CHRISTA SCHMIDEHRLINGER
“Writing, hand gestures, playing with graphic elements, signs, the spiral characterize my way of doing things. Approaching the line with an unusual tool, sewing and metal threads, was my goal. After having experimented and drawn for a long time with threads, my subject of study was the form. I linked my idea of “line” to the notion of “gesture,” individual and typical for each man. The idea of giving volume to my graphics is predominant. Not only the visible movement of my hand is important, but also the invisible movement felt in my interior.”
Christa SchmidEhrlinger was born in Backnang, BadenWürttemberg, Germany. She pursued studies in German and French language and later delved into the world of arts and paintings. She honed her artistic skills under the guidance of renowned professors, including Prof. Hans Schlegel in Stuttgart for artistic skills, Prof. Martin Schmid in Tübingen for drawing, and Prof. Rolf Thiele in Wolfenbüttel for the Galan master class.
Since 1996, Christa has been a freelance artist, working from her studio at Atelier CSE Schwäbisch Hall.
