It is our pleasure to bring you the 2024 edition of the Little Miami River Chamber Alliance’s business Directory and Resource Guide. This annual guide provides a resource to area businesses and events in our area. Additionally, we hope that visitors learn what an amazing area we have to offer. You can learn about our schools, parks, new development, the best places to eat, shop, and play as well as the latest happenings. We continue to enjoy our partnership with Cincinnati Magazine and look forward to providing you a firstclass publication as an incredible resource.

The Little Miami River Chamber Alliance serves businesses and the community in three areas: The City of Loveland, Symmes Township, and Miami Township. We enjoy working with those surrounding communities as they grow and prosper as well. It is our goal to invite residents to Start, Stay, and Play in our communities. With all these areas thriving and continuing to grow, we offer something for everyone to enjoy and experience! A strong focus for 2024 is for the chamber to offer both financial and publicity support to area nonprofits.

Some exciting additions to look for are improved parks—landscaping, play equipment, and hardscaping. The city will be enhancing streetscaping along the main corridor to the Loveland area, improving bridges along the bike trail. On West Loveland Avenue, the bridge will get some much needed repair work.

As the leading advocate for businesses in the area, the Little Miami River Chamber Alliance leads the way for incoming businesses and current businesses as they navigate government and growth. The chamber provides trainings, community events, and business events to provide comprehensive leadership for all businesses. Along with our directory, our website is a main resource for businesses and tourists: www. lmrchamberalliance.org. Our favorite way of communicating is still in person to connect and understand business members, which is our signature trademark as a chamber!

New homes, new businesses, and revamped parks and infrastructure keep our area safe and thriving.

LOVELAND

Residential Development

Loveland’s resident count increased in 2023 due to the addition of a new subdivision and 25 condominiums just outside of the downtown Loveland area. While building of single-family homes slows, the city’s property valuations continue to rise. The city continued to assist homeowners in the Heights neighborhood with matched funds for specific home improvement projects.

Commercial

The city completed a long overdue project of renovating and building a new public works building off Loveland-Madeira Road. The building is solar-powered and includes storage and office space.

The next large project for the city will be to complete the revitalization of Loveland-Madeira Road with lighting, walkability, and streetscaping. The city owns a key piece of land off the road referred to as the Chestnut Street Development. Grants for most of the project have been secured and the Assistant City Manager will work to complete the

remainder of the funding. This development likely will include commercial space.

Historic Downtown Loveland is the anchor to the city and will see many projects over the next year. A new turn lane from State Route 48 onto West Loveland Avenue has helped to ease the tension of traffic coming from Warren County. A surface parking lot with 147 spots has been constructed and will invite more guests to the downtown area. The widening of Harrison Avenue near Nisbet Park will connect the new parking lot to State Route 48. The Loveland Bike Trail Bridge received structural and cosmetic upgrades.

Infrastructure

The sidewalks along the West Loveland Avenue bridge are being repaired by Hamilton County. Likewise, several area neighborhoods will see sidewalks allowing for safer walkability to schools and business districts. Nisbet Park will see additional upgrades with more pathways. Future plans for Nisbet include river access, a sculpture, and updated amphitheater. Thanks to grants awarded

to the city, many of the parks have new playground equipment and upgraded landscaping.

SYMMES TOWNSHIP

Residential Development

Symmes offers three excellent school systems (Indian Hill, Sycamore and Loveland) and zero earnings tax to residents. The suburban setting with businesses conveniently located nearby makes it ideal for families. Residents enjoy community events throughout the year in more than 197 acres of sprawling park space. Outstanding police and fire services, excellent schools, and a thriving business community make the area attractive for all.

Infrastructure

The township’s updated interactive website allows residents to report issues directly to the township and be notified of any event, meeting, or public hearing (go to www.symmestownship.org and click on Stay Informed). Plans are being reviewed to replace the outdated township administrative building. The new building will better meet the township’s needs and offer more space. The township plans to continue with new landscaping and signage along entry points throughout the township. Maintenance will continue in the parks. The township is making plans to replace the playground equipment near the Shady Shelter at Symmes Park in late 2024/2025. Engineering work is being undertaken for new sidewalks on Hopewell Road, Snider Road, Seven Gables, Kenwood Road, and Montgomery Road. Construction should begin shortly for sidewalks on Fields Ertel Road and continued sections of Union Cemetery Road.

Bicentennial Events

The township will see many events this year to celebrate its bicentennial, starting with a kid fishing derby in April at Symmes Park followed by a park ded-

ication at Seven Gables and Symmes Honors Veterans in May. The township will then host many other activities throughout the summer: a Heritage Festival in Camp Dennison, a Bicentennial Blast at Home of the Brave Park, a Harvest Festival at Meade Park, and an ice cream social and movie night at Hopewell Meadows Park. In the Fall, we plan to have the Fall Festival at Symmes Park, a 5k Race at Home of the Brave Park, and will finish the year with Operation Santa. Please join the township to celebrate our birthday all year long!

Business

Over 15 new businesses now call Symmes Township their home. Exciting new restaurants, donut shops, doctors’ offices, and meat stores are among many new businesses that are opening here. Welcome back Worldpay/FIS who will once again call Symmes Township home in the Governors Hill Office Park.

MIAMI TOWNSHIP

Residential Development

Miami Township is the 13th most populated township in Ohio and is home to 30,000+ jobs. New homes in the $350,000–$800,000 range are currently under construction in six subdivisions. Fieldchase Senior Apartments is a new, 120-unit development that is being completed off Wards Corner Road and there are new townhomes being built off Tri-Ridge Boulevard and Hilltop Way. Hills Developments has selected Miami Township for one of its newest developments. It will begin construction shortly on a new six-building, 335-unit apartment complex off Cinema Drive near I-275 and State Route 28, close to new restaurants and entertainment venues in that area.

Infrastructure

Improvements to roads, sidewalks, and stabilization are happening this year. A new public roadway off State Route

28, Lorven Drive, will connect a brandnew Aldi store with The Christ Hospital Outpatient Center and Al-Gor Acres subdivision. It will also provide plenty of opportunities for future development in that area.

The Milford Exempted Village School District is currently remodeling its stadium and constructing a brand-new fieldhouse and middle school on Eagles Way.

Business

Five of the largest privately-owned businesses in the region are headquartered in Miami Township. A new small business accelerator development is planned in the southern part of the Township along U.S. 50 near Wolfpen-Pleasant Hill Road. The existing Kroger store in Mulberry Square is currently being remodeled and expanded into a new Kroger Marketplace and Crumbl Cookies is opening a new location in the Mulberry Square Plaza.

Snuggled in the Southwest corner of the Buckeye State at the intersection of three counties, the Little Miami River area is a place where small-town values and big-city amenities intersect in the most wonderfully wholesome and scenic setting.

Of the three communities that form this region, Loveland is, quite literally, the sweetheart. Romantics seek out the Loveland post office each February to send out Valentines with the “Loveland” postmark. The eponymous bike trail provides recreation opportunities at whatever speed you’re in tune with from slow rolls to speedy treks.

Along with neighboring Miami and Symmes Townships, this region offers residents and visitors alike a high quality of life with a side of good, old-fashioned Midwest sensibility. From top-rated schools and beloved local businesses to beautiful neighborhoods and epic outdoor recreation, there’s so much to love within these three postcard-perfect communities.

Loveland

Loveland, best known for its name, is a northeast suburb of Cincinnati, tucked into the corners of three counties. (Fun fact: you can send a Valentine featuring Loveland’s iconic postmark. Simply send a pre-posted card inside a mailer addressed to The Valentine Lady at the Little Miami River Chamber Alliance.) Sweet name aside, Loveland is a delightful mix of small-town charm and new development. It’s a growing community, with strong schools, a thriving business environment, and extraordinary outdoor recreation. The Little Miami State and National Scenic River runs right through town, as does the Little Miami Scenic Bike Trail. Loveland offers something for everyone—and truly lives up to its name.

Miami Township

Miami Township boasts both new development and historic beauty and is a wonderful place to work and play. For evidence of this, simply drive through Downtown Milford— you’ll find business booming inside century-old shops and storefronts. The area continues to attract new businesses, making it a great choice to work—and live. In terms of play, Miami Township ranks at the top. In addition to lots of local spots to shop and dine, Miami Township has a park system second to none. The area is outlined by the Little Miami River, which provides endless opportunities for outdoor recreation.

Symmes Township

Symmes Township is a true hidden gem. You’ll find established neighborhoods boasting big trees and sprawling backyards just a stone’s throw away from next-level shopping, dining, and amenities. For families, Symmes Township is pure gold, boasting three of Ohio’s top-rated public school districts as well as a real-life castle!

In terms of entertainment and recreation, this area has it all…and then some.

This area is best-known for the Little Miami Scenic Bike Trail, which runs 75 miles from Springfield to Newtown. Of course, the renovation-related closures along the bike trail have been big news. Opened in May 2024, the new pedestrian bridge on the Little Miami Scenic Trail over O’Bannon Creek is a serious upgrade. Designed be more environmentally friendly, with no support structure in the river below, the new span seamlessly blends into its surroundings and makes

a trip down the Loveland Bike Trail even more picturesque.

If you opt to park and explore Loveland on two feet, there’s a new downtown parking lot being completed this summer that will serve as your convenient starting point. The more you wander, the more you’ll find yourself taken by this impossibly charming town.

Both Downtown Loveland and Downtown Milford are designated “Buckeye Trail Towns,” and feature lots of local options for dining or shopping. Small Business Saturday, which takes place annually the Saturday after Thanksgiving, is a big

to-do; in addition to shopping small and bolstering the local economy, attractions such as horse-drawn carriage rides, carolers, and even visits from Santa transform a day of simple holiday shopping into an eagerly anticipated holiday tradition.

Patrons of the arts will appreciate Loveland Stage Company, a local troupe that has been entertaining audiences with popular musicals and shows since 1980. History buffs, meanwhile, can learn about all things Loveland at the Loveland Museum Center, which features a stately Victorian house complete with 19th century furniture, decor, and artifacts.

Of course, no place is more magical than Château Laroche. This authentic, full-scale castle was built brick by brick by Cincinnati native Harry Andrews. He began construction in 1929 and spent the next 50 years working on his masterpiece, using stones from the Little Miami River and hand-molded bricks made of cement shaped in quart milk cartons. The castle includes gardens, several towers, an actual dungeon, and rooms full of medieval replicas and memorabilia. It’s _the must-visit attraction in the area. In fact, if you want to take your castle visit to the next level, check out the “Castle Adventure” tour via Loveland Paddle Sports, which cruises right by the acclaimed castle.

Team sports enthusiasts will love Grand Sands Volleyball, a 14-court, yearround indoor/outdoor beach volleyball facility. Brush up on your serve during open court hours or join one of the club’s seasonal competitive leagues.

Visitors will have plenty of areas to relax in the city’s many pocket parks conveniently located around town. The Matt Haverkamp Dog Park is an entirely fenced park featuring benches for seating, an exclusive section for small dogs, a water source, and an agility course.

You’ll find classes and activities for

adults of all ages at the Lifelong Learning Center at the Miami Township Civic Center, from arts and crafts to wellness programs and computer classes.

Meanwhile, the Oasis Golf Club & Conference Center is a favorite destination for weddings and meetings. The members-only golf club features a par 72, 18-hole course designed by Arnold Palmer. The O’Bannon Creek Golf Club, set amid the natural beauty of woods, streams, lakes, and rolling hills, is also a popular course for local golfers.

For residents of the area, the State of the Region Update kicks off the New Year with city and township updates. And during the year, a number of annual events have become family traditions. The Valentine Program adds a heartwarming note to snow-filled February, celebrating Loveland’s claim to fame as the “Sweetheart Capital of the U.S.” with the crowning of the Valentine Lady. Summer traditions include the Food Truck Rally and Loveland Independence Day Celebration; in 2024, Symmes Township is celebrating its Bicentennial with events aimed to commemorate 200 years of shared heritage and history. The centerpiece of the celebration is the Bicentennial Blast (July 20), a day of food trucks, festivities, fellowship—and fireworks! Be sure to attend the premiere Health and Wellness event in Nisbet Park in late July. Road to Health will showcase all things healthy, including exercise, nutrition, and mental health. Fall fans adore area festivals such as Fall For Symmes and Loveland’s Oktoberfest Christmas in Loveland sets the tone for the holidays when area businesses say “Thank you” to the residents for patronizing them throughout the year. The city turns into their very own Hallmark Town! And the celebration even features a visit from The Man in Red himself.

Ohio Valley Voices works with children up to age 8 who have hearing loss to listen and talk through the use of hearing aids or cochlear implants. OVV believes that becoming confident talkers and developing interpersonal skills are the keys to realizing each person’s potential.

Primrose Schools

Primrose Schools is a national system of accredited early education and

Springs East Montessori School

Springs East Montessori serves students from preschool through grade 3. Public Schools

Loveland City School District

The Loveland City School District is a progressive, vibrant educational institution committed to exemplifying a dedicated approach to the complete student experience: excellent academics, exceptional arts, and premier athletics. The district covers more than 15 miles, overlaps three counties—Hamilton, Clermont, and Warren—and surrounds the City of Loveland and reaches into Symmes, Goshen, Hamilton, and Miami townships. Current enrollment is approximately 4,300.

Sycamore Community Schools

Sycamore Community Schools serves over 5,500 students in the communities of Blue Ash, Montgomery, and Sycamore Township. Consistently rated as one of the top-performing school districts in the state, Sycamore High School graduated 18 National Merit Scholars in 2022. A dedicated faculty, challenging curriculum, and high expectations for all students combine to create a top-notch public-school experience.

Symmes Bicentennial

A portrait of small-town values and Midwestern sensibility, Symmes Township was founded in 1824 and turns the big 2-0-0 in 2024. The community is celebrating this milestone all year long under the theme Celebrate Symmes: Yesterday, Today, and Tomorrow, says Symmes Township Administrator Kim Lapensee. “Throughout 2024 we will Celebrate Symmes with various community events designed to bring together residents, businesses, and visitors to commemorate two centuries of shared heritage,” she says. In 2024, the region is marking a year of giving and growth. After being in a steady “building and sustaining phase for 10 years,” it’s time to give back, says CeeCee Collins, President of the Little Miami River Chamber Alliance. “We are grateful that we are now able to give back to the community that has supported us and helped us grow. We plan to get involved in fundraisers with our area nonprofits including sponsorships, attending events, golf outings and more.” Collins adds that the spirit of giving is not merely financial: “we have planned to work with the city and townships to give back where they see a need. Not just financially but with volunteerism, marketing large events held in their areas, and more.”

The first order of business? A new playground for families! “We have already made a donation to Symmes Township towards their new playground,” says Collins, “and have discussed a donation to the City of Loveland for their parks master plan to come.”
