D E TA I L S The 2018 Broomfield 100 kicks off at the Broomfield Trail Adventure, a local celebration of National Trails Day (Broomfield.org/TrailAdventure) on June 2 (see event #19.) The challenge ends on September 15, when you can pick up your completion prize at Broomfield Days at Midway Park (see event #25). Get into nature on Friday, June 15 and Saturday, June 16 to see how many species you can find at Quail Creek Park and Plaster Reservoir in this family-friendly competition! Trained naturalists and equipment will be available to help you identify species and get comfortable using iNaturalist. See event #22 for more information.

TRAIL GUIDELINES Please observe all posted regulations, stay on existing trails, keep dogs on-leash at all times, and bicyclists should always yield to pedestrians. All trails allow dogs (on-leash) and are open to bikes, walkers, etc. No motorized vehicles are permitted. All trails are ADA accessible, although some segments fall outside of ADA guidelines for slope and trail width. U S - 3 6 B I K E W AY

Location: Multiple access points in Arista, Interlocken and the Flatirons area. Visitors can park at East Park (280 Interlocken Blvd.) and access the trail there. Distance: Approx. 8.6 miles total; out and back Features: This section of trail is part of the new US-36 Bikeway, which ultimately connects Denver to Boulder. Broomfield’s section of the trail connects Westminster to Superior through Broomfield, while traversing the Arista neighborhood, the Interlocken/Flatirons areas, and Broomfield’s East Park and Varra Park.

LAC AMORA, RIDGEVIEW & RUTH ROBERTS TRAIL

Location: Access from the Ridgeview Open Space near the intersection of Miramonte Boulevard and Quartz Drive. Distance: Approx. 5.5 miles; loop Features: This is one of the longer and more challenging routes in the Broomfield 100, including some hilly terrain in the Ridgeview Open Space, Lac Amora Open Space, and the Ruth Roberts Preserve. The loop features many scenic views of the foothills and mountains to the west, and passes through the Rock Creek Farm and Stearns Lake in Boulder County.

Location: Multiple access points throughout the Commons parking areas or from the new trailhead parking lot at Lowell Blvd and Westlake Dr. Distance: Approx. 3.5 miles; loop Features: This mostly soft-surface loop through the County Commons is filled with amenities, including multiple pieces of public art, wildlife viewing areas, a fishing dock, and scenic Tom Frost reservoir. Enjoy the self-guided art walk on the northwest end of the park, just south of the dog park. See the Flight and Storm Chaser art pieces on the west side of the open space just south of the soccer fields. PTS: 10

Features: This is the site of Broomfield’s 2018 Trail Adventure (see event #19)! This trail passes through the Zuni Street pedestrian underpass and follows Quail Creek. The loop around scenic McKay Lake offers excellent bird watching opportunities. Look for the public art piece Global Supremacy while at Quail Creek Park.
