A Biological Approach to Fitness Physical Fitness means different things to everyone. We see people who don’t work out at all, to the committed gym member and the hardcore long distance runner and cyclist. If you ask any of them why they workout you will most likely be given the standard answer of “staying fit”. The truth is for most, these types of workouts have little to do with keeping healthy or fit for the realistic demands of everyday life. Few of us truly need the ability to run 26.4 miles under five hours or bench press 400 pounds. Often our fitness routines expose us to potential injury that then requires rehabbing. For instance, if you are isolating specific muscle groups in a weightlifting routine, you can weaken them because they need to be used in a functional fashion in conjunction with other muscle groups. If your weight training that way you are one of three people: you are a bodybuilder, you are going through physical therapy, or you have no idea what you’re doing. This type of workout is Outcome Based Training (OBT); simply emphasizes how many, how much and how fast. Performance Based Training (PBT) focuses on how WELL you do at a given task. Develop a workout routine that focuses on efficiency at maximum output. As we age we tend to lose, flexibility, balance and strength. PBT workouts focus on developing, maintaining and enhancing our flexibility, balance and functional core strength to meet our everyday demands. See Ad on page 38.

We Are What We Drink We have all heard the expression, you are what you eat. What about what you drink? From artificial sweeteners to sugary drinks, no wonder so many of us are symptomatic. I have seen people order a healthy meal only to spoil it with a diet coke. You ask: Soda or diet soda (or any diet drink)? None. First, the carbonation in soda removes vital bone minerals. Our bones are a back-up source of minerals used by our body. If we drink carbonated beverages, we deplete this source. Second, let me make

20

this very clear: There are no artificial sweeteners that are safe or non-toxic to our bodies - artificial being the operative word - such as aspartame (nutrasweet), saccharin (sweet n low), and sucralose (Splenda). This is quite frightening. There have been many people misdiagnosed with serious diseases such as multiple sclerosis, lupus and fibromyalgia, to name a few, because these diseases have very similar symptoms to the poisoning caused by artificial sweetener use. Remove these sweeteners and the headaches, joint pains, cramping, and dizziness go away; even hearing and vision have been restored. And please do not be fooled thinking that Splenda is okay because it is made from sugar. According to Dr. James Bowen, a physician, biochemist and survivor of aspartame poisoning, Splenda is a neuro-toxin that also causes swelling to our liver and calcifies our kidneys. Our bodies cannot excrete these chemicals, so they accumulate creating toxicity and illnesses. Remember, each of us express different symptoms to the same toxins, making it difficult for findings like this to come to the surface causing misdiagnoses. One reason people turn to chemically treated drinks is to avoid sugar due to fear of gaining weight. Many of our soda products are sweetened, not with pure sugar cane, but with high fructose corn syrup that is derived from a genetically modified organism. Even pure sugar cane is not an option, because it speeds up the aging process of the entire body and also suppresses the immune system for a number of hours after consumption. What should we be drinking? Water. That is all we need. Want a little flavor, add a slice of citrus. Want something warm and comforting, try a natural herbal tea. If added sweetness is desired, reach for a packet of stevia created naturally by mother earth. Withloveathena.org. See Ad on page 46

School of Body Therapies: What Constitutes a Good Massage? I had a new client on my massage table recently who informed me she only had come to see me because of a gift certificate her daughter had given her for her birthday. She went on to say she only had one other massage in her life and it was a terrible experience, for several reasons. I apologized for her unfortunate massage and promised this would be her time on the table and that I would adjust both technique and pressure to accommodate her needs. I did ask her if she had said anything to the therapist about what had occurred during the massage and she replied that she had not.

It always amazes me that folks do not speak up for themselves but will silently give in to an unpleasant massage as if they are not entitled to the best the therapist has to give. I liken it to eating bad food at a restaurant. If the food was inedible would you eat the meal anyway, pay for it and not say anything? I don’t think so! And neither should you endure an uncomfortable massage. You are paying good money for a service and you should expect a therapeutic, comfortable, pleasant massage. So what is a good massage? Your therapist should ask you to fill out an intake form such as you would at a physician’s office and at the same time you should have questions prepared to ask as well. Questions for you to ask could be: Are you licensed? What types of massage are you certified to give? How many massages a day/ week do you do? How long is the actual time I have on the table? You should be comfortable temperature –wise, the music should be to your liking and at all times you should feel safe on the table. This includes being draped and covered in a secure, ethical manor. Look around the room, is it clean? If receiving a hot stone massage, ask how often the rocks are cleaned. Stones and heater should be completely cleaned with each client. Other than an occasional inquiry about your comfort level of pressure, your therapist should not be talking during the massage. This is your time to relax and restore your body. In every class taught at my school we emphasize the importance of taking care of the client in all stages of the massage. And we stress the importance of education of pathologies and medical conditions when massaging, again for the safety for everyone. Don’t be afraid to speak up for yourself. And by the way, the lady did rebook for another great massage! By Kathy Perniciaro, LMT, TTT™ Owner of the School of Body Therapies. See Ad on page 22.

Tips to Moving Forward Overcoming the Procrastination Rut Almost everyone puts off doing unpleasant tasks, but continual procrastination can lead to missed deadlines, strained relationships, guilt feelings, financial penalties, missed opportunities and inferior quality of work due to last minute completion. Avoiding tasks produces short-term relief but actually ends up creating more stress in the long run.

Creating Community Magazine NOV-DEC Issue.pmd 21

Here are some tips: - Begin now, even if you don’t feel inspired. - Break tasks into smaller, manageable parts. - Set realistic goals. - Identify the hardest part of the task and do it first. - Remove distractions from your environment. Citizen Power Answers Questions on Obamacare The non-profit consumer advocacy organization Citizen Power has released a major study on health insurance regulation here in Pennsylvania and how the Affordable Care Act (ACA), known as Obamacare, will impact individuals and families. The health insurance exchanges created by the ACA have gotten off to a confusing start, but Citizen P o w e r Executive Director Titus North says his organization is here to help. “We learned so much about the nuts and bolts of the exchanges that we are in a position to assist people with difficult to answer questions about Obamacare or who want information about how the new law will impact them.” Citizen Power can be reached at 412-421-7029 or info@citizenpower.com. In addition, Citizen Power has a webpage full of useful information about the Affordable Care Act at www.citizenpower.com/PPACA. In 2011, Citizen Power received a grant from The Pittsburgh Foundation to conduct their study, which was motivated by the rapidly rising premiums faced by Pennsylvanians for health insurance over the past decades. The study concluded that due to the particular nature of health insurance, market competition actually leads to waste and inefficiency. Although Obamacare does address some of the equity concerns inherent in the current healthcare funding system, ultimately it doesn’t solve the underlying cost issues.

Procrastinators often feel like life is a series of obligations that can’t be met, are unrealistic about time, get easily distracted, keep an impossibly long to do list and have vague goals. Procrastination happens for many reasons including perfectionism, fear of failure, anxiety and

low self-esteem; however, you don’t need to remain paralyzed by lack of motivation.

Pennsylvania would be best served by a national single-payer health insurance system. Such an approach has resulted in better healthcare at a lower cost throughout the rest of the developed world. However, until a single-payer option becomes reality,

Citizen Power has several recommendations for Pennsylvania, including that the Pennsylvania Insurance Department open up the rate review process to greater public input. Citizen Power is best known to Creating Community readers as the people behind “LowCostWind.com,” which allows PECO customers to sign up for a 100% Pennsylvania wind electricity plan, in some cases for about the same price they currently pay PECO. The plan is also available in other parts of Pennsylvania and New Jersey. “We do a lot more than help people obtain renewable energy at a low price,” says Titus North. “We have an education program that has trained over 1000 middle and high school teachers from around Pennsylvania free of charge in renewable energy and energy conservation and efficiency technologies. In addition, we have a staff attorney who represents consumer and environmental interests in proceedings before the Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission and elsewhere.” See Ad on page 37.

As the night came to a close we found ourselves standing at the door and figured we may as well hug each other good night to be polite. The moment we hugged there was an explosion of energy and creation of a magnetic field beyond our comprehension. Time stood still and the heavens opened showering us both with blessings we never knew existed. We could not pull apart and felt as our bodies disappeared and we were standing in the vastness of all existence. Our minds struggled to understand what was happening and finally surrendered into laughter.

Awakening to Oneness

We have been together 24hrs per day every day for 27 years and dedicated ourselves to the sacred union that occurred in that “original hug”. The energy field that was created by our union took over our lives and led us down the road less traveled. Through grace we surrendered.

It was a California style birthday party on a full moon evening in San Diego, CA, September, 1986. We first met at the hot tub but the thermostat had broken and would not shut off the hot water. The temperature rose to 110 degrees, too hot to get in. We were not interested in each other’s appearance, personality or in conversing so went our merry way.

I was working as a Behavioral Optometrist in La Jolla, CA. Asherah was working in a salon in San Diego. We were compelled beyond all protestations of our minds, our friends and family to both quit our jobs and sell all our earthly belongings including our cars and move into a

camper van. We left the world we knew behind and rode off into the unknown, living in nature for approximately two years. Wrapped in the hands of Mother Nature and held in each other’s arms we dove deeply into the myriad of wounds of our lives and experienced profound healings. From the ocean to the dessert to the mountains and redwood forests, we were constantly surrounded by raw beauty and nurturing energies. As we healed and transformed, we continued to dedicate ourselves to the energy field created by our union and found this field began to attract others who were seeking their own healing. We watch in amazement as people transform and awaken to the totality of who they are beyond the mind and body and experience themselves as Bliss, Freedom and Love. To be continued... Supplements Could Save Billions In Healthcare Dollars According to a new report commissioned by the Council for Responsible Nutrition Foundation, dietary supplement regimens may reduce the number of disease-related medical events, representing the potential for billions of dollars in savings. In the U.S., 75% of health care dollars go to the treatment of chronic disease, with only 3% spent on prevention, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Researchers in this new report conducted a review of hundreds of scientific studies

on eight supplement regimens pertaining to four diseases, to determine their effectiveness. Cost benefit analyses were then applied to determine the cost savings when taking supplements at preventive intake levels. Here is an excerpt from the report: “Chronic disease takes a huge toll on people’s quality of life, and the health care system spends a tremendous amount of money treating chronic disease, but has failed to focus on ways to reduce those costs through prevention. We already knew that dietary supplements can play a role in reducing the risk of certain chronic diseases. We felt compelled to find out if they could contribute to savings in health care costs by reducing the number of medical events associated with those conditions.”

The eight different dietary regimens highlighted in the report are as follows: CALCIUM plus VITAMIN D—In women with osteoporosis, the potential net savings in related hospital costs are over $1 billion annually.

www.BethSnyderdmd.com MAGNESIUM—The potential net savings, after accounting for magnesium supplementation as part of a treatment plan for osteoporosis, are $595.3 million annually. LUTEIN & ZEAXANTHIN—When taken for age-related eye diseases, including macular degeneration and cataracts, these supplements can reduce the risk of these diseases by 23%, offering potential savings of $930 billion annually. OMEGA-3’s—As part of a regimen for heart health, supplementation with these fatty acids reduces the risk by almost 7% resulting in a savings of over $930 billion annually. B-VITAMINS—The science suggests that B vitamins may offer a 3.3% risk reduction in coronary heart disease, which would translate into $560 million of net savings. PSYLLIUM DIETARY FIBER—Psyllium supplements would offer an 11.5% risk reduction for coronary heart disease, providing about $2.3 billion in savings. PHYTOSTEROLS—These plant sterols can help reduce the risk of coronary heart disease by 11.2% resulting in a savings of over $3 billion annually. CHROMIUM PICOLINATE—This ingredient can reduce diabetesrelated costs by over $970 million annually. Contact GNC in Newtown at 215-579-2100. See Ad on page 23.

Neurofeedback: Power of the Brain to Change the Brain Neurofeedback is a form of biofeedback and works on the same principles as peripheral biofeedback. That is, it rewards the body for desirable and healthy responses. Biofeedback and neurofeedback have a decade’s long history of being a safe, effective, noninvasive and successful intervention for many difficulties that interfere with normal functioning. Neurofeedback is increasing its applications as an effective alternative for resolving many problems. It is a very effective alternative for many conditions including autism, Asperger’s, anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, migraines, and more. By using a system of rewards, neurofeedback trains the body to learn new responses. Once rewarded, the body repeats the desirable response. In this way, real learning takes place and positive changes can begin to occur. These changes can be permanent. Sometimes all the body needs is good instruction on how best to respond to stimuli or information

from the environment. Neurofeedback provides that instruction. What once started out in the sixties as a technique for controlling seizure waves in jet pilots exposed to jet fumes has become an effective alternative for many problems. Neurofeedback is already widely accepted as a successful treatment for Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder. Since brain waves are the basis for brain activity, and we know the functions of the various areas of the brain cortex or surface, we can train brain waves which alter behaviors. Generally, this greatly improves the outcome. Neurofeedback uses the power of the brain to change the brain. However, not all brains are alike, nor do they all respond in the same way. Therefore, tools like brain mapping provide information on how the brain is functioning, thus giving an idea of what is going on in all the areas of the brain surface or cortex. Sometimes the difficulty is a problem with an imbalance in the type of brain waves being produced, and sometimes parts of the brain are not communicating with each other. The brain map provides a road to begin to ask the brain to change by the system of rewards. Neurofeedback is a growing science in the world. Originating in the United States in the sixties, it has spread to Canada, Europe, Russia, Japan, South Africa, and Australia. Results are encouraging and the future of neurofeedback is promising. The International Society of Neurofeedback Research (ISNR.org) is a central hub for coordinating the research activity. Monoatomic Andara Crystals A powerful healing tool A unique mineral deposit was discovered near one of earth’s highenergy vortex sites in the High Sierra Mountains of northern California. Monatomic Elements of Gold, Silver, Iridium, Rhodium, Chromium, Platinum, and other monatomic minerals were found in this deposit. Discovered within the deposit were glass-like crystals of exceptional power and beauty.

tigar.abmp.com

The Andara crystals surfaced following an earthquake in the mid 19602 s, on land owned by an Irish Choctaw medicine woman named Nellie Thompson. They remained relatively un-noticed until a psychic healer named Ally visited Nellie at her home. The healer became excited when she noticed a unique glass-like crystal and told Nellie that she had received visions about that crystal. Even though that was the only Andara Nellie had found in ten years, she was encouraged to search her land for more. Nellie was told that the crystals would be found near places containing a white powdery substance. In her visions, Ally saw white dust created from ‘unicorns rubbing their horns together in play.” Nellie remembered seeing the white powder, and upon returning to her land, found a variety of crystals in several colors, shapes and sizes. Since then, another earthquake covered the main supply which is now limited.

Since Andara crystals were first discovered, many people working with them have experienced major shifts in their lives. Richard B., a medical intuitive, in Vancouver, WA, writes, “...the individual using the Andara crystal is able to raise their own vibration to match, receive, and mediate the higher frequencies. Meditating with Andaras, using gem elixirs made from them, carrying them, and working with them in other ways will help us to attune to them and increase our ability to use them as tools for healing and the science of exploring our consciousness...” Andara crystal is one of the master crystals, a healer and a powerful tool for: (1) increasing awareness and vibration to access universal knowledge; (2) cleaning and balancing chakras; (3) activates one’s energy-channeling ability; (4) accelerates the spiritual development process, and (5) aids a person to manifest the life s/ he chooses. Along with extraordinary beauty, the Andara Crystal is reported to offer energetic benefits, healing qualities, and protective attributes. It is also said to enhance communication between nature and the owner of the crystal. Rev. Chiropractic Maintenance Care: Rationale Explained A well-referenced paper presented at the 10th Annual Vertebral Subluxation Research Conference in Hayward, California explains why your Chiropractor suggests that you continue with Chiropractic maintenance care, sometimes called wellness care, after your initial spinal problems seem to have been corrected. The paper defines maintenance care as dealing with patients without a chief complaint but have their spines checked for Vertebral Subluxations and adjusted to maintain proper function and optimal health. Researcher Dr. Lisa K. Bloom, an Associate Professor at New York Chiropractic College says there are two concepts that offer a good rationale for Chiropractic Maintenance Care. The first is the concept of Immobilization Degeneration (ID). One of the primary components of the vertebral subluxation complex is decreased movement of the spinal joint. Bloom points out that

27

40 years of research tells us that when a joint loses normal movement, ID begins to occur at a measurable rate within one week, with evidence of soft tissue changes consistent with scar tissue development. The second concept we need to understand, Bloom says, is how a subluxation can exist in a patient without any symptoms occurring. When a subluxation occurs, the misalignment of the joint oftentimes does not produce enough pain, for a long enough period of time to get through to the areas of the brain responsible for pain detection. Two good reasons for lifetime chiropractic maintenance or wellness care are presented here. One, degeneration from a subluxation begins to appear within one week. How long do you want to wait to get it corrected? Two, many times patients do not feel pain immediately when a subluxation occurs -much like you don’t feel immediate pain from a cavity in a tooth. Pain may not show up until the degeneration causes a large amount of damage. Again, how long do you want to wait?

We all have fungus and bacteria growing in our sinuses at all times. We breathe them in the air and the sinus mucosa traps them so that they don’t make it into our lungs. When the numbers of invasive pathogens gets too high for our immune system to keep in check, we call it an infection. The symptoms can range from head-aches to tooth-aches, fever, dizziness and severe congestion. The next stop in Neti Pot use is to deliver an antimicrobial agent to kill fungus and bacteria instead of trying to merely flush them away. By using an enhanced aqueous silver colloidal solution, such as Nature’s Rite Super Neti Juice, you can kill them both by the millions. You simply load the solution into your Neti Pot and pour it in one nostril until it comes out the other. Then, trap it there by placing one finger over each nostril. Since the solution does its killing over the course of 10 minutes, it is best to leave it in for 5 minutes or so before releasing it. So… sit down and read a book or a magazine. Then return to the sink and let the residual liquid drain out. Doing this morning and evening when you are suffering from an infection is phenomenally effective at reducing the number of bacteria and fungus in your sinus.

Chiropractors are deeply concerned about making sure your body is able to function to the best of its ability and be as healthy as possible for as long as possible. That’s why we recommend regular spinal check-ups for everyone for a lifetime. Why a lifetime? How long do you want to be healthy?

Remember though, any salt will ruin a good silver colloid; even tapwater will ruin it. So either use a dedicated Neti Pot for the colloid or rinse yours thoroughly with de-ionized or distilled water. If you don’t have an infection, then doing this every week will simply help your body to keep the fauna and flora in check and relieve a great burden on your immune system. Stress-Free Holiday Shopping

A New Direction for Neti Pots The present paradigm of Neti Pot use is to flush the sinuses and carry-away pathogens with a saline balanced solution. Unfortunately, the bacteria and fungus stick rather well to the nasal mucosa and very few are flushed out. Most of these nasty pathogens adhere to the mucosa in what is called a “slime-layer” or “Biofilm”. Within this slime layer, they are well protected and thrive within the warm moist sinuses. In fact, bacteria and fungus can double (divide and create new organisms) every 20 minutes. The slime layer protects the bacteria very well from antibiotics and the fungus, are not affected by antibiotics. All of this “powerflushing” does very little indeed to resolve and over-growth of pathogens and so you can develop a sinus infection.

What is Myofascial Release? Myofascial Release (MFR) is a form of manual therapy practiced by massage, physical, & occupational therapists. Myo refers to “muscle” and Fascia refers to the connective tissue system of the body. Fascia is a hydrated, 3-dimensional, living-web of connective tissue that surrounds you from head to toe; it starts just beneath the skin and weaves its way down to the cellular level, to the very core of your being. Fascia permeates the other tissues of the body: bones, muscles, nerves, blood & lymph vessels, organs, etc. The fascia is very strong, yet remains fluid & flexible to move with your body, resisting gravity, and supporting you in all that you do. Restrictions occur when the fascia solidifies in an area due to a number of factors, including: poor postures, repetitive motions, direct trauma, chronic inflammation, surgeries, etc. Restrictions anchor the tissue in the area, entrapping all structures that pass through it at that point. Since the fascia is continuous throughout the body, a restriction in one area can pull

into other areas as well. This can greatly distort your body’s posture and function causing pain, fatigue, inflammation, joint degradation, and dehydration of the tissue. Myofascial Release is a patient, potent, intuitive discipline that works with your body instead of forcing change to occur. Restrictions are released by applying gentle, static pressure over the area for about 2-5+ minutes. This constant pressure over time causes the solidified fascia to “melt” and become more fluid again, allowing the body to move more freely. It takes a minimum of 90 seconds for the fascia to start to elongate, creating space, relieving pressure, and freeing entrapped structures. No creams or oils are used during a session .There are no protocols in Myofascial Release, as each individual is a unique pattern of fascial restrictions, accumulated over time. You are treated, not just your diagnosis, to ensure the best possible results. Clients are also educated to take charge of their own care by altering daily postures and treating themselves at home. MFR is useful in treating, but is not limited to: • Everyday stress & tension • Arthritis, tendonitis, bursitis • Neck, back, hip, shoulder pains • Headaches, migraines, TMJ, sinus problems • Poor posture & postural imbalances • Injuries & surgeries • Scarring • Fibromyalgia, lupus, Lyme disease, chronic fatigue. the true value of being a community market is in making contributions to lives of our neighbors and the larger local economy. And local products make the best gifts! Our commitment to local producers reaches beyond our shelves, too. We define local as being within 150 miles of one of our stores but for a busy farmer, that distance might be too far to travel on a day when fields need to be worked or cows let out to pasture. Our central distribution center in Downingtown lets us help some of the smaller vendors increase their reach and minimize their distribution costs. Speaking of distribution, while we support local producers who use more regional distribution companies to get their products to our shelves, we *don’t* identify as “local” those companies that are simply branch offices of national conglomerates – if the animal wasn’t raised locally, it doesn’t matter to us that the packager operates locally. Kimberton Whole Foods started as a humble farm store in Chester County, selling organic yogurt made on-site at a biodynamic dairy farm. During the ensuing 27 years the Brett family has grown that store into a privately-owned chain of groceries that actively reflect a commitment to local farming and the prioritization of organic and fair food. We have local products on most of the shelves in our store and work with over 100 farmers and artisanal food makers, representing 10% of all of our products. Our goal is to make our

Creating Community Magazine NOV-DEC Issue.pmd 31

current contribution to our community’s economy even larger as we expand to additional stores; as of the end of 2013 almost 20% of our sales are of local goods and hope to have a full 1/3 of our sales come from local products by the end of 2014. See Ad on page 2.

Why Should I Attend the Academy of Massage Therapy & Bodyworks!? Greetings! My name is Angela Pio Wagner, director of the Academy of Massage Therapy and Bodyworks in Pottstown, PA. I was asked to write a little something about why I think students SHOULD choose our school but instead, I am going to let you read why some of my current students DID choose our school! So here are a few: Cristina DelRio writes: I pride myself in having chosen this school even though it is a little farther from me than others, because of the family oriented welcome with continued support and professional standards. The results are evident as instructors who are experts in various modalities also chose the academy for

themselves for continued education. None more telling evidence needed than the close to 600 return and regular clientele who frequent the schools clinic staffed by us, the students! Melanie Lanese shares: I chose AMTB over several other schools because they offered a free hands-on open house and the information I received there was invaluable! That’s where I really made my decision. I loved the welcoming, friendly atmosphere as well as the solid curriculum. Upon enrolling, I found the instructors not only professionals in their field, but also personable. I feel they have my best interests in mind! As I am still attending classes, I continue to be very pleased with my choice to attend here. Rachel Shearer from Philadelphia says: I chose the Academy of Massage Therapy and Bodyworks over other area schools because of the supportive and upbeat atmosphere. I attended one of their introductory workshops and was sold. The faculty is fully invested in the success of the students and offers a low-pressure learning environment. The classes are small and the schedule is flexible. They also bring in outside practitioners to expose us to a wide variety of modalities. It is truly a great education at a reasonable cost.

Pauline Avicolli states: I became interested in massage therapy while working as an RN years ago. My awareness increased of the benefits of therapeutic touch in the healing process of all ailments. Through the years I have been educating myself as to the massage schools in the area and decided to attend a myofascial release class at AMTB. There I met Angela Pio Wagner and immediately decided to attend the 6 month program to become a licensed massage therapist. All the educators truly care about their students and are passionate about their work as MTs and instructors. I am so thankful and happy to have made this decision to attend AMTB. See Ad on page 59.

The Benefits of Cryo Sauna How and Why It Works

otolithonline.com 36

Our Center offers a unique service that only 24 other wellness centers in the US have. This service is Cryo Sauna. It was developed in Japan 30 years ago as a means for treating the pain and inflammation of Rheumatoid Arthritis. Since then, it has been used in Japan and throughout Europe. Multiple scientific studies, research and empirical (experiential) data showed that Cryo Sauna works

well on any inflammation, not only of arthritis, but fibromyalgia, lupus, Sjogren’s, neuropathy, and many others. Cryo Sauna also promotes speedy after-surgical and trauma recovery. It has been part of main stream medicine in Europe for the past 30 years. It has been available in US for the past 5 years and is being popularized by some well-known doctors. Cryo Sauna not only helps with inflammation it has also proven to help with hormonal imbalance, moodiness and depression. Empirical data shows that Cryo Sauna works great in relieving muscle sourness and tiredness after intense physical workouts.. It provides a performance edge and has become very popular in many sports. CryoSauna treatment is being successfully used in the Beauty Industry as well. In addition to the health benefits, Cryo sauna speeds up metabolism, and helps lose weight. It offers a strong anti-aging quality by tightening up the skin and helping to fight cellulitis. How it Works: The Cryo Sauna is a cylindrically shaped cabin with an open top. You stand with your head out of the sauna and your body is immersed in nitrogen vapor. It creates a temperature of 320° F similar to the temperature found in outer-space. While it may seem extremely cold, it is absolutely tolerable and very different from the cold we feel in everyday life. Usually our experience of cold involves water in some form: humidity in the air, rain or snow. Cold associated with water has a penetrating quality that goes deep down to the bones. Cold that comes from nitrogen vapor is very dry and only penetrates skin-deep making it very tolerable.

www.lowcostwind.com LowCostWind.com

Why Cryo Sauna Treatments Work: Cryo Sauna affects blood circulation. As cold sensors in the skin are activated, all blood supply is being drawn to the core . Once the cold air exposure subsides after 3 minutes of treatment; oxygenated blood flushes back to the tissues providing up to 3 times greater blood flow to the muscles and joints. Additionally, during the treatment, nerve activity is dampened thus minimizing pain signaling. The resultant pain relief lasts well beyond the treatment. As the skin’s nerve receptors are activated by the -320° F temperature, they activate the body’s survival mechanism. Once the procedure is completed (in less than 3 minutes) and the external stress is gone, the survival mechanism focuses on repairing the internal problems. The result is rapid recovery, pain cessation, feelings of energy and of well-being, firmer, healthier skin and overall decrease in the body’s inflammation. We are currently offering a promotion of three sessions for $100, so people can try Cryo Sauna and see how it works for them. See Ad on page 48.

Trees Talking Truth Dogs may be known as humans best friends but trees have also been there to support us with food, shelter, oxygen and even WISDOM! When I was first awakening to my ‘path’ I received a telepathic message from an oak tree in a grocery store parking lot. This message shook my old paradigm beliefs and forever changed my life. The mighty oak pointed out that it got its life source from both its roots and its leaves, that it was plugged in like a battery to the heavens (+) father and the earth (-) mother. This was a wise lesson for the tree to start with for me, as I had always been taught it was only the heavenly father. There was never any mention of our earthly mother. Later I would discover that down to the atom, everything around us, is energy, and that it is a bringing together of the mother (-) and father (+). The Atom itself is made up of protons (+) and Electrons (-) It takes both of these coming together to create ANYTHING. How much energy would a battery run if it only had a (+) side? None. As we look under a microscope at the basic foundations of life, there is no more denying of the mother.

One of my favorite of these inventions came from studying the trees and realizing that just like the tree is a battery with the (+) connection at the top and the (-) grounding at its roots that we humans are also in this design. Our feet are our roots, with over 50,000 receptors. Think of them as our plug-in’s like an appliance plugs into a wall socket. The earth is OUR energy source that we are designed to have our bare feet plugged in by direct contact. A HUGE modern challenge is that we are wearing rubber soled shoes that do not conduct energy and leave us literally unplugged and disconnected. Imagine a tree with its roots disconnected from the earth, it would wither up. Tests also show when we are barefoot on the earth our chakras align and our crown chakra opens like a funnel pulling in brilliant universal energy and knowledge. Knowing we can not always be barefoot I was inspired to create Divine Soles earth energy shoe inserts that are made of gemstones, flower essence, essential plant oils , black Tourmeline and amplifying liquid crystal. The soles have natural batteries of tiny quartz spheres that work in the same manor as the earth (Piezo Energy) feeding these natural energies up to our bodies

This tree gifted me a powerful understanding I will never forget, inspiring me to create over 70 inventions that are 11 time visionary awarded. These scientifically magical tools from nature help raise vibrations and bring the unbalanced synthetics in our modern lives back into their natural life creation balance.

and gently pulling non beneficial energy out.
