METHOD 1 Chromecast Desktop App  Open the desktop app for Chromecast on your PC. You can find this app in Start menu or Applications folder. If you don’t have the app installed at your computer, then you can get it from cast.google.com/chromecast/setup/ or you can take assistance from Chromecast Com Setup. This method will work in only one case if you are being able to connect to your Chromecast otherwise firstly you must connect to it.
Then select your Chromecast in which you want to make changes if you have multiple Chromecasts. Then tap on Settings button. Now click on factory reset button. This step will reset your Chromecast to its factory settings. Then setup Chromecast dongle again to use it.
METHOD 2 Chromecast Mobile App  For Android device, you can download the Chromecast mobile app from Google Play Store. Factory reset is not possible with an IOS app. But if you have access to your IOS app then click to reset manually.  Now click on menu button at the upper left corner.
 Click on Settings. The settings for Chromecast will open.  Now click on factory reset Chromecast option and after this Chromecast will reset the factory settings. Now run the setup process for using it again.
METHOD 3 Chromecast Reset Button  Find your Chromecast on your TV and leave it plugged in otherwise you will not be able to reset it in unplugged condition.
 Now press and hold the button of reset. You can find this button next to the micro USB button on the dongle of Chromecast.
 You must hold the reset button for at least 25 seconds. When you will do this, the light on Chromecast will start blinking and message resetting to factory defaults will appear.  After resetting the factory settings, you will need to run setup process for using it again.
