“My work is best described as portraits of complexities of various emotional, and psychological states highlighted in altered ways, imitating the madness and unknown of everyday life. I call this ‘Imitated Pragmatism,’ which is defined as a realistic representation of that which is not known on the surface. My practice provides a set of metaphoric tools for maneuvering with a pseudo-minimalist approach in the sphere of painting: these artworks resound and resonate with visions culled from the deep and dark realm of imagination.”

Simon Darling grew up immersed in the world of creativity, influenced by his mother, an emerging abstract artist. From a young age, he eagerly embraced drawing and painting, ultimately establishing himself as a renowned artist known for his profound, enigmatic, and expressive portraits. His artistic prowess has earned him multiple awards, and his works have found their place in private collections across the globe, including Europe, Australia, Japan, and the USA.

Throughout his artistic journey, painting and creating have become not only a means of selfexpression but also a source of solace for Simon. Despite dropping out of art school, he possesses a degree in Architectural Technology and Design. Additionally, he has imparted his knowledge by lecturing on various art-related subjects, engaging students in stimulating discussions on the fundamentals of artistic philosophy. Simon’s passion for intellectual growth extends beyond art, as he delves into advanced psychology and philosophy, deeply influencing the thematic elements present in his works.

Simon has held eleven successful solo exhibitions and participated in seventeen group shows, both domestically and internationally. Recently, he received the esteemed “Artist of the Future Award.” He has also been honored with the “Power of Creativity” award, celebrating his creative excellence and outstanding achievements in innovation and artistic vision. Notably, his works have garnered attention and recognition, featuring in prominent media outlets and publications such as the “Faces of Peace Art Book 2023,” “CAS Book Volume lll 2022,” and “CAE Book Volume IV: Contemporary Art of Excellence Book 2021.”
