Facade Dominant Project

A series of pools, distinct, with individual characteristics, but interconnected through the flow of water. One can choose their preferred pool, and have the ability to flow between them.

To address the prompts of the bathhouse program as well as the ideas of gender/sex fluidity alongside the ruinous and the picturesque, we try to break the idea of an "ideal". The form providing a wide variety of pools and spaces, and materiality introducing "imperfect" features like weathering and moss, along with "welcome" features like trees and plants in between gaps. We don't impose an ideal mindset; we just enable the possibility of many mindsets. We thus allow people to flow between these mindsets via the connectivity of the pools.

Material and Programming Dominant Project

This project aimed to breathe new life into a public housing project nestled within the bustling heart of Brooklyn. Drawing inspiration from the rich history of the area, we sought to blur the boundaries between neighborhoods and usher in a new era of community and creativity.

We envisioned a space that seamlessly integrates with the natural environment, where the soft rustle of leaves and the gentle caress of the wind are harmoniously intertwined with the bustle of everyday life. The chosen materials were carefully selected to evoke a sense of oneness with the surrounding park and trees, with a color palette that mirrors the shifting hues of the seasons.

Cluster Generative Process

Our design team sought to transform the existing building into an open and inviting space that beckons residents to step outside and bask in the beauty of their surroundings. Balconies and open spaces were added to provide ample opportunity for contemplation and reflection, while workshops were scattered throughout the building, serving as a beacon of creativity and community spirit.

As the lines between art and architecture blur, we invite residents to embrace their inner artisan and unleash their creative potential. By showcasing their crafts and wares in the bustling market spaces, they are invited to express themselves and connect with their community on a deeper, more meaningful level.
