Got Education?

Education: How difficult would your life be if you couldn’t read? “Education is a better safeguard of liberty than a standing army.”

-Edward Everett

There is a huge lack of education in schools around the world some kids don’t even have the opportunity to go to school. Economic and political conditions make it nearly impossible for children around the world to get an education. In most developing countries school is not free. The fees hat come along with school deter many children from enrolling.

Population living on less than $2/day: 55% History: Haiti has been controlled by other people/countries since it was discovered. Spanish people are the first ones that controlled Haiti. We are now the country that controls Haiti. Because Haiti has always been controlled by different places, it has never really been a stable place. Around a year ago Haiti had a bad earthquake that caused their education to suffer more. Education is something that should be a main priority all over the world, but it is not. Haiti needs help to be able to increase their education, because it needs to change so their children can make a living for themselves.

Did You Know? -over half the population of Haiti is illiterate -Many people live on less than $1 a day, so they do not have the money to put their children in school. -The government does not fund the public schools enough. -Even though private schools can be as little as $20 a year, many families cannot afford that. -Hope for Haiti currently supports over 300 children with their education.

Education: What would you do if you did not have the proper education? Current Situation: There are too many people in Haiti that need education and there are not enough schools to provide the best education for the children. After the earthquake a year ago, 80% of their schools were damaged. That cut the small education system down a lot more. There are around 3.8 million children that need to go to school, but many of those children cannot go to school and the children that do go to school do not always get the proper amount of education. Case Study: Carrol Faubert from Abacus International Management did a case study in Haiti dealing with the education of different people. The findings were that the people in Haiti did not have the sufficient funds for everyone to get the correct education for them to do what they need to have a good enough country. Solutions: We could help with funding for more schools. People could go and help with the building/rebuilding of the schools in Haiti. If everyone took a little of their time or a little of their paycheck to support the building of schools in Haiti, then it could make a big difference.

Education: Wouldn’t you want your child to have the best education?

Questions: 1) How do you

What the government should do?

Many schools throughout Indiana are feeling the intense restrictions of the budget cuts to a point where townships are opinion on severe dropping schools. This takes away the opportunity of students budget cuts on because now they have to start at a new school where they may be in a class of 30 instead of the 15 they were originally in. Another education? problem they are doing is cutting teachers. This is also a big problem because as of right now, teachers really aren't getting paid 3) Do you think teachers that much, and yet you cut them? That’s a major problem. Despite should be based on how all problems, there are six bills currently at the senate house right now seeking approval to help fund education more. 10million dollars well a student scores? will help a lot, but in order to give America the best education, we 4) Do you believe teachers have to dig a little deeper than what you may intend on wanting to spend, but can you really put a price on education? feel about American
