SCHOOL PLAYS A CRITICAL ROLE IN PROVIDING AN ENVIRONMENT TO SUPPORT HEALTHY BEHAVIORS. CHILDREN SHOULD BE ALLOWED AMPLE TIME TO PERFORM PHYSICAL ACTIVITY PHYSICAL ACTIVITY AND DIETARY BEHAVIORS ARE INFLUENCED BY FAMILIES, SCHOOLS, CHILD CARE SETTINGS, THE MEDIA, AND THE FOOD AND BEVERAGE INDUSTRIES. CHILDREN SHOULD BE LIMITED ON PLAYING VIDEO GAMES, EATING FAST FOOD, LIVING A SEDENTARY LIFE STYLE, AND WATCHING TELEVISION. PARENTS SHOULD LEAD BY EXAMPLE AND PROMOTE HEALTHY BEHAVIORS WITHIN THE HOUSEHOLD. HEALTHY FOODS SHOULD BE IMPLEMENTED INTO THE DIET AT BOTH SCHOOL AND HOME. FAMILIES SHOULD HAVE THE CAPABILITY TO ENGAGE IN COMMUNITY BASED PROGRAMS THAT PROMOTE HEALTHY LIVING. EDUCATION ABOUT HEALTHY LIVING SHOULD BE AVAILABLE TO THE ENTIRE FAMILY. DO NOT REWARD CHILDREN WITH FOOD. JUNK FOOD ENCOURAGES BAD HABITS. FIND OTHER WAYS TO CELEBRATE GOOD BEHAVIOR.
