It is just across the Allegheny River, north of downtown, and is easily accessible via walking, driving, using the T subway line or even by boat. The North Shore serves as a hub of cultural activity that appeals to every interest and age group.
The Carnegie Science Center is one of the four Carnegie Museums in Pittsburgh and was recently renovated to provide an even more exciting venue to explore. It features hundreds of hands-on exhibits the whole family can enjoy! You and your family can spend an entire day here. The Andy Warhol Museum tells Andy Warhol’s story and explores his legacy through the largest collection of Warhol art and archives in the world. At the award-winning Children’s Museum of Pittsburgh you can experience many hands on exhibits, climb aboard Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood trolley, build and tinker with old and new technologies, exciting projects and cutting-edge media.
The New Hazlett Theater is a world class venue featuring neighborhood arts and cultural events. The Mattress Factory is a contemporary museum with room sized works called “installations” created on site by artists from around the world.
You may find an exciting event at The Stage AE pavilion, an outdoor amphitheater with a capacity of approximately 5,500 that hosts national and regional recording acts and special events.
