A BEAUTIFUL LOVE DESTROYED Shakespeare’s great domestic tragedy puts his arch villain Iago under the spotlight. He’ll steal your money, poison your mind, laugh in your face, get you drunk and make you feel like the fool you are - and the worst thing is, you’ll end up thanking him for it. …and nobody’s safe; not Othello, not Desdemona. Is anyone a match for Iago? Watch him wind everyone round his little finger as he attempts to destroy their little love affairs, derail their petty careers, wreck their personal fortunes and punish their grubby prejudices. THE HOUSE OF BERNARDA ALBA Tue 15 September - Sat 3 October One of the most celebrated European dramas of the 20th century, Lorca described it as a “drama of women in the villages of Spain” - a theme that is electrifyingly transposed in this version to the tough communities of Glasgow’s East End.
EDUCATIONAL SUPPORT NTS have created an Education Pack to accompany this production linked to the S5 and S6 drama curriculum. Workshops are FREE if attending the production. Workshops are offered prior to attendance and will last 2 hours, exploring themes arising from the play and contemporary adaptations. Scripts will be available for purchase.
Faithfully preserving Lorca’s sense of boiling tension and impending tragedy, the production lines up a cast of twelve Scottish women who bring this classic text thrillingly up to date, starring Siobhan Redmond. All tickets £7 + 1 free with every 10 purchased Tue 15 Sep Sat 3 Oct, 7.30pm. Matinees: Sat 26 Sep and Sat 3 Oct, 2.30pm Call Box Office 0141 429 0022
