What is your position at the International Hemp Building Assn. and what do you do?

I am the director, a role that includes making decisions of policy and event organizing while leading a team of co-directors who are focused on other elements such as design details, worker training, scientific research and agricultural matters.

What most interests you about hemp and hemp building, and why?

Hemp has wide-ranging potential for providing solutions to many of the problems currently encountered in existing buildings and for those we intend to build.

What was a win for your organization in the past year?

There weren’t many but in some ways it was a time to recuperate and reflect on what is most important.

What is something about hemp building/construction/processing you didn’t know a year ago?

As I have been writing a new book I have been in contact with hemp builders all over the world realizing in the process how fast the technology is spreading internationally.

What challenges does the hemp building industry face that it must overcome in the next five years?
