Floating PV Plant Overview

The operation of a floating PV system is quite similar to a ground mount system, with its own set of installation characteristics. Indeed, the installation of a floating platform involves finding a suitable water area. Initial site assessment includes a preliminary study to evaluate the environmental impact and anchoring feasibility, a specific electrical design, and grid access. Artificial water bodies are countless worldwide, and existing electrical infrastructures are often located nearby, thus enabling a smooth and fast development process. See below an example of a suitable floating PV site.

HYDRELIO® CLASSIC The standard version: • Standard tilt of 12°, directly integrated into the main float by the blow-molding process. • Adapted to very complex pond shapes. • Easy operation and maintenance. • Modified fixing systems available allowing for 15° and 22° tilt options. • Compatible with comfort, eco and dual-orientation configurations*.

A floating PV plant requires the integration of an anchoring system to keep the platform in position and ensure its resistance to the environmental constraints (wind, waves, current).
