e-On Energy Saver As part of the User Experience design module at Loughborough University, this application was developed from a brief given by e-on energy. It aims to reduce the energy consumption of student households by tracking the usage of each member and ranking them in terms of the amount of energy they have used. At the end of each week the housemate who uses the most energy then has to complete a forfeit chosen by the whole house. In this way the app encourages the users to use less energy by providing healthy competition each week. An axure prototype was created from screens created in illustrator, and then tested with users to evaluate usability and eectiveness.

flex: Hand Rehabilitation device Flex is a wearable device that uses a combination of electromyographic (muscle) and positional sensors to aid patients and therapists during hand injury rehabilitation. During the research stage interviews with occupational therapists found that the two main issues both therapists and patients encountered were exercising and elevating the injury, and so, the muscle sensors are used to monitor exercise, whilst the positional sensors are used to monitor elevation. Two companion apps were created in order to mine the data gathered and use it in the best possible way. The patient app allows patients to see their daily and weekly progress, and also provides reminders and intructions regarding their prescribed exercises and elevation. The therapist app allows the therapist to see each of their patients’ progress in terms of the exercise and elevation they have been doing, and also change their routine for each as they see ďŹ t. Both of these were prototyped within Axure and tested with participants.

Electro-mechanical can crusher As part of the electronics and mechanics module at Loughborough University, a group project was completed which involved the design and manufacture of an electromechanical can crusher. The device was powered with a wheelchair motor, and programmed using a PICkit controller. The device was able to show a force ouput on an LCD screen and also count the amount of cans which had been crushed.

Soap & Glory Perfume Bottles During my placement year at Walgreens Boots Alliance part of my role as a Packagaing Technologist was to create initial visuals for up and coming products, that could then be used within stakeholder meetings. These visuals were created on photoshop and show three potential designs for a Soap & Glory perfume bottle.

Movember Beard balm Concept This concept was developed along side another placement student during my time at Boots. The concept aims to exploit a market No7 Men currently does not cater for, whilst also raising money for Macmillan by initially being sold during Movember, an event which is becoming increasingly popular each year. By using famous faces and beards from past and present, the proposed visual is fun yet sophisticated.
