you will find your Chromecast being displayed in the list. Click on it to start casting the content from the computer to the big screen.

If you are getting this problem, then the very first thing to check is the Wi-Fi connection. Whether both the devices are connected to the same network or not. If yes, then follow the below-mentioned troubleshooting steps.

Switch on Network sharing: Open Cortana search box and enter Network status in it. Click on ‘Network status’ from the list of results displayed on the screen.

Go to ‘Network sharing center’. This is available at the bottom of the screen.

Go to ‘Advanced sharing settings’. Make sure that the Network discovery and the file sharing option is enabled on your device.

Click to save the changes.

Update the network card driver: For this, you need to over to ‘Device manager’ from the ‘My computer’ section.

Update your network drivers for adapters.

Restart your computer once the update process gets completed.

Reset Streaming permissions: This step may take some time. Enter window media player in the search box. Click on the particular box to open windows media player.

Go to ‘Stream’ and click on the option which says, ‘Allow access to home media’.

Now, you will find a small window opened on the screen, click to allow internet access to the home devices.

Once you click on it, a successful message for the same will be displayed on the screen. Click ‘OK’.

Go to ‘Stream’ option again and enable ‘Turn on media streaming’ option form the windows.
