After leaving high school I could not see the time to go home. There I could sew my jobs and, I do not know if my grandmother got upset or showed my taste for using it, she ended up giving it to me and I took it to my house where I took flight. I remember that I made a bedspread and a variety of curtains for the house. "
From apprentice to independent salesperson. When Karla was 12 years old her mother enrolled in a painting class on canvas. So at home, with her mother's paintings, she began to copy what she did and thus learned to such a degree that the moment came when it was her mother who asked her: "How do I do this, how do I do the other thing?". Meanwhile Karla was just trying to do the best thing that came out of her imagination. That same year she started making bath towel sets, because she had everything she needed and she liked to do it. So she started to make different types and it occurred to her to sell them. She put a table with her towels in the atrium of the church and she liked it a lot because it made her very happy to see when people came saying, "How beautiful!", and they started buying. In high school she saw that the position of the square was no longer enough. So she said: "I'm going to set up a place." Then her father conditioned the garage of the house and there she put all the products she made, painted and embroidered.

When her husband and Karla planned their family she left for a moment to create crafts at the much as she used to. When I was pregnant with her first son Sebastian, I made some cross stitch embroidery and a train in beautiful cloth. I also paint a white wooden horse as if it were a carousel with infinity of details.
Then her daughter Valeria arrived and when she was born she felt like knitting again with 2 needles. When she traveled to California she bought many threads and some friends of her mother taught her how to weave. So

So I decided to create a hundred percent handmade bag made entirely by hand, with a design, embroidery and original decoration. And this led her to decide: "Yes, this is what I want to do: that people begin to enjoy this authenticity, the color of these designs. And the most important thing: to take the hearts of all the people involved in doing it, from cutting a palm branch to knitting a bag, to measuring, cutting, sewing, spinning, embroidering ... That's the only thing and what makes it so special: to give our hearts to your hands through this art in embroidery. "
when she was born Valeria wove sweaters, diapers, hoods of all colors, baby dolls, short pants and berets for babies. And it happened that people kept asking me: "Where did you buy it? Surprise when she told them that she had made it. FALL COLLECTION 2018 14

Mexico: Where textile traditions are preserved. When we contemplate the work that Mexican textile artisans do, our sight is immediately attracted, seduced by its vivid colors and infinity of original designs. Our hands immediately want to touch their textures, feel their complex patterns and allow us to feel in us the magic of those hands that created them. Its mysticism and beauty come from traditions that have passed down through generations by hundreds, even thousands of years. Witnesses of culture, history, myths and legends, each of its threads and fabrics tells a story that, unfortunately, many ignore. Their patient and selfless work needs a voice that reminds modernity of the wonderful values of our ancestors so that this tradition survives the artificial style of modernity.
The art of hand embroidery From the first steps to its elaboration, hand-woven palm bags require a careful selection process that involves cutting and choosing the leaves that will be braided. This process has been transmitted from generation to generation and is learned from a very young age.

This goes beyond a fair battle, since by lowering the quality of the materials and using machinery for its manufacture this affects the existence of hundreds of communities throughout Mexico that seek to survive with their handicrafts. This condemns not only the same tradition to impersonation but also to artisans to poverty and oblivion.
FALL COLLECTION 2018 21
That is why the project "Cielito Lindo" starts precisely from the hands of a young Mexican mother, lover of handicrafts and crafts, as a way to raise awareness among consumers about these little-known facts. Humanitarian aspects that include the working conditions of those who are exploited by the industry, the use of animal products and synthetic materials that in many cases become toxic and end up contaminating the environment once they are discarded.
Achieving that the big brands respect the intellectual right of the communities and their designs is as necessary as it is complicated, due to the controversy between what is an industrial design and an artistic design. The difference for "Cielito Lindo" is one: the craftsmanship implies human work as an expression of its history and beliefs. No one should take advantage of the technological advance and the economic power to use at their convenience the stock of ethnic groups, affecting them in their subsistence. No brand or designer should plagiarize an artistic creation to sell it as a simple ephemeral consumer product.
This is why the concept of "Cielito Lindo" seeks from the beginning to make the consumer aware of the

products manufactured by women and children who work under conditions of extreme labor exploitation, where the profits are for the owners of the brands and, on the other hand, the dignified work that many indigenous families carry out in their communities and that represents not only the survival of many families but the rescue of very diverse ancestral traditions so that they continue to exist.

Culture and traditions. A thousand-year legacy Currently in Mexico, the National Institute of Anthropology and History has proposed to create a registry platform for Cultural Heritage and Market to highlight the cases in which a brand or commercial designer has plagiarized the original designs of the artisan peoples. With this initiative it is sought that the laws protect the ancestral heritage and the rights of these peoples, so that a collective mark is recognized and a denomination of origin is obtained as well as for other products of artisanal origin. In this way, the designs would be protected and their origin would have to be recognized, the use rights paid or, in any case, are subject to copyright protection laws. The "Cielito Lindo" project represents a hundred percent original concept, whose intention not only involves marketing the craft work of Mexican ethnic groups and making it available to consumers in the United States. Its main intention is to propose an original concept, with 100% natural materials, elaborated by expert hands that will put in each detail not only their time and dedication, but the love and hope of artisans who deserve to subsist decently through their work.

On the other hand, we have the work of embroidery, which is not at all simple either. Most of the designs have approximately 10,000 stitches and it is necessary to take care of each point that the needle gives so as not to distract the figure. Each and every one of the designs of "Cielito Lindo" are original and many times it is hard to make it to people who already know how to embroider, because a different technique is used and the main objective is that all the bags have the same design characteristics and that the same parameters, both quality and artistic, are followed.

Three types of talented people There are people who after much study and preparation achieve the pinnacle of their career and are the best in it, there are also those who have a natural talent and without any studies achieve their goals at the highest level, however there is a third group where study and talent come together, if in fact being a person ready to perform your job guarantees a certain degree of success, just as born talent translates into success, can you imagine people who combine both?
35
. That's right, studying together with talent makes you the best of the best. Karla Sánchez is from this third group of people, as you will know from reading her biography, she started at 6 years of age to show her talent for handicrafts, this is complemented by a professional career in fashion design, obviously to reach It has come a long way that has allowed her to make real works of art in the process. Just to give you an example, when she was waiting for her first child, Sebastián, due to the expectation that first fruit of your belly causes, she decided to paint a carousel-style wooden horse, and only when you can see closely the detail of this work, you understand the level of talent and knowing what it means to do something like that, and the most impressive thing is that all the design, colors, shapes and so on, are a source of imagination, without a definite plan it was possible to create a true work of art in painting by hand, this piece contains hundreds of details that impress.

Embroidering with the heart. 42
Embroidering with the heart. To be able to make a work of art, it requires more than the raw material, that is, not only the fabric, the thread, the needle, the frame, as well as the scissors are indispensable elements for embroidery, but anyone can have the same materials and not get the same results. What is it that some people manage to create true works of art and others do not, even though they have the same materials? It may surprise you to hear that the key is to embroider with the heart and not with the hands. What does it mean to embroider with the heart? One way to convey this idea would be to use daily life issues. It is true that, although we all need to work to support our family, not everyone works where they like. The vast majority have a job that satisfies their basic needs, but it is not what they are passionate about, so we see people who render a service unwillingly, and even with a terrible customer service. How different is that individual who enjoys what he does, it is true, he is paid to perform at his maximum performance in his daily tasks, but as this individual works with the heart, that is, if necessary, he would do the job in a way free because of the pleasure that comes from such work, it is not a burden or an obligation, rather work has become a delight
To give an example, a young craftswoman who collaborates with Cielito Lindo named Rebeca says it this way: "I have been embroidering for 2 years, it started as a hobby that helped me cope with stress from my economic problems, but now I receive a payment for that reason, incredible that they pay me to live without stress ". That is to embroider with the heart, there are many craftsmen who feel the same way, and that kind of people are the ones behind this project, the feelings are manifested in the works of art that are carried out and in the pleasure that is derived from such beautiful work. The reward is great, people from different parts of the world have access to unique pieces in their class, because they are unique, since more than the hands that embroidered it, it was the heart wrapped in each step of these jewels of Mexican craftsmanship the real source of such great talent. Cielito Lindo is delighted to hear about people who wear them with great pride from San Francisco, Los Angeles, Santa Barbara, San Diego, Miami, Spain and of course Mexico, just to mention some of the destinations of this product made in Mexico, a 100% handmade bag embroidered with the heart.

Our team in Mexico
48
The value of a team It is well known that success does not depend on a single person, rather on teamwork. And to achieve the goals of Cielito Lindo and its founder Karla Sรกnchez, this is an undeniable reality. The work involved in making a bag of Cielito Lindo is a process that definitely without a team would not be possible to carry out, we are not only talking about a particular aspect of these 100% handmade bags, but of all that this implies.
The design team Thanks to the talent of our designer Karla Sรกnchez, we have not only beautiful but original designs, the delight of being able to see the final result before starting is a source of satisfaction for this great artist, being able to put abstract concepts in the physical world, just can do those who have not only talent, but knowledge, as well as good taste to achieve true works of art, combining objects, threads, colors and more. Thanks to Karla Sรกnchez for sharing her good taste with all of us.
The team that makes the bag possible The palm leaf is the base of our bags, likewise the craftsmen who are in charge of tanning and curing the leaves before starting to weave them, the preparations are long and sophisticated, since it involves boiling, draining and airing to dry, which It can take up to two weeks. Since it dries it is kept in sacks and when starting to weave, the edge is removed, previously moistening it a bit to soften it, this takes 20 minutes to 2 hours. When the palm is at its optimum point and its leaves are dried, its elaboration is started by placing a mold as a base, interlacing the leaves to achieve a onepiece bag. When the bag is finished, it ends with the double and the inserts. The artisans who make the bags are worthy of mention because without their work we would not have our product in the first place. We recognize each of the industrious team members. Thank you for all your hard work.
FALL COLLECTION 2018 49
The team that makes the embroidery This part is the most delicate of the process, which is not easy, the designs have approximately 10 thousand stitches, after several attempts each craftsman who now elaborates them without difficulty, faced challenges to understand each one of the 5 different techniques of embroidery that are used. Even the most experienced craftsmen had setbacks to be able to become experts in reproducing our original designs, and what is sought is that each finished piece maintains the same characteristics, it is interesting that despite being the same design you can see the difference between a craftsman and another, since each one has individual characteristics, this instead of being counterproductive is beneficial, because it shows the importance of embroidery and who carried it out. One aspect that takes great care is the quality of embroidery, as well as the materials used throughout the process of embroidery, since the manufacture of these works of art is not underestimated in any way. It is worth to thank the personnel in charge of the organization and logistics of this part of the process, without them, there would be no product either. Thank you very much for such tremendous help to each of the artisans, as well as to the managers of this department.
The team that makes the hangings The elaboration of motes, pompoms, as well as the other components of the different designs does an outstanding job. The elaboration of each part is vital, and its later assembly also, that great pleasure to have such people who give all their effort and experience for its realization. To give an example, the red coral motes of the "Paradise" design required for a bag are approximately 70, and the elaboration of each of them takes 3 minutes, which implies 3 and a half hours, just making the specks hand. Es por eso que se tiene en gran estima a estos diestros artesanos. Gracias por las horas involucradas en su elaboraciĂłn compaĂąeros.

The team that makes the assembly
The graphic design team
When the embroidery is finished, now the part of the assembly continues, this part of the equipment is vital and its capacity, as well as its knowledge in haute couture allows them to elaborate the following parts that the bag carries for its final finishing. The label on the lining cannot be missing, because it is what represents us at the end of accounts. This work is carried out in the city of Guadalajara state of Jalisco Mexico. Thank you to everyone involved in this delicate process.
The photo and video equipment Having true professionals in the field of photography and video is essential to capture the human aspects of our product. Because we are very visual, it is very helpful to be able to communicate to our potential customers everything that is involved in each bag of Cielito Lindo. Thanks to each of the photographers and videographers for all their contributions.
Once you have photographic material, you go to the design department, there you get to convey the marketing message, this is vital to achieve capture in the minds of customers the beauty that is behind each of our products. Thanks for such an excellent job to the designers who strive to achieve the goal. The team in the United States and Mexico Once the base product is finished, the bags are sent to our customers in Mexico and the US for marketing in the rest of the world. Here we thank the people in charge of the shipments to each of our valuable customers. Thank you very much team in Mexico and the United Estates. The most important part of this project is difficult to define, because during this process of 30 days for the preparation of a single bag is long, complicated but very rewarding. And it is precisely what attracts people and encourages them to ask about the origin of our original bags. With this brief tour we want to thank each member of Cielito Lindo, no one is more important than another, our founder gives us the example of humility by recognizing each of the collaborators.
