIRST, PRAY. Ask God to direct you. Listen for a nudging of the Spirit. NEXT, SHARE. Find a trusted person to talk to–a spouse, parent, sibling, friend. What fears are holding you back, and where is God growing your generosity? If you’re not sure what God wants for you in giving, a pastor would love the chance to talk and pray with you: peteyc@cpcedina.org LASTLY, GIVE. Set up a recurring gift at cpcedina.org/give or fill out a commitment card found in the pew racks or at a giving kiosk. If you want to explore other giving options, simply contact our Finance Team at giving@cpcedina.org or 952.920.8515 x241. Join us as we seek to be a community that proclaims the good news of the Gospel— impacting lives with the grace and love of Jesus. IMPACT REPORT 2022 15
