The UNIC team tantalises your CineEurope tastebuds in this Barcelona teaser
CineEurope 2022 Teaser
It’s with great pleasure that we welcome everyone to beautiful
Barcelona for CineEurope 2022, the official convention of the International
Union of Cinemas (UNIC).
Over the past two years, we’ve witnessed the resilience of the cinema
sector, its capacity to adapt to challenging circumstances and to kick-start its recovery process, thanks to national reopening campaigns and the support of local and European productions.
What to Expect...
CineEurope showcases everything that makes the European cinema industry so unique. Each year in Barcelona, we are fortunate enough to bear witness to the latest trends and
developments in the big screen experience, highlighting the growth and prosperity of the sector and its continued value for audiences across
Europe and beyond. We strive to reflect this, alongside our partners from the Film Expo Group, through a programme that keeps up with the latest developments and opportunities for growth in the sector and builds on the discussions from the previous year. This year’s edition will feature a series of high-level sessions, delving into current developments and future trends at the heart of the sector’s
recovery, including a highly-anticipated executive roundtable bringing together the top leaders from across the cinema landscape to explore the lessons learned and what comes next
for our industry. Opportunities and challenges related to cinema technology will be discussed during the ICTA sessions, starting on Sunday 19 June and continuing throughout the convention on our cutting-edge trade show floor.
Awards Galore!
It goes without saying that the success of our industry depends on the outstanding efforts of those working within it. To celebrate a few of the most
noteworthy contributions, the CineEurope Gold Awards will be presented during the CineEurope Awards Ceremony. We’re delighted that Géke Roelink - in recognition for her long-standing dedication to both the Dutch and European cinema sectors - will receive the UNIC
Achievement Award this year, and that Steve Knibbs, Group MD & Deputy CEO, Vue International, has been recognized for his incredible achievements as CineEurope 2022 International Exhibitor of the Year. CineEurope without a series of fantastic presentations and exclusive screenings from major international and European studios and distribution partners.
This year’s edition promises to be four full days of entertainment, insights and networking.
If you’d like to find out more about European cinema-going, or the work we do at UNIC, including our publications or the UNIC Women’s Cinema Leadership Programme – our pioneering initiative to address gender imbalance in the industry, this year sponsored by IMAX and Vista Group – please feel free to get in touch.
We hope to catch up with you during the week and would like to wish you a fantastic CineEurope 2022!
