You can earn points in any combination of trails, places, and events. To earn the points for a trail or place, it is not necessary to cover the entire mileage. DETAILS The 2019 Broomfield 100 kicks off at the Broomfield Trail Adventure, a local celebration of National Trails Day (Broomfield. org/TrailAdventure) on June 1 (see event #19). The challenge ends on September 21, when you can pick up your completion prize at Broomfield Days at Midway Park (see event #25). TRAIL GUIDELINES Please observe all posted regulations. Stay on existing trails. Keep dogs on-leash at all times. Bicyclists should always yield to pedestrians. All trails allow dogs (on-leash) and are open to bikes, walkers, etc. No motorized vehicles are permitted. All trails are ADA accessible, although some segments fall outside of ADA guidelines for slope and trail width. Location: Access from the Skyestone Park (Skyestone Pkwy & Simms St). Distance: 1.6 miles; loop Features: Explore Skyestone Park, Walnut Creek, and two scenic ponds along these new neighborhood trails. Be sure to look out for birds and other wildlife on this peaceful walk by the river!

FLATIRONS STATION LOOP

Location: Access from Flatiron Marketplace or RTD Flatirons Circle Park-N-Ride (E Flatiron Crossing Dr). Parking available. Distance: 1.3 miles; loop Features: This is the site of Broomfield’s 2019 Trail Adventure (see event #19)! This trail features connections from Flatirons Mall to Via Varra and the new 96th Street Underpass. View scenic mountain vistas, peaceful Rock Creek, and excellent wildlife viewing opportunities on this short loop.

Location: Access from East Park (280 Interlocken Blvd.) Parking available. Distance: Approx. 2.3 miles; loop Features: East Park and Central Park both feature scenic ponds surrounded by trails and mature trees. East Park also features a disc golf course, public art, and a connection to the US-36 Bikeway trail.

US-36 BIKEWAY

Location: Multiple access points in Arista, Interlocken and the Flatirons area. Visitors can park at East Park (280 Interlocken Blvd.) and access the trail there. Distance: Approx. 8.6 miles total; out and back (4.3 miles one way) Features: This section of trail is part of the new US-36 Bikeway, which ultimately connects Denver to Boulder. Broomfield’s section of the trail connects Westminster to Superior through Broomfield, while traversing the Arista neighborhood, the Interlocken/Flatirons areas, and Broomfield’s East Park and Varra Park. Location: Access this trail loop from Oak Circle or Poplar Way, via on-street parking. Distance: Approx. 2.1 miles total; out and back with loops Features: This loop features beautiful Josh’s Pond, the Lake Link Trail, the No Hooky public art bench, and lots of fantastic mountain views.

LAC AMORA, RIDGEVIEW, AND RUTH ROBERTS TRAIL LOOP

Location: Access from the Ridgeview Open Space near the intersection of Miramonte Boulevard and Quartz Drive. Distance: Approx. 5.5 miles; loop Features: This is one of the longer and more challenging routes in the Broomfield 100, including some hilly terrain in the Ridgeview Open Space, Lac Amora Open Space, and the Ruth Roberts Preserve. The loop features many scenic views of the foothills and mountains to the west, and passes through the Rock Creek Farm and Stearns Lake in Boulder County.

THE FIELD OPEN SPACE

Location: Multiple access points, but visitors can park at the Brunner Farmhouse trailhead (640 Main St) and head east to access the trails. Distance: Approx. 2.0 miles total; loops Features: The Field Open Space is one of the oldest and most beloved Broomfield properties, featuring the historic Brunner Farmhouse, Ellie’s Pond, and connections to the Civic Center area. Enjoy the sculptures and public art in the southeast quadrant and at the farmhouse.

BROOMFIELD COUNTY COMMONS

Location: Multiple access points throughout the Commons parking areas or from the new trailhead parking lot at Lowell Blvd and Westlake Dr. Distance: Approx. 3.5 miles; loop Features: This mostly soft-surface loop through the County Commons is filled with amenities, including multiple pieces of public art, wildlife viewing areas, a fishing dock, and scenic Tom Frost reservoir. Enjoy the self-guided art walk on the northwest end of the park, just south of the dog park. See the Flight and Storm Chaser art pieces on the west side of the open space just south of the soccer fields. PTS: 10

METZGER FARM AND BIG DRY CREEK TRAIL

Location: Access from the Metzger Farm trailhead parking area, at the northeast side of Lowell Avenue and 120th Avenue. Distance: Approx. 3.5 miles total; loops Features: This trail loop features the Metzger Farm Open Space, the Big Dry Creek Trail, Willow Run Open Space, and Columbine Meadows Park. Be sure to enjoy excellent birding opportunities at the Metzger Pond and several wildlife viewing areas along the Metzger trails.

QUAIL CREEK PARK & MCKAY LAKE

Location: Access at Quail Creek Park or McKay Lake Park and Open Lands (Zuni St & W 138th Ave). Parking available. Distance: Approx. 2.7 miles total; out and back with a loop. Features: From Quail Creek Park, this trail offers scenic views and excellent bird watching as you head around McKay Lake. Be sure to stop at McKay Lake Park and Open Lands to play at the Nature Play Area and Bike Park. Look for the public art pieces Landscape, River Otter, and Global Supremacy.

COUNTRY ESTATES TO ANTHEM RANCH

Location: Access from Country Estates Park (2161 Aspen St) or Anthem Ranch Road. Distance: Approx. 14.6 miles total; out and back (7.3 miles one way) Features: One of the longest and most strenuous trail sections in Broomfield, ideal for cyclists. This out-and-back trail features Country Estates Park, Ruth Roberts preserve, the Rock Creek Trail, and the trail connection to Anthem Ranch. This is a softsurface trail with many hills.

Location: Access from the Anthem Community Park (15600 Lowell Blvd.) Distance: Approximately 3.5 miles total; out and back with a loop Features: A loop around beautiful Siena Reservoir and an out-and-back section of the Broomfield trail, via the Sheridan Boulevard pedestrian underpass. Experience rolling hills around the reservoir and spectacular mountain vistas to the west. See the Brozovich Beacon art piece on the south side of the reservoir. PTS: 10

ANTHEM RANCH

Location: Access from the trailhead at the Buffalo Ridge Medical Center (16677 Lowell Blvd) or the Aspen Lodge (16151 Lowell Blvd). Distance: Approx. 5.4 miles; loop Features: A longer loop that spans the perimeter of the Anthem Ranch neighborhood, passing through several parks, ponds, and open space areas. Watch for prairie dogs and songbirds along the western section of this trail.

Description: Join Broomfield Open Space Foundation’s 4th annual Brewfest fundraiser with local breweries, wineries, and food trucks.
