The Southern California DIR®/Floortime™ Regional Institute LECTURE SERIES We are opening up the lectures ( the morning portion of the Institute) to those professionals who would like to attend but are not Candidates in the Southern California DIR®/Floortime™ Regional Institute. Overview The program will take place over the course of 7 Saturdays. Those wishing to audit the lecture portion of the series may attend from 9-12 AM the first two Saturdays, and then from 9-11:30 the rest of the series (5 additional Saturdays). The cost for auditing the lecture series will be: $ 45 per session or $ 225 for the compete series of 7 Saturday mornings. Specific dates are: Session 1: Saturday October 3, 2009 : DIR®: A Comprehensive Model: Social Emotional Milestones and Principles of DIR® Assessment Session 2: Saturday November 21, 2009 : Principles of DIR® Intervention Session 3: Saturday January 16, 2010: Sensory Processing, Co-regulation, and Engagement, FEDL 1 and 2 Guest Speaker: Kiegan Blake, O.T Session 4: Saturday February 13, 2010: Motor Planning, Visual-Spatial Processing, Circles of Interaction, and Flow, FEDL 3 and 4 Guest Speaker: Rosemary White, O.T. Session 5: Saturday March 20, 2010: Auditory Processing and Language, Symbolic Function And Bridging Ideas, FEDL 5 and 6 Guest Speaker: Cindy Harrison, SLP Session 6: Saturday April 10, 2010 : Challenging Behavior, Family Function and Dynamics Session 7: Saturday May 1, 2010 : Professional Development: Home Visits in the DIR®/Floortime™ model, including different cultures, particularly the Hispanic People who may later attend an Institute for as a Candidate for DIR Certification will still need to attend the entire institute, including all lectures, as this year’s lectures cannot provide credit for attendance at future institutes.
