Geographical Notes

NOTES ESTIMATED DATA Due to the absence of official data, the following data have been estimated: Israel

January 2010 to August 2012

COUNTRY NOTES Australia

The national administration has identified that the production of LNG for the export market has not been reported. Consequently, the Australian indigenous production has been historically under-reported by the volumes of LNG being exported. Starting from January 2011 data, these volumes are included in the figures. Historical revisions are pending. Prior to July 2006, all natural gas exports are estimated by the IEA on the basis of OECD imports of natural gas from Australia. Post July 2006, total exports of natural gas are estimated by the administration, based on annual (July to June) and quarterly data. The breakdown of export destinations is estimated by the IEA on the basis of OECD imports of natural gas from Australia. No imports took place in June 2012. Subject to confirmation, this is due to a disruption of the gas facility in Darwin, Northern Territory and the pipeline from the East-Timor Sea.

Austria

Starting with January 2012 data, Austria reported physical flows of natural gas trade. Consequently there is a break in trade series between December 2011 and January 2012. As of January 2001, trade breakdown is no longer available due to confidentiality. Starting with January 2012 Austria reports transit origins and destinations.

Belgium

For the period January 2010 to December 2010, the gross inland deliveries and the imports from "Not elsewhere specified" location are estimated by IEA secretariat. Revisions are pending.

INTERNATIONAL ENERGY AGENCY

From January 2011, natural gas trade data are estimated on the basis of gas flows measured at entry and exit border points. For the same period the consumption data are estimated by IEA secretariat. Revisions are pending. Czech Republic

Due to changes in reporting methodology there is a break in series in natural gas stocks for the Czech Republic beginning with January 2010 data. From January 2010 onwards, natural gas stocks represent the stocks held on the national territory of the Czech Republic. Prior January 2010, natural gas stock data included also stocks held in the Slovak Republic that were fully available for use by the Czech Republic. Historical revisions are pending. Beginning with January 2012 data, natural gas trade figures include a portion of gas in transit. Revisions are pending.

France

Beginning with January 2005 data, exports of natural gas include a portion of gas in transit.

Germany

Beginning with January 2010 data, natural gas trade figures have been revised due to the change of the data source. German imports and exports of natural gas include transit flows.

Iceland

There is no natural gas data for Iceland, as there is neither production nor consumption.

Israel

Information based on data published by the Ministry of Energy and Water Resources as well as the Central Bureau of Statistics. The stocks level information is not available at this time. Revisions are pending.

Italy

Cushion gas is excluded from stock levels starting with October 2009; hence there is a break in stocks between September and October 2009. Historical revisions are pending.

Netherlands

Between January 2005 and July 2009, natural gas trade information is published by country of physical location prior to or after crossing Dutch borders. Revisions are pending. Beginning with August 2009 data, natural gas trade data are reported on the basis of ultimate origin and destination.

Poland

Polish-German natural gas trade figures are reported on a contractual basis.
