The design philosophy of the practice is founded on architecture as a social art and the commitment to create places that are supportive, engaging, aspirational and detailed to maintain a consistently high level of the art and craft of construction. The form of a given project evolves in direct response to program, extensive interaction with clients, specific site conditions and budget. The designs also obtain their unique character informed by history, culture and human behavior.

qualities of each client’s program, site, and aspirations. He eschews working in any particular style. Before he begins any project, Duffy studies and analyzes the functionality of the best of that building type. This benchmarking methodology yields to a conceptual process that involves transcending and superseding the current state-of-the-art.

<The Old Parkland Campus> was at one time the municipal hospital for the city of Dallas. Located just north of downtown, the hospital moved to a new facility and the existing campus sat empty for many years. The campus was eventually acquired by a private holding company, who has added several new buildings and an addition to the back of the original hospital building. The latest additions to the campus are the buildings located in the West Campus which are in keeping with the other classically designed buildings on the campus. In detailing, proportion, and materials, these buildings respect classical design with a commensurate level of handwork and craftsmanship.
