Brief
Alchemy Produx Part of Commercial Design’s assessment at CATC. In this project, we are required to choose an online Australian local brand that still has not have a physical store yet. I choose the online company, ‘Alchemy Produx’, which specialize in soy candles. The ground level will be used as retail / cafe space with some area to showcase the products and cafe space with seating area for up to 20 people. The first level will act as the office for staffs.
Site Overview 47 George Street, The Rocks, 2000 The building is located at The Rocks, which is a tourist attractions’ area with historic walks home and pubs, a multitude of souvenirs and craft shops, vibrant markets, restaurants and cafes. The building itself was built between 1840 - 1841 as a warehouse by architect John Bibb. The building is included as Listing Number 01612, Gazette No 85 on the NSW State Heritage Register. Hence, we cannot alter the building’s material and construction as it’s not prohibited by law.
Concept and Design Development ‘Naturally Chic’ is inspired by Alchemy Produx’s science / fashion design fusion. Timber, glass and marble will be the main material with a touch of brass here and there. Timber and glass indicate science and natural nature of the brand while marble and brass reflects its fashion and trendy nature. the raw materiality will shine in this space instead of colour, so the colour palette will be kept minimal. The overall space will look sophisticated but still fresh.

Brief
Fast Eddie's Part of Design Process 3 assessment at CATC. The brief is to create a new shop for Fast Eddie, which is a barbershop. It will be located in the heart of Melbourne and requires entirely new fitout, as well the following: One Point of Sale, Three harcutting stations, One waiting area, One small storage area, Interior Signagne.
The Brand Fast Eddie is a barbershop located on the outskirt of a large Australian City. It is owned by the 33 years old, Ben Marks. Clients : • 19-45 years old men • Usually looking more than just an average haircut • Unique Style • Fashionable & Trendy Fast Eddie's is not just a place for a haircut, but also a place to catch up with mates and hang out to talk about music, art, tattoos, skateboarding and exploring new hair trends.
Site Overview The future Fast Eddie shop will be located in Melbourne CBD near Elizabeth St / La Trobe St intersection. The foot traffic near the area is heavy as it’s really close to Melbourne Central Station and Tram Stations. Although glass is used for entrance area, it directs to east which provides full morning sun. By the midday and afterwards, the natural light that go through will be not as much as in the mornings especially with the trees that shade the area.
Concept and Design Development Gents Wonderlust’ is inspired by adventure and nature, The main colour will show a domination of brown, blues, white and red brick to showcase masculinity. Main texture will be timber and brown leather with touch of rusty metals here and there. The idea of the space is create not only a place for a haircut, but also a home of community about music, art, tattoos, skateboarding and exploring new hair trends. That’s why a bar in the space is incorporated, and lot of seating area for people to chat while having a few light drinks.

Brief
Jamie's Kitchen The brief requires to deliver the kitchen in the new residence that Jamie Oliver, a British chef, and his family will call home in Australia. Jamie has been really inspired by Australian wide variety of fresh foods and has decided to create a new cooking show in Australia. The kitchen must reflect his exuberant
personality
and his passion for good food, while being suitable for filming his show as well. To highlight the Australian flavour on the show, Australian made or Australian owned materials must be used.
Research NATURAL DISTRESSED SPICES AND MATERIAL ARE NOT IN STORAGE UNIT FOR EASY ACCESS LOT OF BRICK FINISHES MOST OF HIS KITCHEN IS IN GALLEY STYLE
WARM LIGHTING HIGH OVEN BRICKS WITH MODERN PASTEL TOUCH TIMBER HIS KIDS OFTEN COME TO HELP
Concept and Design Development I am inspired by the word ‘chop’ that Jamie usually say in his shows. The idea of ‘Chop’ is to replicate its repetitive and geometric quality. As we chop something, the chopped pieces will have a geometric and lines, resulting in smooth texture of the raw ingredients. That’s why smooth plywood’s surface and rawness of concrete are mainly used in this concept.

Stumbled on this image. Really inspired by the play of the double exposure, with nature on the background. To incorporate this in an interior: Maybe playing with the idea of transparency and shapes, like glass and acrylic?
Concept and Design Development ‘Nature Exposure’ is inspired by the idea of Double Exposure, a photographic technique which combine 2 different pictures in 1 single picture. The idea ‘Nature Exposure’ is to create the same effect of double exposure into a space. With the combination of glass and acrylic’s transparency, neutral colour palette and natural materials, the space of ‘Nature Exposure’ is created.
