Floating PV Plant Overview
The operation of a floating PV system is quite similar to a ground mount system, with its own set of installation characteristics. Indeed, the installation of a floating platform involves finding a suitable water area. Initial site assessment includes a preliminary study to evaluate the environmental impact and anchoring feasibility, a specific electrical design, and grid access. Artificial water bodies are countless worldwide, and existing electrical infrastructures are often located nearby, thus enabling a smooth and fast development process. From manufacturing to commissioning, we are present at each step. Our floats are produced through a blow-molding process. A floating PV plant requires the integration of an anchoring system to keep the platform in position and ensure its resistance to the environmental constraints (wind, waves, current).
