UNITED WAY FIGHTS FOR THE HEALTH, EDUCATION AND FINANCIAL STABILITY OF EVERY PERSON IN CENTRAL FLORIDA.
Problems. The ones most people don’t have the stomach for. The ones nobody talks about at cocktail parties. The ones that can’t be solved. We go looking for them. We find every dollar we can to address them. But we are more than the fundraisers. We are the hand raisers. The game changers. No matter the obstacles. No matter the odds. We surround Central Florida’s most critical problems. And we fight. We fight for those who need a voice and those whose names we do not know. We fight for the health, education and financial stability of every person in our community. Because change doesn’t happen alone. Hope isn’t a one-man band. We have one life. To live better, we must Live United.
I FIGHT FOR
What do you fight for?
United, we fight to make lives better in Central Florida. We are a force of donors, advocates and volunteers. It takes our entire community to battle the big issues like homelessness, illiteracy, poverty and violence. It’s a combination of partner agencies, corporate partners and passionate individuals like you who are on the front lines of creating change to make lives better. Heart of Florida United Way fights for the health, education and financial stability of every person in Central Florida. Last year, we helped over 464,000 people living in Orange, Osceola and Seminole counties. This year, we want to help more. But we can’t do it alone.
UNITED WE FIGHT. UNITED WE WIN.

As a native Puerto Rican, I wanted to help Hurricane Maria evacuees because I knew what it was like to relocate to a new community. That’s why I volunteered with United Way at the airport Welcome Center to help evacuees get the help they needed to get back on their feet.

I believe senior citizens are the foundation for our families and communities. They have selflessly contributed so much but they are often forgotten. Knowing there are hungry and lonely seniors breaks my heart which is why I donate to United Way to ensure they are remembered, honored and cared for.

When I was little, my dad was injured on the job. United Way gave him the help and hope he needed to get through a tough time. Now I use my story to inspire others to support United Way because I experienced first-hand the difference they are making in people’s lives.
