Pictures of Circles Pictures of Circles A circle is a simple shape of Euclidean geometry that is the set of points in the plane that are equidistant from a given point, the centre. The distance between any of the points and the centre is called the radius. A circle is a simple closed curve which divides the plane into two regions: an interior and an exterior. In everyday use, the term "circle" may be used interchangeably to refer to either the boundary of the figure, or to the whole figure including its interior; in strict technical usage, the circle is the former and the latter is called a disk. A circle can be defined as the curve traced out by a point that moves so that its distance from a given point is constant. A circle may also be defined as a special ellipse in which the two foci are coincident and the eccentricity is 0. Circles are conic sections attained when a right circular cone is intersected by a plane perpendicular to the axis of the cone.

A Circle is basically a Set of points which are at equal distances from center Point. Distance from Center of Circle to the point on outer edge of circle is called as Radius of Circle and distance measured from straight line crossing the center and touching both edges of line to circumference of circle is called Diameter of circle. Diameter is basically half of radius of circle. Circumference of circle is defined as distance around closed curve which is a circle. Area of circle is defined as ∏ r2. That is Area of Square = πr2. Formula for circumference of circle is 2πr. i.e. two multiplied by ∏ and radius of circle. Let us discuss something about secant of circle. Secant is a line which intersects circle at two points and angle made by it is either interior or exterior to the circle. Great circle in case of Sphere (3 Dimensional shape which is symmetrical around center point) is defined as the circle which is the largest that can be drawn in interior of sphere. Circumference of circle = 2 * π * r, Suppose we have a circle, whose radius is 7 inch, then we apply circumference of circle formula for evaluating circumference of circleCircumference of circle = 2 * π * r, = 2 * 3.14 * 7, = 43.96, So, circumference of circle is 43.96, whose radius is equal to 7 inches. For evaluating the Arc Length of circle, we use following formula-

Arc length of circles (s) = radius * central angle Suppose we have a circle, whose radius is 7 inches and central angle is 60 degree, thenArc length of circles ( s ) = radius * central angle = 7 * (π/180 * 60), = 7 * π/3, = 7 * 1.04, = 7.33 inch. So, arc length of a circle is 7.33 inch, whose radius is 7 inches and central angle is 60 degree.
